- indent Blinking in surprise as Mavis leaped on her, Aella cried out in surprise, her muscles instinctively tensing and thrashed her body to the left, hoping to throw off her attacker. Their grip loosened, but they managed to pin her down rather well. Alas, they were built strong, and she could tell that they had been eating well, unlike the past few weeks she had endured. However, she had the drive and ambition most rogues carried. To survive. The odds of beating this wolf were about 50/50, as they were built the same. Inhaling sharply, she absorbed the pain of the attacker's blunt claws digging into the soft skin of her legs, about to lunge in for their neck. As she inhaled their scent, she was able to pin down who it was. Mavis. Alpha Mavis. It was about then when Mavis realized her mistake, and lept back, apology glittering in her yellow eyes. As she quickly blurted out an apology, the dark-furred female felt a wry grin spread across her face. Mavis despite her leadership skills tended to act childish sometimes, mostly on a natural whim. It reminded her of pup being scolded by her mother, they way she held herself and looked sorry.
indent Her friend must of realized this, and Mavis straighten up, puffing her chest out, raising her tail and keeping her ears perked in the traditional sense of dominance. Here it was used in a common, respectable way, unlike the shows of dominance she had seen in fights, where it ended up with pure humiliation for the submitting wolf. Her still raced from adrenaline, letting her muscles slowly relax, though she was still wary. Her grin broadening, she replied curtly with "Just a visit." It was true, right? She after all was doing better now. She just needed time to build herself up to her former strength. Though she would never be in the condition as a pack wolf, she was still living, right? That was all that mattered. Despite her trust in Ember Skies, Aella was still a rogue, and thus, kept her information vague. "I'm doing good now, thank you. Could I be of any assistance?"
indent As the Alpha opened her mouth to respond, the she-wolf's attention was caught by Kenickie. The rogue dipped her head politely towards him, casting her icy blue eyes on him. "Kenickie. It's good to see your face," she said with a soft smile. "Hunting is satisfactory as of now," she begins carefully, "Autumn tends to bring in prey at slower rates. I imagine Summer has been kind to Ember Skies?"
