▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

I shouldn't have spoken. I've made myself look weak. She stood up, flicking the snowflakes that clung to her tail back down to the ground. "I'll ask Eris and Stormurinn to speak with our ancestors tonight. They'll have the answers. Right now, we can only do our best with what we have. I'm going fishing." Ísinn padded away, and as soon as she was in the forest and out of sight, she let out a strangled snarl and slashed at the nearest tree, sending shards of bark flying in the air. You're a coward, a voice in her head growled. She made herself look weak and only added to the fear and tension that lay thick in the air. Coward. A tiny whimper fought to break free from her throat, but she swallowed it back. Pull yourself together. Carefully, slowly, deliberately, she set down each paw one at a time and made her way to a stream. It wasn't fully frozen yet, but the shallower parts were slushy and every now and then, a shard of ice would make its way down the current. Ísinn stepped into the water, hissing against the cold but forcing herself to keep moving until the water lapped at her belly, sending shivers up her spine. It was worth it, though. The fish weren't used to being hunted by wolves. They were easy pickings, and within a few moments, she had a nice pile of six of the slimy beasts. Hiding them in a bush for later, she sniffed around the banks until she managed to snap up another vole, but this one was sickly and thin. Hardly enough meat for a pup to make a snack of it. She tossed it over her shoulder, sighing in annoyance, when a buzzard swooped down and began to pick at it. Ísinn watched for a moment- she was on the edge of a breakthrough, but she didn't quite know what. Suddenly, it hit her and she leapt forward, slamming into the buzzard and killing it. Grabbing the ugly bird and her fish, she loped back to the den, smiling like an idiot. She then tore the mangled leg off the calf she'd caught earlier and began to drag it away.

          "SETTLE DOWN,
                i'll all be clear"

Name: "Oh? Hello, there. My name is Valkyrie. No, no. It's more like Val-keer-ee. My mother named me because she thought it was pretty, and I do like it. I recently learned that valkyries were also lovely maidens who served some human god named Odin, and they'd bring him souls of slain warriors, which makes me love my name even more. It's intriguing that my name has such as history to it. If you still don't think you can get it right, feel free to shorten it to 'Val,' though I much prefer the whole thing."
Age: "I'm older than you might think and am somewhere around six years of age, though I've long since stopped keeping track. It might be passed my prime, but I'm still young enough to be an effective fighter and thinker."
Gender: "Haha. Well, a valkyrie was a maiden, and so am I. It's too pretty of a name for a male, really, and I fear he'd get made fun of if he had such a calling."
Pack: "I am a part of Isinn's pack, and a lovely pack it is. I treat it as my family. They're the closest things I'll ever get, and I would do absolutely anything for them."
Rank: "I recently joined the pack, so I'm still a subordinate. I plan to change things in the future, as I'm capable of much more than the average wolf. We'll see if I start to stand out or not..."

"PAY NO MIND TO THE DEMONS
                    they fill you with fear"

Description: Valkyrie is the normal height for a gray wolf and has the all-around build of a female wolf. Her fur is slightly thicker, and each fur is longer, making her white pelt seem extremely fluffy. Her grace in her gait makes her seem very elegant and proper, and her snow-white fur adds to this. The golden eyes stick out on her face and are always filled with some emotion. Her thick, long tail is constantly wagging, and her black lips are mostly seen in a smile. The only oddity about Valkyrie is the place on her shoulder where the humans left their bullet behind. Her fur doesn't quite cover the lump that buries it in her body, and a deep scar sits on the skin. Valkyrie stand at thirty one inches at the shoulder and weighs somewhere around seventy five pounds. Most of that weight is made up of muscle, as this is not a fat wolf, by any stretch of the imagination.

          "THE TROUBLE,
                it might drag you down"

Disposition: At first appearance, Valkyrie comes off as cold, aloof, and uncaring, though she only takes this attitude with strangers or wolves she knows to cause trouble. With friends and family, she takes on a much sweeter disposition, becoming more like a mother than anything. She was raised with all sorts of manners enforced by her mother and lives by them. She’s not afraid to compliment those that are doing things right, but is equally unafraid of disciplining those who chose to go against the rules and go the wrong thing. Like a mother, she much prefers doling out love and companionship, rather than complaints and misdemeanors. She’ll talk when she’s talked to and will open up to anyone that cares to listen and shows friendliness toward her, sharing life experiences and all that she’s gone through. While she may expect you to do the same, because of her hard past she understand when someone does not feel comfortable opening up.

For a six year old, Valkyrie is bursting with energy. She’s always up on her feet at the drop of a hat, jumping into the action in a matter of seconds, often before anyone knows there is action. Don’t let her white fur fool you. She actually likes fighting and was the Zimina of Force before being promoted to Pili. Perhaps this comes as a surprise because of her immaculate coat, but Valkyrie is not afraid to get down and dirty. She’s always looking for something to do and will take on any task, big or small, that is asked of her, no matter the rank of the wolf doing the asking. Valkyrie is considered an extremely hard worker and perhaps the loyalest of the wolves to the Grey and to his pack. She’d give up her life without a second thought to save any wolf within Jeshi.

That brings us to family. She is very tied to them and always wanted one of her own. She was devastated the day she learned she would never carry out her biggest dream of becoming a mother, and though she tries to hide that fast that this is the one thing she wants most in life by throwing herself into her work, there are times It overwhelms her. These times are the only ones where you will not be able to find her, as she removes herself from the company of others. Unfortunately, Valkyrie resents the females that have been given the ability to have puppies and is much more likely to act aggressively toward them, especially in the breeding season.

Valkyrie is also quite the adventurer. She loves the thrill of exploring new places, and whenever the territory is expanded, she’s the first one there, ready to go see what’s out there to chase away or hunt down. If she thinks there hasn’t been enough action in recent days, she’ll go exploring on her own, taking anyone who wants to come and stepping out of the borders on the explanation of ‘seeing what’s out there.’ It gives the pack a good insight, actually, to what is lurking in their future, and she’s often prepared them for things they wouldn’t have known about, such as a group of rogue wolves approaching or getting the deer herds to run back into back land, instead of away from them.

Are you looking to make Valkyrie mad? Well, it’s not advised, but there’s one surefire way to do it. This is a wolf that has a terrible time dealing with change if she doesn’t see it coming. Attack a pack member or ruin the daily schedule she has set up for herself, and you’re likely to get an angry female to face you. It’s not hard to upset the fragile schedule, and it’s often rumored that if you make such a big mistake that you must be punished by Valkyrie, you’re not going to make the same mistake twice. While she may come off as sweet and happy at the first meetings when you’ve joined the pack, if you end up on her bad side, prepare to stay there and prepare to have a hard life within Jeshi. She’s not a wolf to mess around with.

          "IF YOU GET LOST,
                you can always be found"

History: Valkyrie was brought up alongside four brothers and was always right there beside them in every adventure they went on. She'd roll in mud or chase after bugs. She loved being there beside them and playing with them, even if she didn't win every play fight they were in, she did win some. Her parents loved her and her siblings and made sure they all had everything they needed. Every night, they went to bed with their bellies full, and every morning they woke up to breakfast and had a long day filled with adventure. When they began to learn the things they would need for life, her parents made every new lesson fun and got the whole pack involved, so the lessons stuck better in their small brains. Valkyrie excelled with every lesson, as did her brothers, and as she grew, she became determined to have her own family at some point.

At a year, Valkyrie learned that she would never carry out her dream and become a mother, though she still hoped that some day, something would chance and that cycle she depended on so much would finally show itself. Months passed, and the hope dwindled. At two, she gave up hope and became lethargic, never wanting to do anything, no matter how much her brothers prodded her to do what she had been so happy to do earlier in her life. Her mother hated seeing her only daughter so upset and talked with Valkyrie, telling her she could become anything else that she wanted to be. It gave the young wolf a small spark, and soon after she became the pack's lead fighter, beating out all of her brothers in the tests.

At two, Valkyrie's pack was invaded by a group of hunters, set on finding wolves for their expensive fur. They had set their sights on her pack because of the white-pelted wolves that made up the majority of it. In the middle of the day, Valkyrie was startled by a loud popping sound as she made her rounds of the edge of the territory. Racing to see what it was, she saw the strange two-legged creature standing over Firenze, one of her beloved brothers, who was no longer moving. She called out to him, and the creature turned, firing the long silver thing in its hands. Luckily, the man had been just as startled as she was, and the bullet hit her shoulder instead of her head. Adrenaline rushed through her body and she shot toward him, leaping for the throat of this man. It did no good. By the time she limped back to her pack, she found that four other humans had killed the rest of them off. She came across each of her brother's bodies, and then her mother and father, and realized that she needed to get out of the vicinity before the humans sentenced her to the same fate. She ran off, curling up into an abandoned fox den while her shoulder healed.

By the time she came out, her shoulder scarred and jagged, she was extremely thin and weak. She began to hunt again, first snatching mice and rabbits and slowly moving up the food chain until she was catching tiny does and fawns. She put on weight and ran into the small group, falling into their ranks.

          "JUST KNOW YOU'RE NOT ALONE.
i'm gonna make this place your home."

I go by Totum. Call me that, and nothing else. You may think I live to fight. I live to kill. But I do not. I live to serve. I would never let the judgmental gaze of another wolf - or pack, for that matter - bring my down in the snow. Never will I let them stop and take what I have earned. What the wolves around me have fought for, lived for, and hoped for. I'm a male. My coat is long, and a shaggy dark brown. My ears are always perked, and I always need to know what is going on around me. My parents - I never knew them. All I remember is the biggest blast of cold, white air that I had ever seen. My eyes are a dark blue. My ultimate hope is to be an alpha male, but I could understand if the female would not want me. I could understand if I was anything, really. Well, I would be good at everything if my paw was still there. Oh, it is - just a piece of meat. I'm surprised nothing has chewed it off yet. I remember a tree fell down sometime in the past. I don't quite remember when, but my memory is horrible. My bad side? Not too menacing. And that's just it. I can't scare anything to save my own life. I'm a hard-worker, I'll give you that. But put me in front of a bear and I'll be pummeled in the next few seconds. So I guess that's it. I would appreciate a leading rank in the pack, but who would look up to an alpha like me? Yet don't worry - I might not look it, but I'm tougher than I seem.

Is this enough information? If it is, I suppose I'm done, as I've gotta go. If not, W.I.P. If you like it... well, accept, haha. c:

Lani let her smile grow and her tail wagged a little faster than it had been wagging. Watching his facial expression and movement. "Sounds good, me and you against the world." Wondering multiple things at once and eventually forgetting what she was thinking of. Causing trouble on the pack that was somewhere around her sounded fun to her. She had never been part of a pack so it didn't bother her at all. Her furry paws left prints in the soft earth while she was anxiously moving them.

Eris glanced at Stormurinn, contemplating the option of getting honeycomb. The bees might not be out with this dreadful weather, she thought grimly as she scanned the frosty ground with distaste. We might have to stumble along the hive by chance. She kicked the ground, annoyed with the horrid conditions her pack had to face. "I suppose we can try for honey," she sniffed, padding through the icy grass. "but it might be hard." Looking back at tcamp, she saw that others were stirring and she flicked her tail. I'll just have Edmee fetch something later, Eris thought as she looked around for any signs of the herbs. A small cluster of tansy lay in the grass a few tail-lengths away from Eris, and she padded over to pick them. She carefully picked them from the roots, so the stem and flowers would be intact. "Help me carry these so we can hunt a bit," Eris barked to Stormurinn.

"Wait, Eris!" Ísinn called, chasing after them with her calf leg dragging along the ground. Pausing to catch her breath, she dropped the leg to the ground. "I need you two and Edmee to speak with our ancestors tonight, if that's possible," she said quietly, studying her paws. Lowering her voice, she added, "I don't know if we can survive here. All I can seem to catch anymore is fish. I'm going to try to attract some buzzards with this, but I haven't seen any, even though the elk calf I found was on his way out." Her gaze dropped and pain flooded her body. "Also, I'd get all the herbs you can. I'm no expert, but it looks like they could freeze soon."

Stormurinn said nothing but grabbed the precious herbs gently, careful not to crush them. When Ísinn came galloping up, he jumped and nearly dropped everything. Still, he did his best to look respectful, as if he cared, but his mind was in another place. Swirling with daydreams and perfect scenerios that would never come true. Well, probably never. You never know though. He glanced at Eris, ready to get going again.

Apocalypse stalked back to the forest, knowing that he should help the pack by hunting, despite the starving prey. With light feet, he walked around, smelling for the existence of any prey around. I enjoy chilly weather, but winter is quite harsh, he thought. A surge of hope rushed through his body as he picked up the scent of a doe. Apocalypse stalked the scent until it got stronger until he spotted the doe. It wasn't plump, neither scrawny. It'd feed a few grown wolves, he concluded after observing the details of the doe. He watched it graze, and when the doe's head turned away from him, he lunged from the bushes and scrambled for its back. Apocalypse missed, but he managed to trip the panicking doe by hooking its back legs with his left front paw. It fell, but before it scrambled up again, Apocalypse bit the doe's legs, and blood filled his mouth. He hooked his fangs into the doe's back, and finally it fell limp.

Apocalypse looked at the orange-ish sky, and gave his thank to his ancestors for the prey. He picked up the doe in his jaws, and heaved part of it on his back. He padded back to the camp, slightly swaying of the doe's weight. He dropped it at the prey pile, and sat down, resting.

"the assailant"

    ╔══════════════╗

    Six Years Old

"It's my time, and right now,
    I'm going for it.
    It's my turn to
    Take on the world.
    And right now,
The sky is my only limit."

    ╚════════════════╝
The temperature had dropped considerably over the last weak, now that winter had come upon the pack.A white-pelted wolf lay sprawled out in a bed of emerald grass, her golden eyes slits that looked at the world. She had been awake for sometime, watching over the pack, her ears listening to the movements around her. Her body was hidden in the brush, shadows settling onto her white pelt. Valkyrie enjoyed eavesdropping. It was a necessary evil to ensure that no one was harboring harsh feelings against their leaders, and so far, she had heard nothing of the evil sort. She had been laying there for a few hours, disguised in shrubs, making sure to remain still and silent, keeping even her breathing light.

Now, she smelled blood, and she popped up, leaping out of her hiding spot and flinging herself through the trees. She had been on high alert, as the past few days had been far calmer than she wanted. After a bout of calm usually came a time of chaos, and it was this that Valkyrie was expecting. Racing through the trees, it didn't take her long to stumble across the beta hauling back the carcass of a deer. She felt a little left out, not able to do anything for the pack, as he dropped it into the pile and sat beside it, tired from the exertion.

Cautiously, she sat across from him, knowing that sometimes higher-ranking wolves didn't like to be near the wolves of a lower rank. She held her head low, respectfully and slid a warm smile onto her features. "A lovely kill," she said softly, her voice falling from her muzzle like the wind wove through the trees.
