Mano's blue eyes fixed on the Pup. She seemed to small to have caught this all on her own, he reflected. Had it been a team effort? That rabbit was almost as big as the little Pup herself was! "Interesting one you are, hmmm?" Kai had taken no credit for any part of it. He did not smell of rabbit either. The little one had caught this on her own, with only her own skills, senses, and Kai's teachings.

"Quite impressive," Mano decided, recovering himself quickly from his former awkward silence.

"Is it scary? Well I doubt you would want me to lie to you. Yes, it’s absolutely terrifying. I’ve done it for years now, and it still scares me every time," Cobalt admitted. There was always the fear that one would lose focus on someone or something in Starris, and the soul would separate once more from the body and end up simply floating around, speechless, mindless, unable to act or think for itself.

Merida squealed excitedly. She was used to her opponent rolling under her to simply try to avoid being hit, she wasn’t used to someone raising themselves up to meet her attack, which deflected it, and she bounced back, but still landed on her paws. An unexpected surprise! Though it must be said, it was also quite the welcome one after so many months of playing with the same opponent.

"You’re good!" The little reddish brown Pup squeaked.

She felt the awkwardness coming off of his brother's pelt and she shook it off. She took a bite from one of the legs on the rabbit's body and she chewed slow.

Mano reached forward to tentatively take a bite himself. It was a perfect rabbit, juicy and plump, and BIG. The flesh was soft and savoury. He hadn’t had a rabbit like this one in a long, long time. Squirrels and birds were easier to catch than the fleet-footed, sharp-sensing rabbit. But somehow, she had caught it. Was the she-wolf REALLY a Pup, or was she a long-term resident who’d chosen to remain in the mindset of a Pup despite her skills and understanding growing? As was usual up in Starris, it was hard to tell.

She asked after she was done chewing, "Is dad coming to join us?"

"I dunno." Mano looked up towards the white pelted male. "He was helping someone learn to dreamwalk earlier, so that takes a lot of focus." It looked like the wolf he'd been working with had returned from the usual trance-like state of a dreamwalker since then though.

"Do you WANT him to? I can try and get him to come over," he offered.

She replied, "I don't want to annoy him or possibly mess up something that he's working on. We should leave him alone."

Octavia smiled slightly at Cobalt and flicked his side gently. "Yeah, I'm not sure if I'm comfortable doing it but I really need to do it" she admitted sheepishly.

RAIN

Rain giggled slightly and tried to dodge the attack. "Thank you! You're good too!" she praised the other pup.

"He'll be along whenever he’s done. He knows someone else is here, he'll probably get curious in a bit and come over," Mano guessed. "He may not be super warm or nice at first, but give it time. He'll warm up to you eventually. He wasn’t nice to me at first, even though I’m his own son, but he got there. He just has to trust you before he becomes actually genuinely NICE."

Cobalt walked over into the tall green grass of the meadow, over to where Fang and Acero had collected what seemed to be a small mountain of prey, then the black wolf gestured for Octavia to come join them and partake in the feast. "What's the rush? We have literally all the time in the world."

"I should hope so! I’ve been up here almost a year!" Merida squeaked. Yet she’d never chosen to grow up. She had never even thought about it. She was comfortable in her own skin as a young and vigorously energetic Pup, and that was how she planned to stay, for better or for worse.

She nodded and replied, "Alright. I'm willing to earn someone 's trust."

RAIN

The small pup giggled before she ran at her opponent again, ready to do any attack or defend that she needed to.

OCTAVIA

“There’s no rush, I just want something to eat because it’s the only familiar thing I know” she admitted to Cobalt. She wasn’t sure if she WAS hungry, but she still wanted to make it seem like she wasn’t freaking out.
