Flashes of lightning lit the way for the black wolf as he marched towards the river. He didn't need the lightning to see, though it helped the large wolf to blend into his surroundings. With every bright light streaking across the land the shadows danced around making the wolf look like nothing more than another shadow. The only thing to give him away was the glow of his yellow eyes. Drogo could hear the silent pads of wolves following behind him. It brought a smile to his face. War was finally upon them, and the alpha was certain of their victory. The sound of the rushing river grew louder and louder with each step they advanced. The rain was making it more difficult to see, but Drogo knew where he was going. Eventually, the fallen tree crossing the river came into view. He paused and looked back to his pack and nodded. "Let's go make the god's proud." His voice was barely heard over the howling wind and rushing water, but he knew they would understand. "I'm not interested in prisoners, but if a female wants to live among us she has the opportunity I suppose." As much as bringing any of the weaker wolves into their ranks disgusted him, Drogo knew that they needed more females to carry on bloodlines. He gave one last nod before tenderly stepping onto the slippery tree and slowly beginning his crossing to war.

The lightning cracked through the sky, lighting the small den Azoreth had dug for himself. The thunder boomed causing his head to ring. The male had always hated storms. They brought headaches. "Oh well, guess I didn't want to sleep anyways." He mused to himself. Among the sounds of the storm, Azoreth could hear distant howls. Some came from the west, while others came from the east. A smirk spread on his face as the male stretched and stared out of the dens opening. "Seems others are restless tonight as well." The battle scarred timber wolf chuckled at the thought of the packs calling their own in. He had found amusement these last few months by watching the two packs battle tirelessly with each other. Neither really seemed to benefit from the wars, but they both suffered. That was fine by Azo. The more the packs warred, the less weak wolves survived. "Only the strong survive." Another flash of lightning streaked across the blackened background. Shadows of trees danced on the ground. And Azoreth waited patiently.

Ira rolled her eyes as the huntress apologized. How had such a meek wolf survive this long? Comet hadn't been in the pack long, but Ira still couldn't figure out where she had come from in the first place. A chill ran down the warrior's spine as the rain drenched through her pelt. Was the storm ever going to stop? Finally, camp came into sight and Ira quickened her pace. "You need to move forward and get over whatever was bothering you, otherwise it's just another distraction." She contemplated how to say the next bit without being rude, but decided harsh truths were better than sweet nothings. "You obviously don't trust me or anyone else in the pack to help you with your issue, and without trust why should we trust you. If you died during the next war........nobody would mourn you." With her final harsh words left to sink into the huntress' mind the warrior turned and walked to the dry warmth of the warrior den.

Thunder boomed and shook the land causing Alec to stir restlessly in his sleep. He groaned and scrunched his eyes tighter hoping to fall back into a blissful sleep. The rain was coming down harder now and pelting the hunter in the face. With a sigh he opened his eyes and looked around to the few wolves still standing out in the storm. At least he wasn't the only one not taking shelter in the dens. Though, he had had enough of it now. Alec stood and shook the water from his now soaked fur sending large splotches of water flying in every direction. It did little good. Slowly he made his way towards the hunter's den. He had to dry off and rid of the cold that chilled him to the bone.
