Jacqueline walked through the camp, a tight bundle locked between her jaws. She had been out collecting herbs to stock up before winter killed everything. She had begun work on an older den, improving it to hold her supplies. The hard, frozen dirt still hung under her claws, causing discomfort as she walked. She ignored the rest of the wolves, focused on her work. She had a very important job, and she didn't need any distractions. She could rest during the summer, but she had been making preparations for this deadly winter. She had been extremely lucky to find these life-saving herbs that had been spared by the bitter cold.

Eventually the howling of the wind from outside of the burrow began to lessen; Roland could no longer tell if this was due to the passing of the blizzard or more likely, the accumulation of a snow barrier that muted its endless wailing. Tenshi's warm reply had stirred his tail to a slight swishing motion upon the floor for a few seconds, slightly outlasting the duration of his present, but faint, smile. As the pair fell into a comfortable silence, the only sounds that could be heard now were peaceful breathing and the less often scuffing of a paw across the earth.
Roland hadn't taken to sleep quickly, but it was not so eager to claim him, either. Though his situation was pleasing and the darkness that enveloped them even more so, his dreams were not swiftly invited. Instead, he'd distracted himself by staring absently into the shadows, his senses much alive against his will. Tenshi's light breathing beside him made him aware of the possibility that she'd already fallen into a slumber. Only his mind seemed to be awake and alone with the absence of Tenshi's thoughts.
It was enough to rest his body, for now.

Nikki smiled." That would be great." She barked. She grabbed the bird and laid down with the bird in front of her and Sol. She took the first bite then passed it to Sol. she waited for him. she admired his large build and handsome coat. She couldn't help, but stare at him. She looked away quickly before he noticed.

"There's an old voice in my head that's holding me back."

Lamia was cold, and that was most likely an understatement. She shivered as she stalked forward, puffing out her fur coat in an attempt to keep the warmth close to her skin, though the biting wind was quickly taking it away. She felt her energy ebbing away as she moved unknowingly through a pack's territory. The blizzard had wiped away the scents the wolves had left on its borders, and even if there had been some sort of warning, Lamia was preoccupied. Luckily, the high winds and driving snow had chased her mother's presence away, Shirin leaving with the words of, "You will die out here." And Lamia couldn't shake those words from her head. How easy it would be to drop where she stood and disappear into the snow, lost to the cold. And it was doubtful that anyone would find her after the storm passed. As a last ditch effort, she lifted her muzzle and pushed out a song, though it was quickly interrupted by the howling winds. Lamia doubted the sound had made it five feet away. She was doomed.

Sol takes a mouthfull of feathers in his first try and carefully lays them by his paws, they would be good bedding he knows before actually getting a bite of meat. His lovely green eyes twinkle as he notes the curiously lovely female wolf, Nikki,Watching him...or rather staring. Deftly he moves the bird infront of her paws with burning ears. Exactly What Was she thinking right now? His sensitive ears perk as he listens to the howling of the wind, which drives that innescapeble snow and sleet and chill under his growing-too-thick coat and down his backbone. the feathers would keep his bed warm, or maybe Nikki's, or Storms...or the Alphess Aimee's.. with a nearly indecernable shrug he smiles at the lovely wolf.

Nikki smiled at Sol shyly. She took a small bite after plucking the last few feathers off the prey. She took a bite slowly and laid there before nudging it a bit closer to Sol." So have you seen anyone other then the pack around here." She asked trying to get a conversation and leave the awkward silence and staring behind.

Sol shakes his massive head and takes a mouthful, not missing that she had taken a Tiny bite compared to his. For a moment he is ashaimed and embarressed. The male passes the kill and swallows. "Just the two loners in the clearing." he clarifies as he pulls his tail around his companion, because he has noticed that she is much smaller than him, and has a thinner pelt. No need for her to get sick. After all: Who heals the healer?

Nikki laughed noticing his concern." I'm not the healer I just know a lot about Herbs." She said, but she snuggled up close to him any ways. Her coat thin and short. She was to use to the warm south air. She took a large bite and gave it back to Sol. She swalled her bite and grinned." I heard about the two isn't one a bit rude." She replied curiously.
