With his mare
And his ally
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Jokull paused as his mare did, wincing a bit as his bit of an abrupt stop caused the place Nakiah had glanced him with her slightly resentful kick. He didn't quite understand why she was so wary of Gator, though he supposed that it was fairly warranted considering that she didn't know him. "It's all right, he's a-" The silver stallion was cut off by his mare sending a nicker out. He cocked his head, curious, and glanced over to where Nakiah was now focusing. Lo and behold, there was another mare there. Still, Gator was far closer to her than they were, and Jokull wanted to see if his ally had recovered any more than when he had first met him.
One deep breath later, Jokull turned to the mare next to him, though one ear was carefully tilted towards the other two. Even though this wasn't the best time as he was still curious about Cerberus, he needed to make sure that Nakiah would be ok with Gator. "The draft stallion's name is Gator, he is my ally. He's a friend. There's nothing to be concerned about." He assured her, though he couldn't help but glance back at the mystery mare as he did so.

Mariah's Savior

Lead mare
Dealing with herd-ness
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Mariah had just gotten back, her shy filly bumping against her legs when Akuma also arrived back home. With a single word her stallion froze her, if only for a second. It was time to go ahead and keep it straight in order for all of them to get their best chance. The lead mare checked on her baby, giving the filly a nudge on her withers to see that she was fine. After her moment of freezing, she had loosened up and was ready with prepared words.
"Not sure. Winter went off to foal. Riku went off a bit later -- he'd heard something." The silver smokey mare paused, feeling her filly start to leave her side. Mariah leaned forwards and gently stopped her by grabbing on her tail. The mare's dark eyes led up from her baby to Akuma, pausing purposefully.
Please let them be far enough away. "They haven't come back, but it's not like I could do anything with two new foals on the ground." That might've been a bit much, but it was her protective side coming out and adding fire to her words. It wasn't easy trying to solve everyone's problems, as all too often got other horses got hurt.
But what was she to do? All she could do was make the best out of it and stick on the path she was on.
"I know it's concerning, I'm worried too, but your foals are here and I'm sure they'd love to meet you." That was a bit on the line, but also true. Ky was already sneaking towards the stallion and Ciqala had surely missed him. A smile tugged on Mariah's mouth as she remembered how dedicated Ciqala was to Akuma.
If nothing else, I would hope his son leaving with a mare teaches him to appreciate what he has.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Kyra
Age: Foal
Status:
Lead mare's foal
Trying to say hi to Daddy
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Ky bounced around her mother, occasionally trying to duck under Mariah's belly. However, at the sight of other horses, she stopped and instead clung to Mariah's side. Her shyness was only validated when a large horse came up, being quite loud. Still, the palomino paint filly couldn't help but notice how her mother acted around him. He should be alright if Mama was talking to him, right? Her small head was lifted high as she tried to take in all of Akuma. The filly then sneezed lightly, after all, she had been rooting around in the leaves right before he had come.
The fluffy babe decided after a time that it would be a fairly a-ok idea to approach this horse. She wasn't exactly listening to her mother, having been off in her own world, so Ky was gloriously unaware of the current situation. The first time she tried to get over to him Mariah tugged on her tail. The filly squealed and looked back to her mother, turning to bump up against Mariah's dappled belly in protest. Ky resigned herself to pouting for a bit, still only following the conversation loosely.
But there seemed to be a turning point for her mother, and the filly perked up again. With a soft huff, swish of fur, and light crunch of leaves, the filly tried to approach her father one last time. She tried to be more perky, adding a bounce into her step and keeping her head higher than before. Maybe it was all about the way in which she approached him...

Cain's Rumored Fable
Age: 4 years
Status: Band stallion(kinda)
Puttin' on the moves
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Cain's calm eyes picked up on the details pulling together around him and a smirk tugged at the right corner of his mouth. The filly was preoccupied and her mother seemed to be warming up to him.
Ah. The young stallion stiffened as his mare flicked her tail.
Easy... He'd never had a lot of self control around pretty mares, and he'd never needed it. On his previous farm that was the main reason why they were there; they'd enjoy the company for a bit and then life would move on. Mares out here were... temperamental to say the least. In theory, he'd need to be a bit more careful, but nobody said it was easy. And old habits die hard.
Maybe it made him predictable, but then again in his version of the world, life was fairly predictable, or at least it should be. The young stallion knew at least to keep his haughtiness from being too obnoxious, but it still bled through and saturated his thoughts and view of the world, tinting everything with a glean of 'mine' or 'beneath me'.
Speaking of what belonged to him, there wasn't a point in beating around the bush anymore. The paint stallion began with a small head toss and pivoted on his hind legs to get closer to Angel. Being a young boy, he got a bit frisky and show off-y, after all why shouldn't he show off? He was nice looking stallion who had details of his 'beauty' crooned to him by humans and mares alike. However, the past had little bearing here and his goal was to have said past repeat itself through Angel. Idealistic? Maybe; but oh well, vive la vida.
With that last high of self-assured optimism, Cain was bold enough to finally touch her. It was a short spat of grooming, peppered down from her back to her rump. He didn't bother to take precautions, didn't even consider the fact that she could or would retaliate. Rather, the paint stallion started to crowd her a bit, and with one last sly look to check on her and her filly's status, he decided to speak.
"Even if the little buggers don't have an 'off' button, they do have certain appeal." Ah, what was that about beating around the bush? Cain snorted lightly and allowed himself to 'attempt' to ask for a foal. He didn't need to explain or even be too obvious about it,
you know what I want. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Band mare
Talking with her stally
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Sara's ears began to lay back as hot, musky breath rolled across her rump. With a switch of her tail and a threatening lift of her leg, she warned Ninja to watch it lest he eat hoof. The brindle mare stopped her sneaking out to turn her side towards her other stallion.
"Wow, thanks so much for restoring my faith the in 'male gender'." The young mare hissed back, voice dripping in annoyed sarcasm. Her little sneak-out had been messed up and now Ninja was just making noise. If he'd said something meaningful, she probably wouldn't have snapped as much, but rather he was just proving his point of all stallions being jerks. Maybe that got to her a bit as well. Even though she outwardly disliked males, there was a part of her that recognized that she would probably have to be around them her entire life. And if she had to do that, she had hoped that she wouldn't have to deal with jerks for the rest of her life.
However, these thoughts were subconscious and their only real ramification at this point was the fact that she was in a sour mood. Sara had also noticed his gaze flick to Lucina.
"Got somewhere to be?" She suddenly purred, her demeanor changing in an instant. But had that much actually changed? She was still planning on harassing the stallion, using her looks and potentially aggravating words to keep him around a bit. Sure, she wanted out, but she didn't want Lucina to be burdened as she had been. Besides, it could be fun and exactly what she needed.
Taking it out on others, doesn't seem to be as bad of a plan now that I think on it.
