ALIPNE
❝We all have our demons. Whether or not we let them rule us, is the difference between us.❞

indentation Alpine snapped out of his trance and a low growl rumbled in his throat. Alpine planted his paws in the frozen ground and glared at Castor, taking a protective stance in front of destiny, blocking her with his broad shoulders. His ears were flattened back against his head and his eyes were narrowed. Alpine was as large if not larger than the other male. Alpine knew that Castor would not dare kill any of his pack members, but he was not taking any chances.
"Castor, you need to calm down. We are all grieving." Alpine rumbled, shielding Destiny, so that Castor could not get to her. He didn't think he would, but Alpine wanted to be sure. Alpine continued to growl softly until Castor turned to push his way inside the Healers den.
indentationAlpine leapt forward as Castor shouldered Gideon roughly to the side with a strong shove. Alpine caught Gideon from falling, letting the smaller wolf lean against his shoulder. He growled softly at the rough treatment of the healer.
"Are you okay, Gideon?" He asked, helping the smaller male steady himself. Alpine stepped back quickly as Castor exited the den, rage emanated from him, making the air around him crackle with tension. Alpine watched him go, muscles tensed, ready to spring in if there was any sign of trouble, but Castor just made his way back to his den and pushed inside. Alpine relaxed, it seemed that the danger had passed and his legs shook. He was exhausted. Alpine hadn't slept in over three days, having been driven on by fear and worry, unable to eat or sleep for days.
indentationAlpine swayed on his paws. The little food that Destiny had managed to force him to eat, was long gone, it was mid winter, and food seemed to be more scarce this year than any other past winters. The pack usually feasted on elk during the winter months, but this season was different, the herds seemed to have moved to another location. The food that they could find was small and thin, barely enough to feed a single pup. Alpine's head spun, he felt weak, hungry, exhausted. Alpine barely felt anything as his legs collapsed from under him and he crumpled to the ground, no energy left to stand. He whined softly as he grieved no energy to make much more than a soft whine. He payed no attention to anything around him, so lost in his own misery and sadness to notice anything. He just lay in the snow, staring off at the drifting flakes. So beautiful. So peaceful. So quiet.

AZTEC
❝He always out shines me! Never letting me have my chance! Never letting me prove myself. I should be the Alpha, not him!❞

indentation Aztec glanced over when Solstice came up to them. He scoffed and rolled his eyes when she dipped her head at him.
"Go make yourself useful and see if Pandora needs anything. There should be at least a rabbit or something in there, maybe a squirrel." Aztec snapped at her. His ears twitched as he heard Castor's loud growl. Aztec turned and watched as Castor pushed Gideon aside an forced his way into the Healer's den.
"Well, that's that then. Oskari is dead." He turned when Naomi asked her question.
"Yes, I'm sure the will be a funeral soon, after Castor grieves for the loss of his friend, and by the looks of it, if Alpine doesn't die of exhaustion." Aztec commented lightly as the huge black male slumped to the ground outside the healer's den.
indentationAztec rolled his eyes, grunting softly to himself. Alpine was always so dramatic.
"Yeah, yeah, long live the new alpha. Anyway, I guess I should head back out and hunt, while Alpine is... doing whatever he is doing." Aztec scoffed turning away from the mother's. He made his way to the pack dens, looking for Alius. He found him inside talking with Pollux.
"I'm off to hunt. Oh, and Oskari is dead, Castor is in his den now, and Alpine just collapsed outside the healer's den, probably from exhaustion." Aztec rolled off the list of new updates, without much emotion, sure Oskari was a good Alpha, but he was soft, letting loners into their pack. Aztec nodded to Pollux and retreated back out into the cold, heading towards the entrance to go out and hunt.

indentationEcho felt her ears grow warm despite the cold outside. River wanted to hunt with her.
"Nope. No one else, unless you wanted to invite someone." Echo's heart sank with the though of having someone else with them, but if that was what River wanted she would do it.
"It's rather cold outside, so brace yourself." Echo looked at River's beautiful brown eyes for a moment, getting lost in them, before shaking her head, trying to clear it, and trotting outside, back into the cold air.
indentationEcho looked around, there was much more activity then there had been when she had last been out. Castor was running over the healer's den... That can't be good. Echo watched and saw Gideon appear from inside the Healer's den she heard him call out for Castor and Alpine. Yeah, that can't be good at all. Echo knew that Alpha Oskari was sick and might not make it, but she didn't think that it would come this soon.
indentationEcho watched Alpine sway on his feet and look shell shocked, and Echo knew that Oskari was dead. She felt bad for Alpine, knowing that the older Alpha was a mentor almost like a father figure to him. River would be upset too, Echo knew how much River looked up to Alpine, knew how much she loved the older wolf.
"River." Echo turned back towards the beautiful she-wolf.
"I think Alpine needs you." She looked over and gestured to where the large black wolf was standing, swaying on his feet, looking as though he was going to pass out.
