CJ smiled at Louis and licked her cheek. "Louis? Why don't you join the pack? You wouldn't have to be alone anymore. The pack would be your family." He nuzzled her wagging his tail happily.

Ryder nodded when Chief asked her to start walking towards the lake. As she began to walk she stopped in her own tracks and looked at him. The pup Ryder was back and she wanted to race to the lake. There was nothing more fun than running to Ryder and racing was something she enjoyed too."Hey, I bet you can't beat me to the lake!,"she exclaimed as she started to run in place. Ryder already knew chief wouldn't deny a race, well he might change his mind since she has not been around much. That trip around the entire city was a lot of walking, searching, sniffing, loneliness, and time. It felt that she had been gone for about forever and a day.

When his daughter asked him a question he had simply frowned. He didn't have such a good feeling on going to the pack and seeing all those other dogs. Kane knew well that it was against alley dog rules to go into pack territory unless the dog was reckless. For all Kane knew they would kill him for just being on territory and not being apart of the pack. He looked at her and turned around looking towards the pack.

Chief smiled and stopped. He turned to look at her a challenging brow raised. "Oh you think so, huh? Well, I'll just have to prove you wrong now won't I?" His tail wagged behind him. Ryder always knew how to have fun. It was what he loved most about her.

The female nodded at him before giving him a slow count down to one. When she hit one she had taken off in a sprint. Although, she was a head she slowed down due to her thought in her head. Ryder allowed her tongue to fall out as she ran getting a bit tired, but then again she was very thirsty. This was more fun that she thought it would be. Even if it wasn't much of a competition.

Chief darted after Ryder. She was fast, he knew. She had been fast even when they were pups. Chief smiled at memory and soared faster. He caught up to her. He knew every trick Ryder had and watched her closely. He was at her shoulder blade now and ran faster to even up with her. His tongue flapped in the wind but he didn't care. He had never beat Ryder. She had always been just a touch faster but he was determined to beat her just once.

Ryder could feel Chief beginning to brush up on her and she playfully growled at him. 'He's a lot faster than he used to be when they were just pups. Then again that was forever ago and they were a lot taller now than they were back then. She looked over her shoulder as she felt the male brush up against her. Her legs worked harder to keep her ahead of his. The vixen grinned and took her tail grabbing his back leg in attempt to trip him. Ryder had released his leg from her bushy tail as she took off running through bushes. Once on the other side she smiled and walked towards the lake that was only a few feet away from her. Before dropping her head to the water's level she looked around to see if Chief was anywhere near her. Just so that if he tried to hit her; she might have a small opportunity in getting out ofbthe way.

Chief fell as Ryder's tail wrapped around his leg. He immediately got up and ran the rest of the way. He ran to tackle Ryder into the water but she knew his tricks all to well. He missed and landed in the lake.

Ryder could feel the male running closer and closer in her direction through the earth. She was waiting for him to reappear and attack her, but instead he did things a little differently. He had jumped into her direction and missed her falling into the pond. Ryder tilted her head, "Chief, Sid you do that on purpose?," she asked him tilting her head off to the side a little bit. The vixen lapped the water from the lake, before eying her reflection in the water. A soft smile was beginning to take place, before a few thoughts of how it was just her shot through her mind. The females small smile disappeared as she thought about how lonely she really was. Ryder didn't let that dwell on her mood and surely did not want chief wondering what was wrong with her.

Chief climbed out of the water soaking wet. He stood beside Ryder and shook off the water. He smiled and looked over at his best friend. "We haven't hung out in a while, just me and you." He said thoughtfully. "Not since I..." His voice trailed off. Not since I became mates with Ember. "Anyways, this is nice."

Ryder watched as the male came out of the lake after his big splash. She found herself next to a wet smelly dog who then shook his pelt getting water on her. The female looked at him with a raise of her eyebrow. Chief began to talk to her and she slightly frowned already knowing a bit of what he was going to say. Just afterwards she heard him say that it was great to hang out again. "Well if you weren't so stuck on ember we would've hung out more. She didn't want us to hang out for a reason Chief. Think about it, Ember is the type of dog who will not share or just doesn't want to share afraid of losing what she believes is her's.," Ryder spoke to him in a gentle tone. She was telling him the truth about his lovely mate.
