Shadow turned in her sleep, and whispered, so softly that Midnight didn't hear, "I love you too. . . .ZZZZzzzzzzz"

MIDNIGHT
He blushes very harshly in his dreams, he dreams of Shadow and him, running in a field, with two pups, a boy and girl. He laughs as one pup trips on a small pebble, the family stops and goes back to help him and heal him, then sit under the shade of a tree, the two pups play-fighting. He suddenly wakes up. It's morning. He finds Shadow lying next to him, not wanting to wake her, he slowly gets up to get their breakfast. He returns with two hares, a big one and small one. He lays the bigger one down for her, and takes a small bite of the smaller ones leg. "Sh-shadow..." He says softly, barely audible. And wraps his tail around her.

Shadow
Shadow woke up to the strong scent of hare and Midnight. She smiled at him and nuzzled his chest, then she slowly ate her hare, not finishing it so Midnight good have enough to eat as well.

MIDNIGHT
He pushes the leftover hare over to Shadow. "Come on, eat up. Oh, and, good morning...Shadow." He nuzzles her back and puches the hare to her, encouraging her to eat.

Shadow stood up and shook her head, she was feeling a bit sick, but then her legs collapsed under her, the last thing she saw before she blacked out was Midnight's worried face.

MIDNIGHT
He picks her up slowly after she falls. with her on his back, he takes her to another place that he knew as a pup, a cave with a small pond outside of it. He lays her down inthe cave and drinks some of the water. "Sh-Sh-Shadow??? Shadow...please...wake up...I...I...LOVE...YOU...Shadow. PLEASE!!"He rest his head on her back and cries, not wanting her to die on him, "W-without you, the sun doesn't...shine in my world. Without you, the stars don't... sparkle in my world. Because, your smile feuls the sun, your eyes feul the stars at night. So...please..."

Shadow
Shadow groggily blinked her eyes, she felt as if she were falling, she heard Midnight whining and then anxiously tried to lick him, she tried to stand up but her legs wouldn't let her. She drank some of the water that Midnight had left her, spilling most of it on the floor. Shadow felt a strange tingling of her rump, and what she saw looked like a feather, attached to a strange rock.
((In other words, it is a hunter's dart.))

MIDNIGHT
he goes to see what Shadow is looking at, sees something he has never seen before. and pulls it out, knowing it is hurting his mate. He lays her down, then sensing something, he shoots around, runs outside, and knows he needs to gaurd the now weak, feeble Shadow. He sees something in the bushes and lunges at it, then seeing more of some unknown creatures. He growls and attacks as many as he can, though being sliced by something much more hurtful than just thorns alone. He whines and attacks even more, not letting them touch Shadow. Then, everythng falls silent...

Shadow weakly flicked her ears at the silence. She growled softly and tried to stand up, her head dizzy. She tried to limp outside and collapsed next to Midnight with a sad howl.

Ocean sighed relieved that she was free of the cutting briers, she felt a wolf curl around her and opened her good eye to see who, she smiled when she saw Desert and closed her eyes again
