Hailstorm felt a smile coming on. This sassy wolf would have a hard life. Except that he was about to kill her. Hail sprang from the ground, landing right beside Emerald. His jaws were on their way to her throat.

Emerald whipped around and grabbed his throat first. But she let go. "Hail. Stop." She backed up and sat down. "If I don't go will you not kill me?" She sounded a bit bored but she stopped seeing the serious look in the brute's eye's.

Hailstorm scoffed. "How do I know you won't go later? Why aren't you content with your position here?"

"Look. I'm not..delighted..with my position but if it mean's not die'ing...and not having pup's. I will stay and not complain." She said quietly.

Bronte kept her composure but she was shocked. " She thought he was going to kill her?" She said more to herself.

Cody smiled and licked her cheek. " Any day."

Hail sat back, satisfied. "Good. Then do it." He turned away disdainfully and trotted back toward Bronte. "Good work."

Meta looked over at Sauver. "Emerald is happy with her position here so she wants to leave." He said then turned back to watch. He was slightly surprised that Emerald actually thought Hailstorm would kill her. Would he? Meta asked himself as he slightly tilted his head in thought. Meta came out of his thoughts when Hailstorm trotted over to Bronte.

Emerald looked at all of the wolves that joined to watch. Sauver, Bronte, HailStorm. She stood up. "Show's over." She went back to her normal arrogant self. She padded to her den.

Bronte growled at Emerald but didnt say anything. She looked at the two other males before padding off into thw woods. She needed to be away from all the other wolves but knew now that she was Beta things would have to change. Tiredly Bronte padded into camp and sniffed a dead elk from some other hunt. She took a chunk and laid outsid her den to eat it.

Vesper blushed, something she hadn't recalled doing for at least two years. It's just a friendly guesture, she thought. Has no significance at all. "Thanks anyway," she said. "I know it's not much, but do you want to share?" She picked it up by the neck and waved it in front of Cody's muzzle in a way she hoped was teasing.

Sauver scoffed at Emerald and what had happened. If he had been Hailstorm he would have kicked her out, then killed her the moment he saw her with the Nightlings. Of course, he wasn't alpha.
