Storm | Lightning Warrior | Location: Forest | Tagging: Karter (mentions: Aala)

Storm had been so focused on being quiet - a tactic usually meant for hunters rather than warriors as far as she was concerned, that she wasn't keeping too keen an eye on Karter or Aala. It was Aala's job to scout out any potentially dangerous scenarios or threats - Storm was just there to ensure that everyone on that patrol made it out alive.

Yet... it seemed she wasn't doing a very good job of it, for when she looked up, both Karter and Aala were gone. She vaguely recalled Aala saying something about seeing two wolves out patrolling - had she and Karter gone ahead to give it a closer look? She wanted to raise her voice and call out to them, but instead she stifled her instinct - if the Fire wolves were still near and she called out, surely that would make their entire patrol a target, right? She shook her head and slunk deep into a crouch, proceeding carefully forward and keeping her eyes in front of her. She'd find the rest of her patrol all right, and once she did, if Aala determined it was safe, they could all go home from there.

Leo | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Louve | Location: Forest

"The same to you," Leo agreed. He’d learned how to take care of himself for the mostpart when he had lived on his own, but now that he was a part of a Pack, he knew things had to change, he couldn’t keep trying to do EVERYTHING all by himself. Maybe sometimes he ought to reach out, test the waters, and allow himself to truly trust.

Toby | Hunter | L-Pack | Tagging: Roque | Location: Forest

She wanted to attempt a feat like catching a bird of prey, but wouldn’t try to match live mice? It just took precision. Yet at the same time, He understood, and he was proud of his Trainee for knowing and following through on her limits, so he nodded. "Go down by the river then. I’ll keep an eye on the hawk and ensure it doesn’t go anywhere while you’re fishing," he promised. If they lost prey like that, it’d be a headache tracking it down again.

Kassandra | Hunter | F-Pack | Tagging: Tendril, Serafina | Location: Forest

Kass chuckled. "Sera, it’s alright. Lighten up a bit, it’s too early in the morning for a heavier mood. Don’t get your tail in a twist, darling, really, I’m not trying to offend." She lifted her head and sniffed the air. The air was FILLED with prey scent, so why were so few Hunters out? Why were there so little prey pieces on the pile? She took personal offence to that. "Well, go for it if you want," she encouraged her friend with a gentle nudge.

Karter | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Aala -> Storm | Location: Forest

Karter had travelled with Aala for a bit. Really, he was fond of the Scout, but soon he realized they’d wandered too far. He cleared his throat. "I’m gonna…uh…start heading back. We're gettin' close to the border with no signs of trouble, and I’d rather not MAKE trouble," he said. So he turned and looped back, running into Storm on the way back, and guilt flashed through him. "Sky-dogs, I’m sorry! We rushed ahead like that and that was just…really rude of us. Forgive me?" He smiled sheepishly.

Blizzard | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Mick -> Angel | Location: Forest

"He got upset and wasn’t in any shape to continue with the patrol," Blizzard reported. He’d let Mick run off. He knew the white wolf as well as he knew himself, and he knew when Mick needed his space, there was no point in following. This was fine though, Blizzard hadn’t been big on the tension as was. "I figured it was best to just let him go, and after you guys walked off, there was just…time to think. I’m done arguing, fighting over everything I say, everything I do or say or think being wrong."

Uciel | Hunter | L-Pack | Tagging: Lucas | Location: Forest

Knowing that his presence was soothing was enough for Uciel, making him warm and fuzzy inside. He pushed it away. Now was certainly not the time for such things. He brushed against his friend's side. "Well I’m not going anywhere anytime soon. You know you can always call on me for anything, okay? I don’t care when it is, or what it is. We're friends, and that means I’m here for you when you need me, and even when you don’t, and just need someone to goof around with or have breakfast with," Uciel promised as they started back towards camp.

Waterlilies

Waterlilies padded alongside Angel, listening to his frustrations and the tales of his love's woe. The other male had such a big heart, and very powerful emotions. He was certainly glad to have him as an ally, that was for sure. At the mention of his ears, though, he flattened them out of embarrassment. The shy wolf knew Angel was quite the flirt, and it was probably just a drive-by compliment to keep his game fresh for Blizzard. As it was, the moment the big white wolf reunited with their little pair, the attention was sucked away.
Not that it mattered much to Waterlilies, obviously- he was simply glad to have a friend.
"I can go off and see if I can find him." The little wolf nodded to Angel, giving him an understanding smile. He'd let the two have their alone time. Maybe Blizzard would see a better potential in his new friend? Without waiting for a response, Waterlilies took off into the undergrowth.

Lonnie, Cricket

Cricket was more than raring to go. The little trainee had just brushed through the exit of the camp when the low, familiar growl of her mother echoed behind them. She pinned her ears to her head as she froze and turned around, seeing Lonnie standing tall, eyeing Red as if she was a Lightning Pack wolf, not her own fellow. "Where are you two off to?" She asked, politely enough, but her lip was curled, quivering with anticipation.
"Just- just collecting herbs, mother." Cricket stepped back, away from Red. Of course she knew the older she-wolf was more than apt to defend herself, but a fight between packmates was unnecessary. Why was her mother so protective?
"You can go with me, or your mentor." Lonnie didn't even look at Red now as she corralled her daughter to her side, as if she was no more than roadkill. "Now let's get some breakfast in you. pup. Come along." Cricket stared at Red as they headed off, longing to stay.

Destiny shook her head in a slight disagree "we still need to ask permission before just leaving, and I also need to ensure I don't need to help anywhere" she said quietly. Part of her hated disagreeing with other pack members. But she took her role as an all - around serious. Others didn't understand why she or other all arounds would wait for orders and it was because they could and would be placed anywhere.

IF she just went on hunts , then she should of just been a hunter. She told herself. Destiny liked being able to help where needed. She felt it was what set her apart from the others. She didn't prefer one task over the other. Her love for hunting and providing for the pack was the same amount of love that she had protecting it. She just couldn't figure out what they were protecting themselves from, The other pack didn't seem that dangerous?

Destiny flicked her gaze back to Sable "Did you already get clearance to leave earlier?" she asked softly

Blaze dipped his head as Octavia began to leave the medic den. He knew there wasn't much left for him to say without sounding odd. He turned his attention back to Aleck with a smile. "have you eaten yet today?" he asked with a soft flick of his tail. The dark wolf wouldn't let anyone know - he had a habit of showing Aleck the most affection than the other wolves. Perhaps the most affection he had shown ever. He had a genuine what felt like instinct to take care of the medic.

When Aleck was appearing busy, Blaze knew better than to bother him. He set the meal he had brought down and dipped his head "We can catch up later" he said to the medic before turning and walking back towards the middle of camp. He wondered if he had already missed all the patrols for the day.

River nodded as Fish mentioned Rain needed to finish her meal "Absolutely" She said softly glancing in the direction of the trainee. "At least trainees are ensured to eat. It's something i'm thankful for. They need the extra energy boost" she commented before swishing her tail and sitting down with a soft thump.

She looked around the camp once again, with patrols going out the camp was finally calming from the business of the morning. She shook her fur out to add some fluff into it. Plus, it made her look a little taller. River's eyes turned back to the trainee, Rain who was eating. She noted and appreciated how Fish encouraged her to finish the meal.

River’s leg twitched, she always got antsy before a patrol. Maybe it was her nerves for potential of finding something, or it could just simply be her excitement to go out of camp on a patrol. She usually kept her head down around the other wolves. Never one to call attention to herself, it was probably why she didn’t have many friends. River shifted her weight to settle into a more comfortable position. She made a mental note to start putting herself out more. Besides Shadow; River didn’t talk to anyone really. She would of course make polite conversation but she never really took time to get to know anyone personally. Fish would really be the first.

Anticipation pulsed through Risen as his eyes narrowed in on their targeted doe. His breath evened out, slowing as he relaxed and focused on the task at hand. He pricked his ears to listen , there still wasn’t any signs of movement - or any signs they had been noticed by the herd. Risen scoffed silently to himself, for prey animals. The deer were horrid at being aware of their surroundings. But , he was thankful for their oblivious nature. It helped the pack survive. He flicked his tail before crouching lower to the ground. One of his favorite things about hunts , was launching himself at his prey. The feeling of his power coursing through his body was one of the biggest adrenaline rushes. Risen craved it. He wondered if this was how warriors felt before going off to battle.

His thoughts were quickly cut off when Thess told them to go. Without hesitation, Risen launched off his hind legs, his paws kicking dirt into the air as he took off towards the right flank of the doe. Risen kept his head low, weaving between the kicks from the deer. He nipped at its side, raising his head to hope his teeth could take hold of part of its flank. A swoosh of a hoof made him snap towards the back legs. How dare this deer try to kick him. He wasn’t the most fond of the deer fighting back - who would? but at least it kept things interesting. He focused on what he was doing, hoping with the deer kicking at him every so often that Nyx and Thess would be able to work on their side.

"I think that we are pretty much done here so if you guys want to start heading back just let me know” Louve spoke up just to let the others know that she was still aware of them. She felt tired, or maybe not physically but something felt off.

Angel | Lightning Hunter | Location: Forest | Tagging: Blizzard (mentions: Mick, Waterlilies)

Angel blinked at Blizzard's reply.
"No kidding?" He asked, flicking his ears back. "That's unfortunate. Hopefully he'll come around again when he's feeling better, assuming he hasn't just wandered back to camp." He mused. He listened to Blizzard's words and wished for a moment that Mick would've stayed to hear them - maybe a good stab of reality and guilt would do that whiny adult some good. Then again... Angel shook his head and opened his mouth when Waterlilies mentioned splitting into pairs - and then moving off to go fetch Mick, wherever he'd gone off to. Angel's mouth was left hanging open as he watched the other wolf leave and then he sighed a little exasperatedly. "Sure, let's have all of the patrol just separate and disappear, shall we?" He said and rolled his eyes before gesturing to Blizzard. "Well, looks like it's me and you, Bliz." He said. "C'mon handsome, let's get some work done. You can tell me all about your relationship trouble while we're marking the borders and when you're done I can tell you what a great partner I am." He said with a half-smile.

Lucas | Lightning Warrior | Location: Forest | Tagging: Uciel (mentions: Terra)

Lucas continued to lean on Uciel's side, feeling his heart beating hard in his chest, though it seemed to be slowing down as he walked with his friend. This had been some patrol.

"It feels like so much happened over the course of a patrol. I mean, we couldn't have been out there for more than an hour, and now Leo is upset with me - we'll never be the same sort of friends we were before. And I'm just... empty. I'm exhausted and I hurt, but..." He shook his head and fell silent. How could this happen to quickly? He felt as though he had mud clinging to his fur, weighing him down. "Uciel, could you... tell me a story? Or something about yourself, to distract me? I don't want to dwell on this much longer, and I don't know how long it's gonna take us to get back to camp."

OOC: others tomorrow!

IC:

Uciel | Hunter | L-Pack | Tagging: Lucas | Location: Forest

Uciel sighed quietly. Almost inaudible. Not from annoyance, but more in his heart feeling heavy for his friend. "It’ll be okay. I know you don’t want to hear that, but it’s true. It’ll be okay, and maybe things won't be the same anymore, but when has that stopped us? Life changes, if it didn’t, we would still all be pups sitting around in a nursery, right? We wouldn’t have friends, or families, we wouldn’t have rank, we wouldn’t change with the seasons. Sometimes it feels hard, but ultimately, in the end, all change is for the better. At least now you know the truth, and it’s his loss! You’re amazing, so he’s the one missing out. I’m sorry it’s hurting you so much. You deserve better."

The request for a story or some facts didn’t surprise Uciel at all. He had been around wolves when they were hurting before, and as much as he’d wanted to be a Healer early on, he had never had the chance to, and could only do his best to offer comfort and support. In this case, Uciel figured he could quite understand where Lucas was coming from, wanting to just get his mind off of things to the best of his ability. Just for a while, until he had recovered energy, physical and mental, enough to start to properly process what had just happened. Uciel wished he had some more positive stories he could tell, so weird facts would have to do for the time being, he determined.

"Well, it’s not exactly a story, but it’s something," Uciel started. He didn’t need to think back. Looking around camp, he was reminded every day, and if the chance to change his path came up, he would take it in a heartbeat. "I’m sure it'll come as no surprise to you, having known me for so long, but did I ever actually tell you about…about when I first decided I’d wanted to become a Healer?" About when if I’d been just a little faster, it might’ve been the case. Okay. So maybe it would turn into more of a story than he’d expected. He had hoped never to speak of it, but this was Lucas, so he knew that at the very least, it was safe to being it up. Lucas was a good bean. That said, of course, Uciel would try to keep it as light as he could while still recalling the experiences that had gone along with it.

Blizzard | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Angel | Location: Forest

"No kidding," Blizzard agreed. He felt a bit guilty, he'd been the one to scare Mick off over some misunderstanding. He was still left confused, but so be it for the time being. He’d found himself caught in a sudden and unexpected love triangle, and he wasn’t sure how to feel about it. Even if Mick HAD gone back, maybe it was for the better for the time being. The white Warrior took a deep breath. There was no time to worry about that for now though. He had never intended to, but had been left with little choice, whether he liked it or not.

Blizzard wasn’t sure if Angel was being sarcastic, or genuinely interested in the gossip. Was it fair to Mick? Probably not. Blizzard couldn’t just be frustrated about it forever though. He shrugged. "Sounds good to me." The compliment made his heart warm just a little too. A little boost after what had been a quite dramatic moment. "You know you can talk to me too, right?" Blizzard knew he wasn’t the warmest or outwardly most softhearted wolf in the world, but in the end, he was still always going to be there for his fellow Packmates.
