Macie shook her head ''No, I don't have a mate.'' she answered. She made a small smile appear on her face as she looked at Kaapo. ''Why you ask?'' she asked.

"Umm..... well. I... I...." He had seemed so confident, and then when he was about to ask, he froZe. Why! He yelled in his mind. But the words wouldn't come out.

''You you what?'' she said and chuckled. Macie looked at Kaapo, waiting for what he needed to say.

"I'm sorry!" He breathed deeply. "You know how when your going to ask somebody something really personal, a thump grows in your throat, and you can't say anything? Well, that how I am now!" He laughed. He looked back up at the darkened sky, and the stars that twinkled brightly into his scared eyes, making them confident again. "Will you be my..." He took a deep breath. "Mate?" He asked. Oh boy! He thought. Why am I so stupid? Why would she date somebody like me, when she's somebody like her?

Macie softly licked Kaapo's cheek. ''How could anybody not like you, of course I'll be your mate!'' she said and smiled sweetly. Her tail wagged, she wasn't expecting this but glad it happened.

He smiled, shocked. "I know we haven't known each other long, but I liked that you were pretty, and that you knew how to hunt, and other things.... " He laughed, licking her cheek back. "Well, I think we should get going back to the cave before it gets dark, and Kia gets worried." He said, trying to sound responsible, but inside, he really wanted to stay there, laying under the stars, listening to Macies beautiful voice jabber away about her past life.

Macie nodded ''Well, sure if you want.'' she said and smiled. She began to walk back then looked back to Kaapo. ''Well, are you coming?'' she asked then chuckled.
