Illusion flicked his ears and turned to Lani and tilted his head.she didn't talk much.He wondered why.He shook his head and thought about his ex mate and family.He pinned his ears back feeling a growl i his throat,he swallowed it back down.he looked at Lani with a smile and tilted his head again."why don't you talk much to me?"the brute said looking at her curiously."I won't hurt you,were partners,remember?"he said wagging his tail.His voice sincere.He could never hurt someone he befriends unless it was lief or death,he seemed cold and a ruthless killer but he did care about some wolves.Well,actually just one.Lani.

Lani zoned out to look at a pretty red bird in a nearby tree. The snow was a little more dense and she squinted to keep her eye on the bird, but it flew away and she went back to reality and almost missed what Illusion said, "I rarely talk." Still thinking about her short life, "I've never had anyone to talk to." She backed away from him when he growled, feeling it was at her and she laid her ears back slightly. Maybe being his partner was a death wish. No! She yelled at herself he wasn't like that. He seemed to care for her in a way.

Illusion looked at Lani seeing her back away,he shook his head pleadingly."That growl wasn't to you!"the brute said pinning his ears down.Scared she'd run away.He looked at her and then nudged her softly."You can talk to me Lani,i'll always listen."he said with a small smile.He wagged his tail."I was growling,thinking of my past.But i think its about time i forget it all and put it behind me,"said the brute staring down at his paws and letting out a sigh,showing his past hurt and it was a painful story. But he was willing to tell it if she asked,he trusted her.Weirdly,because this brute didn't trust anybody.He tried not too,he was scared,everyone left him in the dust.

Lani sat down on her haunches, showing that she wasn't going to leave. It was reassuring that he didn't growl at her. "Everything I had is gone. I've been alone for all of my life. Not much social skills here." She looked at her long, slender legs. It wasn't to bad of a past depending on what someones opinion would be. "You can tell me." She said gently looking at him, curving her head to look at his eyes that were directed at the ground. It left disassembled snow as she pulled herself closer to him so he knew she wasn't leaving. She took her muzzled and pushed the bottom of his chin upwards to face her.

Totum looked over at Lani and the brute. He had growled, and she had responded just as Totum would have. He knew a lot better than to get involved in their fight... after all, they were a couple. Totum took his last small bite from the delicious elk and looked back up at Edmee and Stormurinn. "So, Stormurinn - Edmee told me that you were going to be talking with our ancestors tonight? Are you nervous?" Totum was surprised at himself - he was acting completely normal at the moment. Something he had not been able to for a long while.

Eris nodded grimly as she shook out some dusty snow from her fur. Squinting, she flattened her ears as snow began to fall harshly. "That's good," she mumbled through the thick snowfall. "If it starts to hurt a lot again, just tell me." Flicking her tail irritably, she tried to scent anything, prey or herbs. There was nothing in the cold, dry air. Suddenly, she realized that there were none of the usual insects buzzing around her head, either, even though it was the time for them to return to the air, spring. She trembled a little bit, not of the cold. "If this weather doesn't get better, we might be forced to relocate," she muttered. Pricking her ears up, she smelled the scent of fresh-caught prey as a few wolves dragged an elk into the camp. She wagged her tail happily and trotted up to it, tearing out a small chunk of meat to satisfy her hunger after seeing the alpha had already gotten her food.

Pheaca nodded at the healer. "I'll be sure to notify you, Eris, if it gets worse." She
smelled the thick, dense air. Nothing. The beta almost growled for being so annoyed
of this weather, but Pheaca kept her anger down and relaxed, though she flattened
her ears. Pheaca yawmed and shook her head after her stomach growled furiously.
Pheaca did manage a small, quiet grumble in annoyance. She saw Eris lead herself
to the elk, so The black wolf thought she should mimick the actions of the kind healer.
After taking a few mouth-fulls of the pleasantly warm meat, Pheaca looked at the
healer and like her jowls. "If I may, i'll prowl the area for a new location and report
back A.S.A.P." She said in her fancy, thick Romanian accent, and sat upright, her back
straight as a wooden board.

He sighed softly and looked at her,wagging his tail slightly."I have nothing left too,i know it must hurt,"he said,when she touched him with her muzzle,he felt comfort and he smiled softly."Alright.."he said in a soft tone.He looked at her and nuzzled hre before stopping and looking into her eyes."I had been on the run for months from a wolf pack,my old pack.My fathers pack.They were trying to kill me for trying to overthrow my father,though I killed him and succeeded."he said in a harsh voice thinking of his father he shook his head."I was on the run,and a female joined me..Eventualy be became mates and bestfriends.."he said in a soft voice,"except,they caught me,the wolf pack and said either i came back to be there alpha or they killed her.."he said and looked at his paws,pain in his voice."I joined their pack,but they still killed her,"the brute said looking at her."I would be a alpha right now,but i escaped."he said looking at the young female.

Lani returned a soft smile when he looked at her. He started to talk and she listened closely. Feeling bad, but surprised at the same time. Her copper eyes looked down to the space between them as he said the story. Was she simply a replacement to his loss? Just a useless void? She wondered. At the moment it seemed that way, but she kept it to herself. Her words were quite, "I'm sorry." Everything that happened to anyone she always felt was her fault. Why? She didn't even know.

Ísinn rose painfully to her paws, then called everybody for a meeting. When they were gathered, she began to speak. "As you all know, prey is scare and loners are numerous. We're going to have to change some rules accordingly. Apocalypse suggested that we try catching only female elk, so they can repopulate the herds. He also thought of putting a limit on how many elk we catch a month- eight males and one female. I'd like to take this a step further and say only catch the elkthat would die anyway; sickly, old, injured, or starving. We can survive on small prey and the occasional skinny elk, if we're careful. Before pouncing on rabbits or voles or squirrels, I want you to wait a few moments. A hawk or eagle or falcon might come, and you can catch the bird and the original prey. We can use small scraps of meat to attract buzzards and vultures; I don't know how they taste, but they've had no trouble making themselves nice and fat, with all the death going around here. The fish are also easy pickings, but we can't rely solely on them, because the rivers may freeze over soon." Suddenly she was tired. Oh, so tired. "Pack dismissed."

Stormurinn shrugged a little. "I don't know that I see the point, to be honest. Being dead doesn't make you wiser, it just makes you... dead." He sighed, curling his tail over his paws. "But maybe I'll change my mind tonight." Then he heard the alpha call for a meeting, and raced over to see her a bit too quickly. He listened, squirming, to the meeting, then when she dismissed them, delight flooded him. It was a short meeting! They might have time! He padded over to Edmee, forcing himself to move slowly. "So, um, what are you thinking about tonight?" he asked nonchalantly, wording the question so the pack wouldn't understand if they overheard.
