He held his head high, like he saw Malcolm do many times before, and let out a low growl, "Who are you!?" He barked at the silhouettes in the distance, he felt scared inside, he thought, "What if that's Hera and another wolf, and she'll wipe us out, too?" He shook his head, "No don't think of the future, focus on now."

Pike shook snow off his head as he lead his brother through the thick nightly snow. Four years ago to the day was when their father had sent them to live on their own. Their brother, Kai, had stayed with him, yet Pike remembered every little detail about him. His scent, looks, and unusual knack for climbing tree. He was remembering the good times when Lance pulled on his tail to stop him, "Pike, look." Lance motioned to a figure standing up, on sitting, two more laying motionlessly. The one standing barked, "Who are you!?" Pike didn't know what to do he opened his jaw to bark back, but only a shallow wind came out. His hazel eyes glistening in the moonlight.

For Lance this was a sad day. The forth year anniversary of them leaving their brother, Kai. Lance always tried to remain aloof around this day, but usually failed. His other brother, Pike, was the strong one, and remained such on these particular days. He looked as his paws as he followed Pike, trudging through the falling snow. He suddenly smelled a sharp presence of Ash Wood. He looked around, no Ash trees. He was suspicious, he squinted father ahead and saw four outlines, two of which were laying in the snow motionless. He pulled on Pike's tail to stop him, "Pike, look." Lance's golden eyes glowed as he motioned towards the figures, the one standing barked, "Who are you!?" Lance opened his mouth as did Pike, but only the sight and the shallow sound of their hot breath occurred.

He looked to his side as Anaya ran back from the den to come help him. He then remembered that Adianna was going to have pups any minute now, he couldn't let these wolves get to her. He thought of something, "What if they're not dangerous? If they wanted us dead, they surely would have attacked by now." His thoughts were interrupted by one of the wolves barking back, "I am Pike, son of Trout the Hunter! I am here with my brother, Lance! We're in search of our lost brother!" Kai was flashing back to his pup hood, his dad's name was Trout. "Common name," he thought to himself, he then saw himself playing with two other pups... his brothers.... then his dad sent them away. "Stand down, Anaya," he himself did the same and walked closer to see a brown wolf with hazel eyes, and a timber wolf with golden eyes.

Pike was tired of running from other wolves, this was his chance to finally get him and his brother back into the pack, "I am Pike, son of Trout the Hunter! I am here with my brother, Lance! We're in search of our lost brother!" His voice was strong and confident, he hoped they would take them in, for they had nowhere else to go. He looked at Lance who looked unsure of their situation, "Stay strong, Lance." Snow from a low hanging branch fell on Lance's head, he jerked it off of his head.

Lance stood beside Pike strongly as he watched the female wolf trot over beside the male one. She bared her teeth, "Who are you guys?" Lance was unsure, he tried to hide it, but it was impossible. Pike looked at him with his hazel eyes, "Stay strong, Lance." Lance gave a faint smile back and nodded. He was attacked by snow falling off of a tree, but recovered and jerked it off of himself.
