Brute opened his eyes. He needed few minutes to realize what actually happened. Jett rose his head slowly, still laying on the ground, and looked around. "Ouch, my head," he murmured. Brute's amber eyes were shining in the darkness. Jett heard a howl. He turned his head towards the sound and perked ears, attempting to recognize the voice. It took his breath away. What if it was a stranger? A lone, dangerous wolf? He was too weak to protect himself. Jett crawled to the nearest bush, which has survived the fire somehow and hid behind it.
