Goldpaw trotted over to Rookie, her keen ears picking up welcome words even as she slept. "I'll go with you," she said, a smile on her face.

[growl]

Vesper nodded, glad that Rookie had to come her rather than the other way around. She glanced at Goldpaw, whom had just arrived. "We're going upstream and then around, right?" she said. She was already trotting toward the copse of trees.

"Yes, we are." Rookie nodded to Vesper, before she began to follow Vesper, sniffing the air before she picked up the pace. She glanced at Goldpaw, before returning her gaze to the scenery in front of her.

Goldpaw followed after them, glad to be back to her work. Her nose was pointed towards the ground and her eyes were directed forward. Her ears swiveled in all directions.

[growl]

Vesper was surprised she was leading the way but didn't say anything as they made their way towards the river. She kept them banking east so that they would be able to reach all of the corners of their borders without difficulty, as Rookie had taught her. The sound of running eventually reached her ears, and she scented the plants around them. Nothing yet, except for a tuft of silver fur Vesper recognized as Cody's.

Cody darted through the trees. He stopped when he saw Vesper and some other wolves. He stopped and put the three sqirrles down. " Looks like your doing ok." He smiled at Vesper, happy to see her on her paws. He nodded his head to the other wolves who were with her. He was surpirsed she was leading them.

Bronte walked away from the fight. She was in deep thought and didnt realize she crossed the border until she splashed into a small river. Bronte jumped out of the water and shook drops from her fur. She shivered, it was only fall but was betting cold fast. Bronte looked around, she didnt know this territory well and didnt want to get caught by any other wolves from the rival.

Rookie nodded to Cody in greeting, and walked up next to Vesper. "The hunting looks like it's running good." Rookie said as she looked at the three squirrels, then back up to Cody. "Nice catches." She commented.

[growl]

"You too," Vesper replied, flicking her tail at the three squirrels. How he had managed to catch them in such a short time was beyond her. "Rookie, Goldpaw and I were just checking the borders. Why don't you go put those in the dens and then catch up? Just in case their is someone out there?" She seriously doubted this but hoped he'd accept anyway. It's a dull prospect, she admitted mentally. Trudging around your territory with three faes.

Cody smiled and flicked his tail, " Sure, I will be there as soon as I can." he watched Vesper as he said this. Cody bowed his head, said thank you for the comments on the squirrels and raced away. He put them one in his leaders den, One is Vespers den, and the other left out in the open. Then he padded back into the forest and followed their trail. While he was by himself he thought about many things. " Do I like Vesper? Does she like me?" He thought to himself. Finally he saw them in the distance. Cody sped up, finally broke out into a run.

Vesper beamed when she saw Cody running to reach them. They had reached the river in his absence, and were starting their trek upstream. "Eyes open, ears forward, nose around." she said. It was a habit, something she said whenever she was hunting or patrolling with a group. In fact she had begun saying it to herself when she was out alone. "And remember to look out for fur and pawprints that are unfamiliar." She began sniffing her way up the slope after giving Cody a quick lick as thanks for coming.
