Cavalia nudged her gently. "I'm glad you like it." Suddenly Eli flew in and looked around. He studied Dahlia for a few minutes then turned and left the cave. "He was checking in. Eli will do that sometimes. He approves of you. He'll help me keep an eye out for dangers and other stallions. You can pretty much say he's my right hoof[hand]."

Dahlia looked at the eagle and then back at Cavalia. "He seems like he is. " she told the white stallion and slightly leaned against him. The buckskin mare was glad that she was with Cavalia instead of any other stallion. "That a good thing, he warns us of danger."

Cavalia's eyes danced happily. He was glad he had Dahlia as his companion and lead mare. "I'll always protect you don't worry. I'll never be to far away from you either."

"I know you will." Dahlia told him and nuzzled his side. She took in his scent as she nuzzled him along with the smell of grass and other things. She didn't think being in a herd would make her this happy.

Cavalia gave a horse smile. His eyes danced with happiness. He nuzzled her side and took in her scent. He softly nipped her neck affectionately.

Dahlia felt Cavaliia nuzzle her and softly nip her. She didn't have any more words to speak at the moment, she was content for know being in a herd with a kind stallion, that didn't seem at all like others, that had tried there luck with her last spring.

The pretty mare plodded to the watering hole, but not for a drink. She waded in and flung around some water with her muzzle, laughing. She felt like a foal. She felt lonely, though, as well. She was alone and sometimes it was hard to have fun by herself.
