Willow grazed in the grasslands enjoying the warm rays of sun that beat down upon her back. She was in heat like many of the other mares, but she was in no hurry to find a mate. She instinctively swatted at the flies biting at her legs and sides with her long tail. She took each tender blade of grass into her mouth, chomping on them gratefully, for she knew that all too soon the grass would be dry and tasteless, and soon after that there would be no grass at all. She snorted at the thought of the bitter winter to come. She took a step forward and pushed the thoughts of winter out of her mind, It was spring now and she would enjoy it while she could.

I looked up seeing a stallion grazing on the grass. I let nickered out to him. Hoping to catch his attention.

I saw a mare grazing on the grass. I trotted over to her. Once I was at least a meter away, I to grazed on the sweet green grass. But not once did I take my eyes of the mare

Shadow's ears twitched as he heard a nicker coming from the distance. He snorted and looked up from his grazing, his ears perking at the sound. He saw a mare in the distance. She was pretty with her white coat and full mane and tail. He started slowly walking over to her.

Willow heard footsteps near her in the grass and she looked up, meeting a stallion's eyes. She was surprised to see him there, but she whinnied a simple hello to him and kept eating her grass.

I grazed on the grass. It was nice and sweet. I looked up and saw the stallion coming over. I looked around me to make sure there was not other stallion. I trotted up to him and stretched my neck in greeting.

Shadow nudged the mare's face in a friendly greeting. "Hi there." He said. "I'm Shadow.'

Willow raised an eyebrow in wonder as the stallion stepped closer. She looked up cautiously but still said nothing. He was handsome but she wasn't really looking for a mate. She lowered her head again, not taking her eyes off of the stallion.
