~The White tiger family~
Yania woke up in the middle of darkness. She growled in fright as she first opened her eyes. Her eyes gradually got used to the darkness, and she got see other figures in the space with her. Spike, her mate, and her four cubs, Shania, Meena, Milei, and Eisha sleeping soundly a few feet away. Yania meowed in loneliness, trying to get their attention. One cub stood up.
"Milei?" Yania asked quietly. Milei looked around and half smiled when she saw her mother.
"Where are we?" Milei inquired worriedly.
"Ssh," Yania replied. "I don't know, but the others are sleeping. We need to speak lightly."
Milei nodded and moved around the other cubs, checking to see if they were awake. Suddenly, they both heard a large groan.
"Why throw me into the darkest of darkness when I'm half-blind?"
"Eisha!" Yania and Milei both said happily. The other cub stood up and tried to glare at them, looking in the complete wrong direction.
"I can't see anything," she complained bitterly. "Where are you? Milei? Mum?"
For a 1 year old cub, Eisha was pretty smart.
Yania walked briskly over to her and lay down. Eisha felt with her paw for her mother's warm pelt, and immediately found it and lay down next to it.
A few minutes later, the trio heard a larger growl.
"Spike?" Yania whispered hesitantly. Spike stood up, shaking his huge pelt and looked over at the two cubs and his mate. He smiled, but went over to Meena and nudged her with his gigantic paw. Meena muttered, "No, no the meat-"
She abruptly sat up and turned to her family. She looked embarrassed. Milei sniggered at her twin.
"Where are we?" Meena asked suddenly.
Everyone else answered, "We don't know."
Then, suddenly, light burst in from the opposite wall. Two human figures could be seen. Spike stood up and growled menacingly. One of the humans looked scared, and took a step back cautiously. The other stood there confidently. "Come on, you big pussycat."
Spike stood his ground and the human jumped into the space. "Come on," he said calmly, looking as though he was not afraid at all. Spike growled again, more ferociously this time.
"No choice, then." the human muttered and drew something out of his jacket pocket. Spike and his family had no idea what it was.
The guy had drawn his arm back. He abruptly let it go and something shot toward Spike. It hit Spike, and he roared purely. The thing didn't hurt, but he was really getting annoyed at this guy.
Suddenly, he started to feel drowsy, and wanted to go to sleep. Yania looked on with wide eyes with fright. It - it was a tranquilizer gun! The dart had a soporific effect on any animal it touched. Yania looked at the human just as he shot another dart, this time at herself. Yania growled and moved in front of her cubs before her motion could slow down. The cubs snuggled up behind her, so she could protect them. Spike was asleep. Yania sighed and let the tranquilizer take over.
