[Ourpawprints]

I raced after the tom, struggling to keep pace. I usually was rather fast but as I mentioned before I was weak. So I forced my legs into long strides, using my long legs as an advantage. But still I was far behind Zeus and I was already beginning to run out of breath. I didn't give up though, I kept running and would continue so long as I kept sight of him. The gate, well that was harder. I managed to get over it but not after a few tries. And before long in the less fancy part of town I couldn't keep track of where Zeus had gone, so I blindly ran forward in hopes it was the right way.

Shadow headed up to the rich part of town.

Zeus looked back to see Vixen race past the street he had just taken.He turned and raced back through the streets catching up to Vixen,"Hey alley's 'dis way."he said turning her around and starting off again this time at a quick trot.

Vixen followed the tom, breathing heavily. She was running still, but not fast. Her paws were aching. If it were any other day this would be easy for her, but it wasn't. So she struggled to keep up but made sure she didn't loose sight of him again.

Zeus jumped on top of a garbage can and hopped over a chain link fence.He watched Vixen to make sure she made it over.He then continued to hop over another brick wall and land on the dumpster close to Sunny.

.:Sunny:.

Sunny opened her eyes slowly to see Zeus standing over her.Another figure was behind him,"Who's this?"she asked

Shadow walked over to Vixen. "Hey, got my herbs."

I jumped over the fence, landing hard on my paws. I kept Zeus in sight but just barely. It seems he had been doing this his entire life. I was more use to open fields, not towns. But I managed to keep up enough that I didn't loose him again.

I turned to Shadow. I nodded at my friend, and scrambled on top of the brick wall. When I saw the other she-cat I assumed it must be Sunny, the cat Zeus had mentioned before. I forced a smile across my face, although I was breathing heavily.

"This is Vixen,she wants to live with us.And this is Shadow."Zeus said stepping aside so the she-cats could introduce themselves.

I nodded my head although I didn't exactly know what I was agreeing to. There was an awkward silence. "I'm Vixen, as you already know." I greeted, my ears low with embarrassment. "Um.. yeah, what he said I guess."

"Well here!"Sunny said jumping down from the dumpster she grabbed her rabbit carcass and tossed it towards Vixen,"You look starving!"she said.
