Nova
[ Rank ] Redmoon Luna [ Age ] 3 Years Old [ Crush ] Open [ Tag ] Blaze, Eros, and Narae

Nova could not help but to roll a soft chuckle. Her day never truly ended and while it was a lot, it was a task she was willing to take on. "I won't complain. While Liberty ran the show, I felt like I had no real purpose." She shared. Often times it was because Liberty wanted the spotlight all to himself. Even though he played in the shadows most of the time. Nova focused on Blaze as he roped back into the conversation of the treaty.

She cleared her throat again and her demeanor changed to serious again. Her brows arched curious to what more he wanted to add. "A delicate balance, easily tipped over like a newborn pup." she repeated. It wasn't going to be an easy task, but Nova was determined to mend the bond between the two packs and maybe have some unity. However, the real question was the kind of unity Nova would want for them. She couldn't imagine bringing the packs together as one, they have different rules and regulations. Someone would have to step down and it would not be Nova.

At the response she received from Blaze, she sighed in response. The young wolf did have a lot to readjust to. From growing up, almost losing his only friend, gaining siblings, and fighting for his life. She could imagine the emotional frustration that he was going through. "He's probably adjusting like the rest of us." Nova pointed out. Her eyes traveled over his seemingly troubled expression. For a brief moment she wondered what he was thinking, but it all started to pool out. Her gaze softened as he spoke about Gauge and the pups. "That is a lot to adjust to." Her words stumbled yet again. She huffed in frustration. Then it finally hit her. The level of reassurance and certainty that he displayed was admirable. "Good thing I chose you and Gauge to be his guardians. I know you won't give up on him." she spoke again. Her eyes wandered again, just to keep an eye on the pack. "I'll leave it to you. If he needs me he will find me."

The silence between the two grew into a long pause. In the meantime her thoughts had gone onto other things. She cleared her throat, realizing that they had gone all topics. She flicked her gaze back to Blaze and felt her eyebrows cave in. "How was the scout? Outside of finding Dante and Eros.." she asked.

[ Rank ] Starlight Hunter [ Age ] 2 Years Old [ Crush ] open [ Tag ] Open

The hunters had finally returned to the pack with something to eat. Athena's stomach grumbled, it had been a few days since she'd eaten anything other than a rabbit. Which didn't fill her at all. The huntress pulled herself up from her resting spot and slowly walked towards the rest of the hunters. Her eyes followed Kiyu as she took a leg with her in another direction. Athena's eyebrow cocked in confusion, 'Where is she going with that?' she thought to herself. She finally closed in on the group of hunters and barked at them. "Great job! This looks great." she applauded the gaggle of wolves. "I should be up for the next run." she spoke thrilled to be back in the field again.

Kiyu
[ Rank ] Starlight Hunter [ Age ] 1 Year Old [ Crush ] Kuroi[ Tag ] Kuroi & Hunters > Cypher & Destiny

Kiyu sighed frustrated at the thought of having to wait to eat. There had been plenty of times before when they ate without her or Kiyu would bring her food. Instead of arguing with Kuroyuki, she kept quiet and nodded. Her attention was pulled away for a moment when Yomi and Kuroi engaged in conversation. "Sounds like a plan to me." she spoke before listening to the pair joke with one another. Kiyu joined in on the laughter, "The bunnies chase you? That's not how that's suppose to go." she laughed again. The delicious scent of the elk wafted in her direction as the wind kicked up in speed. That was when the idea hit her.

"I'll be right back." Kiyu told the group. She eyed down the elk and wrapped her jaw of death around it's leg again. Her head shook side to side repeatedly until the animal tore. The young wolf held her grip on the elk leg and she bounded off in the direction of the Luna and lead hunter. While she couldn't eat until they did, she decided that she could just bring them a meal and the rest of the pack could eat without consequences.

As she approached Luna Destiny and Cypher, she slowed to a easy trot. Her paw pads crunched the snow underneath her, leaving evidence of which way she traveled. "Good Morning Luna." she started and dropped the elk leg at her own paws. "Good Morning Cypher." she added and dipped her maw out of respect to them both. "The hunters and I have brought an elk home. I figured I could bring you a piece and maybe the rest of us could eat." her voice radiant with confidence.

Eros

Eros smiled broadly at Narae's response; he'd already half expected that she would want to come along. Wearily, with heavy eyes, Eros let out a tiny yawn, then began to walk again, keeping pace with his friend so they could talk. His tail drooped slightly, mirroring his exhaustion. “Heh, thanks, Rae,” he said, his voice a little raspy from lack of use. Then, he let out another exhausted yawn that finished with a small whine. “Wow, I am soooo tired.” Small tears had formed at the edges of his eyes from his yawning, but he just blinked them away and listened to Narae as they walked. Normally, Eros would have told her no and that they could probably just go visit the food pile together for a snack since he thought she didn’t have to do anything like that for him, but today, he was not opposed to her kindness, and he was greatly thankful, even while he felt a bit of guilt in saying yes.

He felt the tips of his ears run a bit hot when he looked over at Narae as they trotted along. “You’d do that for me?” he asked sweetly. “Yes, that sounds amazing. I would… obviously, owe you one. Anything you like. Just tell me, though, don’t think I’ll be covering any of your chores,” he teased with a smile, then looked forward again.

“It’s good to be back,” he murmured softly. Then, he began to think about how worried everyone else must have been while he was gone, and he found that the thought warmed his heart because he was thinking about them the whole time they were separated. “It was scary out there most of the time,” he drooped his head and ears, holding back a sniffle that would lead to tears he couldn’t spare. “Hearing that all of you were worried about me actually makes me feel a little better… I always knew that the love in our hearts would bring us back together.” He said clearly enough to be heard, but then he must have realized what he said could have been twisted, that he had a crush on his best friend, so he blushed madly. “I… I… well, I don’t love you! Well, I mean I like you!! But not, not like that! I mean like… you’re close to me and really important and and…!!!” It was as if the universe had stepped in to save the poor guy from himself. A hefty stick that had been covered up by a lump of snow was poking out just enough so that Eros’s paw could catch it and trip him. Eros fell quite comically into a chunk of snow larger than him with a solid THUNK. “OOOOOF,” he said, scrambling for a moment to get unstuck. When he was successful, he attempted to resume the walk as if nothing had happened. “Y-you didn’t see that!” He said, holding back a laugh behind a massive toothy grin.

Eros perked up when Koa’s name was mentioned. “That’s good news,” he said, then shivered slightly with disgust. “Yeah, leeches are the worst. The old healer, he was uh… not my favorite…” He tilted his head, staring at her when she stopped for a moment to laugh. He thought it odd until he realized that she was probably remembering the time he’d stepped on that leech down by the river. “If you don’t watch your step, they go squiiiiissshhh,” he smiled and padded ahead of her and waited for her to catch up. When Narae eventually did catch up, she announced they were at the healer's den and said hello to Koa, who appeared to be a bit busy already; his mouth was full of an oddly shaped thing Eros had never seen before. “Koa? You’re Koa? What’s that thing you’ve got there?” His feeling of exhaustion was eased slightly by the presence of Narae and new-found curiosity in the thing Koa had.

Koa

[ Rank ] Redmoon Healer [ Age ] 4 Years Old [ Crush ] open [ Tag ] Dante > Narae & Eros

The sound of whooshing winds and crackling water filled Koa's ears. His ears flickered as he approached the sound of water. This would be perfect for Dante's healing process. Although, he might not like that the water was cold as ice. Koa lowered his maw, letting the water slowly fill to the top. He set the bowl aside, the ice-like feel shocking his teeth. Koa chattered in response in effort to warm his mouth again. He eyed the river as small pieces of ice craddled the sides. Slowly stacking up against one another from and over flow. Piercing dark brown eyes watched carefully and Koa picked up a few pieces of ice to place into the bowl. After a quick inspection, he noted that it was plenty to get Dante back on his feet.

Koa picked the bowl up again in his teeth, keeping his head leveled so the water didn't spill. The Starlight Beta, while some felt he didnt' deserve it, needed to heal & get out of their territory. He was confident no harm would come to Dante. Not with him or Ghost watching over the den anyhow. A dark black and grey matter padded back towards the healer's den. His gaze hyperfocused on his path. He was doing his best not to trip over anything. Keeping his mind on not tipping the water made him forget how cold the water and ice was against his teeth.

It wasn't long before the healer returned to his domain. He checked the tracks leading up to the den, none of them were fresh. Which mean that no one had come into the den, good. The last thing he wanted was for someone to rile up the patient. Koa entered the den, an exhausted huff from the healer. This was no light task for him.

He hummed himself a clear throat and approached Dante, placing the water bowl on the floor. The sound of one familiar voice approached his den, calling his name too. His ear twitched at the sound and Koa turned back to see Narae. "Hello Narae!" he greeted. His tail wagged behind him with a sliver of happiness to see the young wolf. Koa's gaze did not last on Narae long when he saw Eros bombarding in with curiosity.

He turned his head towards the bowl he'd placed in front of Dante moments ago. "I think the humans called it a bowl." He answered. If it was any indication, he'd stolen it from a human camp before the pack arrived here. No idea as to what made him do it, but in his teen days, it was a thrill. "What brings you two youngins in here?" he asked, observing the both of them for any concerns. Narae was clear as day, healthy in all the great ways. Eros, looked as if he hadn't eaten in a long while, leading Koa to a connection. He must have come in with the Starlight Beta. If his skinniness wasn't a give away, the scent alone was a huge give away.

_'' 𝐍𝐀𝐍𝐔𝐐
    rank. hunter__pack. redmoon__mentions. gauge, castor__tags. nova, blaze --> niko
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

Silence had always been an uncomfortable presence to be consumed by, but since the incident a few moons ago, Nanuq feared it more than ever. Sitting in silence allowed his mind to wander, to sketch up bad memories that crashed down on the pack all in an unexpected rush. He had never found himself to be close with Liberty, admittedly having questioned his morals more than once during his reign, but in the end, he had done what he thought was best for the pack. At least, that’s what Nanuq went with. Having no desire to talk ill of the dead, he fought to keep himself from addressing the former Alpha’s name in conversation. That legacy was left behind; a river had washed the palette clean. Nova ─ Luna ─ had stepped up, and while Nanuq sensed she still at least looked dubious at times, Nanuq praised her prosperity, her determination to plant the seed and water it to full bloom. He liked reminding her of it, too, although really, half the time he wondered if she solely acknowledged it to shut him up. Not that that would have stopped him from coming back. On the less humourous side, he liked knowing that Blaze was still around to support her. He knew the two had always been close. He supposed the level of concern he had towards Nova all went towards the fact that within just a short amount of time, unfamiliarity bordered the pack once more. He could only imagine what stressful situations would come forward with time.

His nosiness was on high alert that day, amber-orange eyes scouting the pack grounds as he soaked in the view of his fellow packmates. Gauge was by the pups. Both he and his sister had softer spots for the pups, but it went without a doubt that Gauge almost had an addiction ─ spoken with brotherly love, of course. He liked playing the uncle role, although with Blaze surprisingly more engaged in their little family than Nanuq would have ever suspected, he was more on backup pup sitter duty. Out of all of them, Nanuq felt himself naturally drawn to Niko. There was something about the young wolf that captured his attention. To be frank, in the cheesiest way, Nanuq saw himself in Niko. He had felt the weight of the avalanche metaphorically drop onto his back, but the cheeriness that luminesced off the younger ones felt like a breath of fresh air. Especially Niko, although as far as Nanuq was aware, Niko was clueless about this.

On the note of Niko, Nanuq couldn’t help but pop his head up at the odd energy that was radiating off the small group near the den that housed the pups. His brows furrowed and he rose to his paws, unsure what it was Gauge had just uttered to Niko, or vice versa. Whatever the case may be, it sent Niko running off in a rush. “Hey─” he tried to call out, though surely his voice was drowned out by the elevated breeze that occluded Niko’s ears as he sped out of the camp. Concern swept over his features, but when he looked back at his sister, her attention was back on the little ones. As if time stopped for him but sped up for everyone else, within another moment or two, a patrol had been sent out and Niko was still nowhere to be found. Castor appeared to be deep in conversation, and Nanuq knew best not to bother him. Pushing off, Nanuq trotted closer to Blaze and Nova, offering a quick dip of the head in greeting.

“Blaze, Luna,” he acknowledged quickly. “Excuse my absence, I want to make sure Niko doesn’t stray too far.” He almost squeezed his eyes shut with a shake of his head at his choice of words. Niko didn’t need to be watched at all hours of the day; he was young but he knew the boundaries of the pack. His eyes flickered between the two of them quickly, then excused himself with yet another nod of the head. Was he overreacting? It was possible; Niko knew how to look out for himself and Nanuq really had no context regarding what triggered the young wolf to head out on his own. But admittedly, Nanuq had grown more wary since the incident, more cautious and protective of his packmates. The least he could do was join the fighter for a stroll.

The soft mossy ground merged with thin lines of scratchy grass as the hunter exited the main campground. Nanuq was able to pick up Niko’s scent with ease; it was still fairly fresh, thanks to the lack of activity on the territory. It didn’t take long for him to set eyes on the dark wolf, who evidently appeared to be desperate to escape the lurking gazes within the pack. The irony of Nanuq being out here!

“Niko!” he called out in a cheery tone, genuinely glad to see him. The chances of it seeming as though Nanuq just so happened to stumble upon the other wolf were extremely slim, and Nanuq wasn’t going to try to put on a big act. As someone who was far from being fond of confrontation, Nanuq had no desire to take that approach. Instead, he slowed his pace and inhaled a deep breath of the dewy morning air. “It’s quiet out here,” he voiced contentedly, audibly appreciative of his observations. “What’re you doing out here? Anything suspicious to make note of, sly scout?”

Destiny's ears perked at Cypher’s words, the teasing laced with a depth she wasn’t sure she was ready to face. Her heart beat a little faster than usual, but she kept her smirk steady, making sure not to let it slip into something more vulnerable. He had a way of doing that, making everything feel lighter but more intense at the same time.

“Impressive, huh?” she chuckled, tilting her head as she turned to face him again, her eyes gleaming with playful challenge. “You should’ve seen it. I was quick, and I knew the best ways to slip past the patrols.” She stopped, though, at the question he posed. The one that felt like it was more than just casual curiosity. Destiny’s thoughts swirled as the idea of no pack lines, no responsibilities, seemed to stretch out in front of her like an open sky. It was a strange thought—one that felt both exhilarating and terrifying. What would she do if there were no boundaries? What would she chase after then?

For a moment, the sharp edge of her usual confidence dulled as she felt something else—something closer to longing. “Well,” she began, voice softer than usual, “maybe I’d keep running. But not from anything... from nothing." She paused, meeting his gaze with a rare vulnerability. “Maybe I’d go to the places I’ve only ever dreamed of, without worrying what I might leave behind. I could stand on top of a mountain and feel the wind all around me, no walls, no boundaries.”

Her eyes narrowed slightly, smirking again, the walls returning. “But I’m not some lost pup who needs saving, Cypher.” She shifted, trying to regain her old, sharp self, but there was a hint of something else now, a new layer to the challenge she’d thrown his way. “So, what about you? You talk about me breaking rules, but what would you do without all the pack’s expectations? Ever think about what you’d really want?”

Her words hung in the air, a mix of playful bravado and genuine curiosity. She knew he was watching her carefully, his unreadable gaze like a challenge in itself. But Destiny felt it—there was something real between them now, something more than just teasing, even if she wasn’t sure what it was yet.

Destiny’s eyes flickered over to Cypher for a brief moment before she turned her attention fully to Kiyu, the young wolf's words pulling her back into the present. The playful challenge in her voice never fully left, but the edges softened slightly as Kiyu dropped the elk leg at their paws. Destiny’s lips curled into a smile as she let out a light chuckle.

"Good morning, Kiyu," she greeted, her tone carrying warmth but still sharp enough to keep the playful tension in the air. She gave a brief nod toward Cypher, her gaze lingering on him for a heartbeat longer than necessary, before returning her focus to the elk leg. "That was quite the delivery, bringing this all the way here." She allowed her eyes to trail down to the meat with an approving look before meeting Kiyu’s gaze again.

Her playful smirk returned, eyes narrowing slightly as she leaned in a bit closer, her voice teasing. "But you’re not trying to get me to let everyone else eat first, are you?" She allowed the silence to hang in the air for just a moment, then added, "Well, I suppose I could share... if Cypher is up for it." The words were light, but Destiny’s gaze was sharp, as if daring him to respond.

She could feel the space between them stretch again, that flicker of something real lingering in the air, even as she kept her usual confident front. It wasn’t just teasing anymore. There was something more beneath it, something waiting to unfold. But for now, she would keep up the challenge, at least until she was ready to let it slip.

Blaze let the silence stretch for a moment, his mind replaying Nova’s words. She was right in many ways—no pack could be held together by only one individual’s strength. The fact that she was willing to shoulder the burden of leadership despite everything she’d inherited from Liberty spoke volumes. Blaze admired that, even if he never said it outright. He could see how much the responsibility weighed on her, but he also knew she was more than capable of carrying it.

"Yeah, no real purpose," Blaze agreed, though his voice carried a mix of humor and something more solemn. His eyes briefly flickered to the ground before meeting hers. "I’m sure you’re not the only one who felt that way when Liberty was in charge. It always seemed like his way was the only way... but then you stepped up, and we have a new chance to make something better."

Blaze’s tone softened, his expression growing more serious. He knew that Nova didn’t need to hear empty praises; she was strong, capable, and fierce in her own right. But it was important for her to know she wasn’t alone, that Blaze would be there to support her through all of it. He couldn’t speak for every wolf in the pack, but Blaze was loyal, and that was what mattered most. As Nova turned her focus to the delicate balance of the treaty, Blaze nodded in agreement, his brow furrowing slightly. “Tipping over like a newborn pup,” he repeated with a small, dry laugh, though his smile didn’t reach his eyes. He wasn’t blind to the challenges. “The stakes are high. With so many different wolves, egos, and loyalties at play, one wrong move, and it could all fall apart. But I trust you, Nova. I trust you to keep us grounded.”

There was a quiet assurance in his words, a vow to stand by her no matter what. Nova had the vision, and Blaze believed in her leadership. He had to, for the sake of the pack and for their future. When their conversation shifted to the pack’s adjustment to everything—Niko, the pups, the changes—it brought a weight to Blaze’s chest. "It’s a lot for him," he said softly, his tone almost wistful. "For all of us. But he’s not alone in it. We all have our burdens." He let his gaze linger on Nova he wanted to tell her everything, how he was feeling, how he felt suffocated however he had an appreciation for her empathy and understanding. She had a knack for seeing the bigger picture and recognizing how deep the wounds ran. "He’ll adjust. It’ll take time, but he’s strong. Stronger than most."

Blaze glanced over at the pups, who were busy playing in the distance, and felt a quiet pride stir in him. He was honored to be part of the guardianship for Niko, Gauge, and the pups. The weight of it wasn’t lost on him, and he would carry that responsibility without hesitation. "I won’t let him fall," Blaze reassured, his voice unwavering. "I've got him. Always." Blaze flicked an ear, sure he would assist and be a decent role model for the pups Gauge took in, however if you asked Blaze truly- the only one he claimed and would claim as his was Niko.

As Nova’s attention shifted once more to the scout mission, Blaze hesitated before responding. He met her gaze, sensing the underlying question in her eyes. “It was quiet out there,” Blaze began, his voice steady. "Too quiet, honestly. But we did manage to find Dante and Eros." There was a hint of disappointment in his voice as he spoke of the mission. "I was hoping for something more... something to shift the tides a little, but there was nothing major. No new threats or signs of trouble. Still, it left me uneasy. Finding them so easily seemed too good to be true. "

He paused for a moment, then glanced over at Nanuq as he approached. Blaze dipped his head slightly in acknowledgment, noticing the concerned look on his fellow packmate’s face. "Niko’s gone off on his own?" Blaze asked, his concern growing as Nanuq explained his reasons for leaving. He turned to Nova, his brow furrowing with a shared worry. "I know he’s strong, but... he’s young. He doesn’t always see the dangers lurking around the corner. I’ll go check on him if you want. Better safe than sorry, right?"

He met her eyes once again, and his gaze softened. "We’ve all been through a lot, but we’ve made it this far. We’ll keep going, no matter what comes our way." Blaze's voice was steady now, the hint of a smile curling at the corner of his lips as he added, "I’m not backing down, and neither are you.". He watched as Nanuq walked off to find Niko. Perhaps Blaze was crowding the young wolf too much - he didn't know how to be a parent, he didn't have parents for the longest time. He was still new to all of this.

River kept her stride steady as they approached the camp, but her gaze lingered on Hyuuga for a moment, her expression softening. She could sense his hesitance—there was something about him that didn’t fully settle into the present, as if he were still holding on to something from the past. It wasn’t hard to figure out that he was still grappling with the weight of everything that had happened. She had seen that kind of reluctance before, in others, and she understood it.

When he glanced at her, River offered a reassuring smile, her tail flicking a little in a relaxed gesture. She wasn’t sure if he would respond to it, but she wanted him to know that there was no rush. "Ready for what, exactly?" River asked softly, though it wasn’t a question she expected him to answer right away. “You’ve already been through a lot, and we’re here for you—however long it takes.”

Her voice was calm, gentle even, but there was a quiet authority to it. River wasn’t a leader in the traditional sense, but she had always been a rock for others when they needed it, a constant when the world around them shifted too fast. She could tell Hyuuga needed that, even if he didn’t know it yet. Her eyes flicked back toward the camp, noticing the familiar scents and sounds of home. It was strange to think about how much had changed over the moons, how different everything felt now. But in the end, they were still family. They would rebuild, just as they always did.

"Whenever you’re ready," she added, her tone inviting, but not pushing. "We’ve got time."

Nova
[ Rank ] Redmoon Luna [ Age ] 3 Years Old [ Crush ] Open [ Tag ]Blaze & Nanuq (briefly)

The silence began to swell between the pair for longer than Nova had anticipated. Both of them were probably rushing through things. To no surprise, all of their thoughts fueled the conversations they were having. Her eyes met Blaze's gaze once again, softening as he spoke. Her right ear twitched at the sound of his voice, attempting to make out the tone in which he spoke. [color=#40BFBF]"Without a doubt, I'm sure I'm not the only one who felt misplaced during his reign." she agreed with him.

At Blaze's respectable comment on her stepping to the plate to change the fate of Redmoon, she was pleased. Not because he had given her a compliment, but because he believed in her and always had. She never had to wonder what Blaze thought as expressive as he could be. The shift in conversation was almost refreshing, she didn't want to think about the treaty anymore. If anything she wanted to catch up with her old friend without it being about the pack.

"I expect it to be quiet, we moved far away from everything we know. Except for Starlight." the laugh that followed was dry and short. She wasn't opposed to being neighbors with them, but some days she wished the packs did not reside so closely. Her ear perked at the slightest sound of disappointment in his voice. She could understand why, when she arrived at Redmoon Dante and Blaze were nearly at each other's necks over Eros. The silly pup managed to scurry over to the Starlight's territory and his father was busy with his latest toy.

The pair were soon greeted by Gauge's brother, Nanuq. She had a small bit of experience with him. Quickly, she responded with a dip of her maw. "Good Morning, Nanuq." she spoke. Her ears leaned in his direction as he asked to be excused. She tilted her head curious as to why he would be missing, she received her answer shortly after that. He was going to go find Niko, funny enough they were just discussing the young wolf moments ago. Nobody had seen Niko in some time and truthfully, it wasn't like him to go this far for a long period of time. Something truly must be bothering him. Just before Nova could thank him for looking after Niko, he was off in a swift motion. Her eyes trailed after him and curiosity filled her mind.

With Nanuq out of the picture, Nova could return her focus on her friend. She slowly spun her cream maw to face Blaze once more. Her ears perked at his concern, "Don't worry too much, Blaze. Niko will find the way." she spoke, her words far wiser than she anticipated. She wish that there was something more she could say to calm the wolf's nerves from worrying about Niko. He was probably off somewhere trying to collect his thoughts.

As their eyes met in a seemingly sweet gaze, Nova reminded herself of a few things. Her eyes closed for a moment, thinking and contemplating. When they opened again, Blaze's eyes were softened and relaxed. A one sided small grin danced on her lips. He went on to mention how hard it has been for everyone, egging her in on something. She could not decipher what it was. Her head slightly tilted once more, curiousness banging to be answered. "Blaze" Nova called gently as he too watched Nanuq wander off behind Niko. "Do you need to talk?" she questioned. Hoping that she wasn't crossing one of their invisible boundaries. "It seems like there's something more. If you need an ear or a paw?"

There was nothing surrounding Niko but the sound of the wind howling and the remaining snow rushing with it. He had been out there for a few hours, staring over the cliff and into the abyss ahead. Niko hoped that his parents didn't find him selfish for his thoughts. It felt as if he didn't have enough time with his own parents and due to Gauge's wants he had to move over for the new adopted litter of pups. That was something he would never understand as he would never see the side of a maternal urge.

Niko deeply inhaled, thinking over his reaction to his parents this morning and his Luna. He felt that he may have over reacted when they were trying to seek out the problem. At the moment, he could not face them from the shame he felt. Acting as if he were still a mere pup who needed. In truth, he still needed the both of them. Growing up was a huge change and losing one of his close friends wasn't something he needed to add to that plate. Now he not only had to grow up, but to move over too. It felt as if Gauge were asking him of too much. However, that was a discussion for another time, when he didn't feel like his world had exploded in front of him.

He raised his maw to the sky, greeting the clouds above and released a sorrow howl. For the, presuming death of his friend, childhood, and shift in his life. He had to embrace the change and move on from this, which he would in over time. When he finished his howl, he allowed his gaze to flow behind him. Ensuring that no dangers would approach. Even if his elders did not see it yet, Niko had learned plenty from all of them about keeping himself safe. With Starlight at their hunches there was no way Niko would completely let his guard down.

A short distance away, Niko heard his name called. Someone had shown up, which could either go one of two ways. Niko's ears lowered and his eyes slit into squints until the form made himself known. The cheerful tone in which his name was called reminded him of his uncle, Nanuq. He watched as the hunter approached him and asked a simple question. Niko knew all too well that Nanuq would not hit him head on, investigating his behavior.

He met the wolf halfway, so they weren't at the edge of the cliffside anymore. Niko parked in front of him, straightened up his facial expression, but not to hide his problems. He didn't feel like explaining those just yet, but also wanted to prevent his uncle from potentially babying him. "Nothing suspicious." he led on. "Like you said, it's quiet here." Niko repeated. Niko found peace in his few hours lingering here. There was no command, no howling, barking, just silence. It gave one time to think over anything and everything possible. Maybe one day, he could show Blaze the area. While they didn't talk about it, he was sure that there was plenty on his shoulders too. He returned his attention to Nanuq, "I just wanted to sit and think. What brings you out here?"

[ Rank ] Starlight Hunter [ Age ] 1 Year Old [ Crush ] Kuroi[ Tag ] Cypher & Destiny > Open

Kiyu felt the gaze of the Luna finally land on her. Respectfully, she dipped her head at Destiny's greeting. She hoped that she wouldn't be reprimanded for coming over to them. It did look like they were having a intimate conversation. Kiyu couldn't help but to match Destiny's playful smirk. "Of course not" she jokingly played along ."{/color} She arched a brow at her Luna. [color=#40BF80]"At this point in my life I feel that it's a routine." she laughed a bit, remembering her younger days. Before the pack would eat, Kiyu used to bring her small pieces of meat to eat. Where Destiny was, Kiyu would keep track just so she could bring the Luna food. "You're typically busy around our meal times, so why not bring you a piece..." she spoke again before she dropped her gaze to the elk leg. "It was quite the tug on the way over." silence filled the air between them.

The young wolf cleared her throat, "As long as I'm around, I'll always make sure Luna, high ranks, and pups eat first." Although, it wasn't her mission to ensure that Destiny ate anything, it was a self pleasing thing for Kiyu. She went out of her way as often as she could to make sure that others ate. High ranks and pups being at the top of the list. "Well, I'll let you two get back to your date." she teased, a paw raised and off scurried young Kiyu. She walked back towards the hunters, eager to tell them what she saw. However, she knew better than to go gossiping about others business.

She approached the group of hunters and gave a quick nod. "I have given Destiny and Cypher their meal. The rest of us can eat." she spoke to them. Pleased that she was able to keep the flow of the pack moving. No one wanted to wait for them, but out of respect the pack would. Food had been rationed for the last couple of months with the pack getting readjusted to their new surroundings. So many things had changed from their last home. And it felt like an eternity to get back to a seemingly normal day. The hunter sighed softly as she joined the others around the carcass, waiting for one of them to signal the pack to their next meal.

Redmoon

Gauge- f- 3 y 3 mo- Fighter- bi- mate: Blaze- Niko/Kizo and Kioku- brought Azure to pack- Tags: River, Akiro, Hyuuga, Willow

The black phase she wolf tilted her head when Hyuuga spoke but then paused. Since, that point, he was speaking of Chi, she got it. She assumed he was trying to ask about the pups. She said “If…if you’re worried about the pups, they actually survived. I took them on, and have been raising them. Two little girls as pretty as their mother was,” she said with a small smile. She flicked her tail quickly back and forth a couple times. Almost as though she were wagging it, or honestly…not almost, she definitely was wagging her tail.

She nodded to the others, and led the way back. She paused once the camp had come into view, and she turned back to them. Asking “Hyuuga…are you ready?” as he’d seemed hesitant or worried before. Honestly, he could be both hesitant and worried.

Akiro- m- 2 y 3 mo- Fighter- homosexual- crush: Castor maybe, definitely Koll- Tags: Gauge, River, Hyuuga, Willow

The reddish looking male twitched darker ears. His darker tipped tail flicked, and he smiled a canine smile, just a bit. A ‘happy face’ as the humans would call it. He wagged his tail just a bit, and nodded at Willow when she responded to him about the wolf her own age. He said “there’s also a pup that I think is only five months younger than you. Plus the two she pups. The ones Gauge just spoke to Hyuuga about.” He said these words after Gauge had told Hyuuga that the two pups had survived.

He then followed after the dark furred female. Looking back at the others from time to time, as River and Willow conversed. He could see those two becoming friends, perhaps. They arrived to the camp, and Gauge was asking Hyuuga if he was ready.

Azure- m- 7 mo- pup- likes boys- crush: Eros- Tags: Kizo, Kioku

The blue-gray pup and white pup tilted his head as he looked at the two of them. “Why do you two seem so disappointed?” he asked. He then shook his head, before nodding at them both. “It definitely is boring at times…I agree, let’s plan as we eat.” He sniffed the air a bit, then shook his head.

Starlight

Yuui- m- 9 mo- pup- boys- crush: Eros- Tags: Goliath

The pretty but still handsome male blinked his blue and brown eyes. He nodded as he looked at the bigger male. He’d tilted his head when the other had paused and stood normally. When the other began to speak, now Yuui understood, so he nodded. He said “Okay,” and let the other come over by him. He let the other male place his paws properly, so Yuui had the proper stance. He really didn’t know about fighting…but he was going to learn. He’d probably end up becoming a hunter. Knowing fighting moves was definitely good, though. He said “Don’t let them have the advantage…right,” and flicked his tail a couple times.” He nodded once more at the bigger male. Saying “Don’t intimidate, I’m there to prove myself…I understand.”

He then twitched as he heard a howl…Glancing to Goliath, he said “Oh…the hunters must have brought food back. Should we…should we continue, or wait until after the meal?” He was asking to be polite, but he realized he actually was kind of hungry.

Kuroyuki- m, f at times- 2 y 9 mo- hunter- crush: Mikage, Ermin- Tags: Ermin, Yomi, Kuroi, Kiyu

The black phase one flicked their white tipped tail back and forth. He turned his attention to Ermin, and nodded at him. They said “I don’t know if the two of them would have left camp just to talk…I guess they could have left the camp, though.” He twitched his ears and flicked his tail, looking around once more.

When Kiyu returned, he nodded to her. He glanced around, but didn’t see too many of the others, so he glanced to the meat. He then lifted his muzzle to the air, and let out a howl. Telling the others of the pack that there was food here to be eaten. He figured some of them must have smelled it by now. If any of them were out of camp, or somewhere they couldn’t smell it or just weren’t paying attention, he had to account for that. Thus, he let out a bowl. Then waited to see if any wolves showed up, while also nodding to the others that they could eat now.

Miracle- f- 1 y 3 mo- healer- crush: Yomi- Tags: Scythe, Yuui

The golden-cream slender and slightly smaller female nodded at her. She said “I heard the oil is good for pregnant she wolves. I don’t think any of our pack mates are pregnant…Some of them must like fish, though, and I don’t think any of them are allergic.” She lowered her head to quickly peel scales off. She ate the two tiny fish, then went back to the water. Determined to catch a bigger fish or two. She muttered “I’m going to get a bigger fish this time…I definitely will.”

Starlight Pack |Female | Luna |4 years | crush: open | tags: Cypher, Kiyu
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Destiny chuckled softly as she watched Kiyu scurry off, her teasing remark lingering in the air. She shook her head in amusement before glancing at Cypher. "She never changes, does she?" There was warmth in her tone, a quiet appreciation for Kiyu's unwavering dedication to the pack. Her gaze shifted toward the hunters in the distance, noting how seamlessly Kiyu fit into the rhythm of their routine. It was a subtle yet powerful reminder of how much their pack had endured and how each member played a part in holding them together.

With a contented sigh, Destiny turned her focus back to her meal, but not before murmuring under her breath, "She may not realize it, but the pack is lucky to have her."

Blaze exhaled softly, his gaze lingering on the path Nanuq had disappeared down. Nova’s question hung in the air between them, pressing on the weight he had been carrying. His ears twitched, and for a moment, he debated brushing it off, burying it like he had done so many times before. But this time felt different. He was tired of pretending everything was fine.

A wry chuckle escaped him as he finally turned to meet Nova’s eyes. “You always could see right through me, huh?” His voice was quieter now, laced with something heavier. He scraped his claws against the earth absentmindedly before continuing.

“I don’t know, Nova... Everything just feels like it’s moving too fast. Like I blinked and suddenly, I’m here, in this place, in this... relationship and my new role . And I don’t know if it’s where I’m meant to be for one of those aspects.” His jaw tightened, frustration creeping into his features. “It’s not that I don’t care. I do. But I feel... trapped. Like I didn’t have the time to stop and ask myself if this is really what I wanted before I was already in too deep. One second, I was trying to keep everything together, trying to do what was right, and the next, I was bound to something that I’m not sure was ever my choice." Blaze sighed, allowing a more unknown side of himself to appear. " I've worked so hard since I arrived in the pack as a pup. I promised I'd always be the best. Focus on pack first and myself later.”

He let out a bitter laugh, shaking his head. “Maybe it’s selfish, but I can’t help but wonder—did I make the right choice? Or did I just go along with what felt expected of me? Because that’s how it feels, like I was swept into a current and never got the chance to stop and think about where I was actually going.” His amber eyes flickered with uncertainty as he searched Nova’s face, half-expecting judgment, half-hoping for the understanding she had always shown him.

His expression softened as he exhaled, his thoughts shifting. “The one thing I don’t regret—what I know with every part of me—is Niko,” he admitted, his voice steady despite the storm inside him. “I love that pup more than anything. Being his parent, raising him, watching him grow into his own... That’s the only part of my life that feels right. No matter what else happens, he’s my family, and I’d do anything for him. And I never thought i'd say that. Ever.”

Blaze’s gaze softened, a small, fleeting smile tugging at the corner of his mouth as he thought of Niko. “He’s the best thing that ever happened to me. I don’t care what I have to face, or what I have to endure—I’d go through it all if it meant making sure he’s safe and happy.” His voice held a rare certainty, an unwavering devotion that burned through the doubt clouding the rest of his thoughts. But as quickly as the warmth came, it faded, replaced by the weight of everything else pressing down on him. “But everything else?” He exhaled sharply, shaking his head. “I just... I don’t know anymore. I don’t know what I want. I don’t even know if I had a choice to begin with.”

Blaze fell silent, the words hanging between them, raw and unfiltered. He hadn’t meant to spill so much, but with Nova, it felt natural—like she was the only one who would truly understand.

Nanuq allowed his paws to naturally plant themselves into the mossy forest floor, feeling the soft, sponge-like texture itch at his paw pads as his weight relaxed more into the ground. From afar, a soft bird twitted for its partner within the depths of the blooming trees. No response came; it was almost as if it was hushing its acquaintance, demanding it read the room. Perhaps more background noise was better; the quieter it was, the more intense it felt, in Nanuq’s mind. Silence only persisted when trouble was around the corner. For a fleeting moment, as his eyes bore into Niko’s backside, he felt a sting of guilt, Blaze’s concerned expression popping into his mind. He wasn’t particularly close to Blaze, but between his own observations and what Gauge had chatted about, he knew the lead fighter possessed a lot of love for the young fighter who stood just a few tail lengths away. It had always been a silent goal of Nanuq’s to ensure Blaze he wasn’t trying to step into his spot. Goodness, he was in no position, mindset or otherwise, to parent! He liked thinking of himself as a friend to Niko, but he understood if it came across as attempting to push the lead fighter out of the way. That was what Blaze had been discussing with Nova, right? His concern for his adopted son? Nanuq had only caught a whisker length of their quiet conversation, but the energy had suggested Blaze was in a state. Or perhaps it had been Nova. Nanuq wasn’t about to pry, now or any other time. It wasn’t his business, even if his curiosity was poking at his senses. Technically, Niko’s business wasn’t his, either, although evidently, that hadn’t stopped him from galloping after the young wolf’s trail.

Nanuq had to admit, he admired the way Niko held himself. He was young, but sustained a level of maturity Nanuq himself surely did not have at that age. Then again, with the recent events, he supposed it was difficult not to let that have an impact in some way. That didn’t sit well with him. Young wolves should have the opportunity to stretch their legs, roll around in mischief and learn their lessons while exploring. He couldn’t change anything that happened, Mother Nature ran her course for a reason, but it didn’t stop him from feeling such ways. Perhaps that was another reason why he took off as quickly as he had: Mother Nature had been temperamental lately. They were going on three moons living in their territory, but unfamiliarity still lurked in the shadows, around the trees, and in the bushes. One could never expect the unexpected, especially not now.

“Thinking can be a dangerous thing,” he mused half-heartedly, flicking his tail once. “You discover some real odd things about yourself.” Nanuq felt it was his purpose to keep the conversation light, and now was no different. He didn’t come closer, though he was relieved Niko wasn’t so close to the cliffside anymore. “Your own shadow scare you out of the camp?” Again, that soft joking resonance still lingered in his voice. Letting out a comfortable sigh, Nanuq took a seat, allowing his tail to curl around his paws. “Did anything interesting pop out of that clever mind?”

Nova
[ Rank ] Redmoon Luna [ Age ] 3 Years Old [ Crush ] Open [ Tag ]Blaze & Nanuq (briefly)

The Luna grew pleased with herself that she was able to pick up on his emotions. If he must know, his body language gave him away, something was off and Blaze wasn’t being his usual self. His shift in demeanor caught her attention and she wanted to speak on it. If he needed her to listen to his worries, she would. That was the type of friendship that the pair incurred over the last year. Crazy, it had only been a year and Nova had felt closer to Blaze than anyone else. He accepted her since day one and made sure she felt welcomed, not a feeling she would ever forget. “I know you more than you think.” she toyed with him. She wanted to keep things light if possible.

His voice dropped, signaling that something truly was wrong. Her eyes met his gaze, glistening with sympathy, as he spewed over all of the changes he’d gone through. Nova said nothing, but nodded every now and again to let him know that she was listening to him. Something Nova had learned over the years was to observe wolves closely, their behavior would tell everything she needed to know. From the way Blaze went on, she knew that it had to have been difficult for him to keep all of it bottled in. His emotions were like magma, slipping through the crust of the earth, just before the volcano erupts. It was good that he was expressing himself, Dark honey eyes patrolled his features before she slowly drew closer to him. The urge to comfort him grew stronger with the gap closing between them. Nova leaned forward until her maw touched his cheek, rubbing down to the nape of his neck. For a moment their bodies briefly embraced one another. Her lids closed, covering her eyes as she embraced Blaze in what could be seen as a hug.

Standing there with her head on his shoulders, she couldn't resist the scent breezing off of him. The smell of musk from their earthly abode dance upon her nose. When her eyes opened again, they widened. She had never gotten this close to Blaze and due to the past with Gauge's jealousy it wouldn't be a good look if anyone saw. Instantly, she backed away her mind initially wanting to regret embracing him - fearing she overstepped some boundaries. Her eyes innocently flickered up at him, like a pup who'd done something wrong. "I'm sorry if I crossed a boundary.. I just.." she stopped herself, trying to muster the right words. Her voice nearly trembled for the first time.

Hearing Blaze talk about his love for Niko warmed Nova's heart. She loved knowing that Niko was well taken care of and loved by Blaze and his mate. The both of them seemed to cherish the young wolf and natured him into something great. Nova took two steps back until they were face to face again. Her attention was caught in his amber eyes, they held so much in them. It was like their eyes could have a conversation without a single word coming from their lips. "You're doing an amazing job with Niko." she praised him, although he did not need it.

The air had become stiff, stripped completed of it's ripples by the overwhelming emotion. Between the two of them, the high emotions made the silence seem deafening. If television existed in their world, this moment would be a black screen when the tv idles for too long. The sun had begun to melt the snow beneath their feet, some areas faster than others. Nova glanced at the ground to see little flecks of green blades rest on the ground, still under the snow's spell. Hesitantly, she lifted her gaze until it rest on Blaze once more. The snow was melting, just like him. "Maybe take a moment to think things over. One thing at a time." she fixed he posture and brought out her confidence. She needed him to know that everything was going to be okay, despite how it feels like the ship is sinking.

It was good to hear the lead fighter speak with pride about keeping Niko in his life - no matter what. The she wolf let a small smile slip the side of her maw, the top of her lips curling slightly and showing her teeth. "You truly do love that boy." she repeated. "He's not the problem here and never has been. I don't want to pry, but what exactly do you feel rushed into?" she asked. From what she had gathered it was everything, but to help him better navigate the crazy motion, she needed something - specific.

The Luna leaned forward towards the end of his speech. Not feeling as if he had a choice in anything that had happened in his life over the last few months. Rolling over everything that he may have gone through seemed like a toll. Nova clearly was not the only one who had a hefty weight resting on her shoulders. "Talk to me."
