The bay varnish pinto stallion moved across an open meadow, his harks perked up and swiveling atop his chiseled head, listening to his surroundings and focusing on the horses moving around him. There were many lone bachelors--some older, some younger. However, neither Nitrogen or any of the others made a move to fight over nothing but air, so he snorted and turned, trotting towards the watering hole at the declivity of a hill. Licking his rubbery lips, he was reminded of how dry his throat was. Walking into the water, his legs stirred it up and sent ripples towards Lucina, a young bay mare a few horse lengths away from him. He turned his attention to her and nickered gently after quenching his thirst.

"Hello." She smiled, reaching out to the stallion with her muzzle in order to sniff him. "Who are you? I don't believe I've seen you before..."

Noticing the ripples in the water, she lifted her muzzle from the water and looked to what caused it. Seeing an unfamiliar horse, the bay mare flattened her ears and took several steps away from the water hole. She didn't reply, instead she stared at him cautiously. She didn't know who this horse was, she didn't trust others easily. "Who are you?" She nickered, her body tense.

"My name is Midnight Spark, but you can call me Spark." He whinnied and looked her over, "Who are you, miss?"

"It's nice to meet you, Spark." She smiled, swishing her white tail. "I'm Zelda's Lullaby, but everyone just calls me Lullaby."

"Its a pleasure to meet you, Miss Lullaby." He nickered to her

"So, are you alone?" She asked, glancing around briefly then looking back to Spark. "I don't see anyone else with you." He seemed like a bachelor, but she could've been wrong.

"Yes I am alone." He nickered and looked at her, "I have no mares." Spark snorted. He took in her features as he looked at her.

Shura looked at his two mares.

"I see..." She said. "I'm also alone. My mom kicked me out of the herd recently...I know I can't stay with them forever but I miss my family..." She sighed. She hadn't been gone from her birth herd for long, but she already missed them. She knew that all young horses left their herd once they were old enough to venture on their own, but she wished she could've stayed with them a little longer.
