Althea walked back into the pack camp, and into the healers’ den. She set down her herbs she had gathered and organized them. She greeted Maison with a wave of her tail as she saw him while walking into the den. She began organizing the herbs she had brought back. “I brought back a a few herbs I saw we were running low on,” she said to Maison, poking her head out the den. She stopped as she saw he was mid conversation. “Oops,” she muttered under her breath.

Destiny offered a small smile to Dante's response "You know I value your input. I trust you most" she commented quietly as she walked beside her lead fighter. As they walked through the forest her ears listened for any voices of their pack-mates. She didn't want to speak of concerns with anyone in earshot, that was a sure way to cause inner pack issues.
"North sounds good. And Hutten is a good patrol lead, she has a good heart" Destiny replied with a nod of her head. As they continued walking she sighed, this conversation wouldn't be easy and she wasn't sure on how bring it up. With a sigh she began.
"I'm concerned about Tide" she admitted with a brief pause before continuing to walk towards the border "he seemed like the prime choice at the time. He was very pack focused and had a good head on him. I'm not sure if it's the pressure or what but he's distant and you are the one whose been covering for him and doing his role"

She shook her head and proceeded listening to the other wolves gathered onto the patrol. Her fur rustled softly with the gentle breeze. she was thankful to get out of camp but couldn't help but feel out of place with some of her pack mates. River flicked her tail as they left the camp. She raised her head to scent the air as they walked. Castor mentioned her name and River nodded at the direction to go with him. She started drifting towards the right but not enough to where she was going off on her own.

Blaze nodded with Liberty confirming no one else needed to be recruited to the patrol, his tail flicked as his attention turned to Gauge beginning to speak. Trying to make an effort, he opened his mouth and replied "Good, and you?" he asked as Liberity spoke. Blaze's ears pricked at the mention of concerns. What is he concerned about? He wondered.
As they walked towards the exit of the camp, Blaze trailed the back of their small patrol, his eyes scanning for any potential intruders or any markings out of line.

Kaija; Redmoon Hunter; tags Labrador and Jessie

Kaija nodded and looked down to Labrador and Jessie, he didn't say anything but nodded his head to the left and swung his body to turn. He could smell all kinds of things. Starlight's scent marks wafted in the breeze, he could smell pollen being knocked loose by bees, he could even smell the fresh grassy scat of rabbits hiding in the tall grass. Rabbits wouldn't do however. Kaija gave pause, though, as the bellow of a buck traveled across the meadow. Where there was one, perhaps there were more. He knew deer were solitary during the day, but gathered to gossip and ruminate with their brothers and sisters. Bucks were friendly to each other until rut, and often guarded the edge of the doe and fawn during these gatherings.
"Did you hear that?" His ears stood stock still only flicking for sound, "Maybe we'll find something bigger than just an Herla."
He stepped aside to allow one of his packmates to take the lead. Kaija was large and didn't want to give away their location by a heavy mistep.

Elle; Starlight Hunter; tags Mikage and Athea

Before the redmoon closed in on the Meadow Elle was already scarce. Trotting back proudly with a fairly fresh river otter carcass clamped in her jaws. She may have nibbled a little, just to make sure it was safe you know.

Her pads pressed the earth with a great and rare confidence when she came into the packs gathering grounds and she pranced straight to the den with her head high. The body dangled more clumsily than Elle moved, but it didn't seem to break her stride.

"Look what I found!" She exclaimed after dropping the carcass between Mikage and Athea.

The darker ears and darker tipped tail moved a bit. She nodded as Castor said who was to go with whom, and walked closer to Labrador and Kaija. She nodded her head silently to both of them. She followed Kaija, until the bigger male paused. She'd heard the sound as well, so she said "Yes, I heard that." She then glanced to Labrador, as Kaija stepped back. "Labrador, do you...want to lead, or should I?" It seemed Kaija wanted one of them to lead now, after all.

They let a small sigh leave them as Ellkan spoke. They nodded to the fighter, however, and watched Daisy run off. "Daisy! Wait for us," they called after the young one. They wondered if she'd even be up for helping gather herbs, now...They shook their head, and headed out of the den. They glanced back at Ellkan a moment, and just watched him. "I guess one of us needs to go find Liberty and tell him. Do you want to do it, or should I?" they asked, though being the healer it should probably be them.

He made a small sound when Althea walked in and spoke. He shook his head, and glanced at her as he wondered. "Have you by any chance seen Daisy?" he asked. He hoped the pup had stayed in the camp...but he had no idea if she had or not.

Deep foresty green eyes with gold ringing the pupils looked between them. The white foot black phase she wolf gave a small smile. "It's good to hear you slept well, Blaze. I...slept fine," she said with a small nod, then glanced to their alpha. "Alright, we'll talk while we walk." She then fell silent as she followed, trying to think what else to say. She was a little worried to hear Liberty hadn't slept easy. "I'm sorry to hear you worried about us, and couldn't sleep easy..." she said.

The still handsome aging male shook his head. The black-phase wolf looked at her, and tilted his head a bit. He huffed at the old timer comment...but he knew he was elderly. He nodded at her, saying "Yes, I suppose I should be available for those. I wonder if Yomi and Kuroi would want to hear a story. Maybe even Kairo would want to hear one," he said. He let out a small breath as she spoke again. "Okay...okay, well...then you should probably be off, to gather others."

The white muzzled shadowy one nodded at the healer. "Is there...a way to get him to eat more?" they asked, then made a small sound. "Foxleap...maybe it'll heal," they said. They knew broken bones could heal, you just had to stay off of it long enough.

As the small group padded along after exiting the campgrounds his yellow eyes began to search for signs of intruders or any other unwanted visitors that could cause trouble. His head swiveled around occasionally to see something more clearly before once again looking ahead. Since he now stood on the opposite shoulder of Gauge he caught a glimpse of blaze doing the same. Part of the patrol wasn't just about getting to the destination it was also about insuring no one else has been through their pack territory. He was pleased. While on alert he responded to Gauge after she apologized, “Winter showed that as of this morning it is here. I know you as individuals have the potential to be okay, but I fear the shortage of food. As the cold forces trees and other vegetation into a withered state, our choices of prey become slimmer. I don't want any of you to starve so my mind wonders how could I solve that.”, his voice transitioned from a caring deepness to a dry worried tone towards the end of his statement. “It is my duty and obligation to solve these things. Don’t apologize.” He added saying it softly hoping not to alarm them with his own worries. His gaze fell on both of them for a moment as they trotted along before returning to watching for hazards or intruders as they traveled to the border. Somewhere deep in his heart, he knew he could not solve the hunger they were sure to endure this winter. He didn't mean to openly vent to the wolves around him which only showed his need to fill his remaining leadership roles.

The heart of the ebony brute had grown cold but he appreciated knowing he had her trust, “It is part of my job to provide honest input.”, his voice grumbled. Now that the two were side by side when he responded he was looking at Destiny he could tell that she was listening for nearby eavesdroppers. He was not as worried about dealing with an extra bit of audience because he could care less. He knew two things right now which took precedence over any other thought and that was the Alpha’s concern with a wolf and who would refill the empty position should that wolf be demoted. Dante’s mind wondered who? Destiny made logical choices when placing wolves in the ranks. After his response, his gaze returned to the terrain in front of him being mindful of hazards.

He was surprised when Destiny complimented Hutten, he had never thought of her personality that way. He assumed she was content to follow orders and just stay a grunt, but maybe he was wrong. Dante nodded in agreement from now on he would pay more attention to Hutten and those the she-wolf would interact with.

He was pulled from the silence of his thoughts when he heard Destiny sigh heavily assuring Dante that this conversation would be about someone important needless to say he was excited to see who failed to uphold the expectations of the Alpha. Finally, Destiny said what she needed to, afterward taking a brief pause from walking. He was not surprised or upset when Tide’s name was mentioned. He was joyous it was not himself or anyone else. He responded during the brief break, “Tide? Can't say I am surprised.” he said in a neutral way trying to be natural about it. When Destiny Resumed walking and talking he followed while listening nodding his head to assure Destiny that she was heard when she made solid points. “I would never question your judgment. I agree he did seem otherwise indisposed and lacked any input to your decisions. Maybe you are correct and it's the pressure. Or maybe he is completely incapable of performing his duties.” he said with full intent on slandering the wolf. After a couple of silent steps, he said something, “If he can't lead then I will.” he said in response to Destiny’s comment about Dante covering Tide’s role when Tide is despondent or unavailable.

“What do you otherwise wish to accomplish by sharing this with me Destiny?” his deep voice grumbled as they trotted along to the border.

She tilted her head a bit listening to Kikui speak honestly just disappointed the seed she laid down didn’t flourish in his old mind. She, of course, wouldn't just outright ask the old man to come along out of fear of rejection but in a way, she couldn't expect Kikui to understand what she was trying to do if she wasn't straightforward with him. She figured that this was the ending point of their conversation after Kikui’s last statement then decided to take her leave and patrol by herself. indentation Glancing back at their pack-mate the canine hummed glancing at a low-hanging tree branch that just so happened to have a fair amount of snow on it. Patrols were admirably a little boring, so one had to make up their own fun. If only so one didn't go insane. Keeping their face straight and as neutral as possible the dame slowed their pace until the two were side by side. Doing their best to not make their plan obvious, they suddenly lunged at an angle and pulled on the tree branch in an attempt to shake the snow off so it would potentially land on both of them.

indentation Sniffening the male growled low in his throat, "Time to rock, Zary." He muttered softly, as the lumbering brute of a creature came into view. Snapping into focus as the beaver started its way down towards the river, the brute surged forward, unwilling to let it get any closer to its escape. Throwing himself in front of it snarling and snapping at the air, not willing to get too close to those teeth. With a few snapping lunges Skoll started to corral the beast towards Zareen, mildly interested in how she would proceed. I'm not sure how she's going to tackle it, but at least it'll give me more information.

indentation Eyes rapidly flickering between the many wolves, Hati huffed, and muttered, "I'm going to give y'all more room to work." Shaking her head, the she-wolf darted away, and dashed out of camp, intent on getting a few moments to herself. If only to relax her nerves. Though she'd have to remember to snap at Foxleap later, she didn't know the exact predicament, but she was sure the younger she-wolf had been reckless. The pack didn't need any kinds of career-ending injuries, not only was it winter but while the odd not-war but not-peaceful times they had with the Red Moon Pack. Shaking her head the red-brown she-wolf ran aimlessly around Starlight pack territory.

He watched as the three wolves walked the way he asked them to go, rather surprised that any of them didn't argue back, instead taking his orders immediately. He gave a look back at him for a while before smiling "you know River, do you want to take a lead for our side of the hunt now? Don't worry I am not going to go anywhere, but this could give you something different to learn about?" he said to her.

He followed the two other wolves his ears perking to any side as he listened to the area around them. His eyes blinked to Kaija when he gave them the look "Castor gave you the lead role, if you're afraid of being too big to be seen, I don't think that's a problem. Your size doesn't matter only how you use that matters" he responded even if the hunter didn't say anything about his size, but he kind of figure it out. He looked at Jessie "you don't seem to want to lead either, the way you asked that but I am not that great when leading, but we can always make a plan to surround some of those. and your big size is the best thinks against those big animals" he said.

He took a long and nice nap in the den, but the bright sunlight coming to his nest forced him to wake up. He opened his tired eyes and was confused about what time of day it was now, likely afternoon as the sun was still up and the camp seemed very quiet. Shooking his dark pelt the warrior got out of the den, blinking his eyes as he tried to look around the camp. There was nothing big in the fresh-kill pile, except for a hare or two, but it didnät really bother him. He took one of the already cold prey and started to eat it.

She followed the lynx's steps, but they seemed to get into a circle now, almost like the big cat was found something and chased it. The steps were going toward the Starlight pack's borders just like she was afraid of, so she stopped "let's try somewhere else..." she said to her sister. She know that there could be some bigger prey around like deer or maybe elks, but for two young hunters those could be too big of a risk to try, she was looking for something smaller. Sniffing the air her ears perked toward the nearby tree, hearing something crashing leaves there, before seeing two squirrels either playing or fighting each other it was hard to say as they were focusing on each other. She took her position to stalk those two squirrels, hoping that her sister could not do anything reckless.

She watched the lynx steps going here and there, seeing some smaller steps here as well, which told the story that the big cat was chasing something a few moments ago. She looked after her sister when she as well heard the crashing and saw some movements going on near some trees there. Her eyes focused on the two squirrels, knowing that her sister was planning to catch them both or at least one of them.

"I don't want to startle the herd if there is one," He looked around them, taking in the environment. "That herla sounded large and healthy, so one wrong move and it would spring and be gone."
He thought for a moment what Castor said, "I am good at one thing, and that's holding the prey."
He took note of the treeline, watched it carefully for any sign of movement. There was nothing that stirred in the borders of the meadow. Another bellow echoed off in the distance.
"Let's go into the trees, to see what we can see from there. Cover will help me surely. If we see a herd, well fetch River and Labrador. Labrador and I can position ahead of the herd, and the rest of you can run them to us. With 2 catchers even the healthiest buck doesn't stand a chance."
He paid extra attention to the weight of his steps, his paws sank into grass as he padded slowly to the woods. There was only the slightest sound of the blades rubbing against one another. Making Kaija lead wasn't always the greatest idea, though the wolf was good at one thing, and that was the chase. His father taught him well at the very least. It nagged at him though, if he failed, he didn't only bring shame to himself but also that to a hungry pack. His body seemed to shrink into the shadows of the underbrush, he made sure to enter at a green bush. New leaves made less noise, their fresh growth soft like velvet. He slinked along the edge of the treeline just inside of it, staying mindful of pine needles and fallen leaves. His eyes darted the meadow, watching for any sign of a gathering.

"Between us," She turned her head away and smirked with pinned ears, "I didn't hunt this."
She looked back to Mikage, erected her ears, " The valley is quiet. Only ravens, that's how I found this. They make such a fuss."
She looked at the healers den. Wolves were occupied and paid no mind to anything else. "We'll say you caught it. It had only been laying since last night. It's fresh enough, no one will know the difference."

Destiny nodded listening to Dante's confidence, it was one of the reasons she admired him. She was a little taken aback with his "not surprised" comment, but Dante also saw more sides of the pack members than she did. It was another reason she went to him for advice. As Dante confirmed her thoughts and concerns, Destiny's ears flattened. "ugh. I just wish it would of worked out. Now I look like a squirrel brain for not assessing him better" she muttered scolding herself before moving back to Dante's comments.

His words rang in her ears 'if he can't lead then I will' , she nodded, her decision made as Dante finished his next sentence Destiny stopped and looked Dante in complete seriousness "You are going to be Beta for now Dante. You will promote someone to Lead Fighter for the time being until you and I can find someone who will do their job properly" she flicked her tail, before adding "I'm not keeping you permanent beta because I believe you are a good lead for the fighters. You keep them in line and I like how they respect you. I don't think someone could be better at that role than you" she finished her sentence with a nod

River paused hearing Castor's words, she turned to look at the lead hunter "Are you sure? no one has let me take lead before and I don't want to over step" she rambled for a moment before taking a deep breath and telling herself to calm down. Her mother would of whacked her with a paw by now. Rolling her shoulders back, River nodded and raised her head, scenting the air once again as they walked the forest.

Blaze paused listening to Liberty's concerns , he was a fighter sure, but he did have knowledge brief hunting knowledge and skill "we could start looking for small prey on the borders. If we are patrolling and see something it could be worth one of the wolves breaking away to look at. Or add a hunter onto the border patrol potentially" he suggested padding to catch back up. Blaze shook his fur as they walked, "It may be your duty, but you don't need to face these issues alone" Blaze pushed against his Alpha's shoulder in an encouraging way
