Inferno just kept moving. "No. I will he fine." The stallion said simply and continued onward. He needed to get to Iris on his own. He had failed in defending her. Taking a long breath he released a loud and shrill neigh for her. Inferno would not be stopped by a little pain. Ignoring the sting he moved on and shook his mane.

Feather wracked her brain, this illness was new to her, she really didn't know what to do, but she felt so sorry for the stallion. He had lots if mares who were all very worried about him. "I-I don't think I know anything, but I'll keep thinking" she nickered to Cloud, nuzzling him gently as she continued to think up some way to help.

Dancer gave a nod and very gently nuzzled him before moving back slowly. She hated to leave him, but he needed to get Iris. If worst came to worst she would go after them to help, but for now, the more horses there were, the harder it would be. The cremello cantered back through the snow, following Night's familiar scent to track down her friend.

Nightingale sqealed as one of the humans, shot a dart at her. Jumping to the side the dart hit a tree, She whinnied as one of the lead ropes was making her way, she jumped shaking her head pushing the human away from her. Before making a mad dash towards the woods.

Broken nuzzled her gently "Worry not my love.." he murmured lipping her ears gently. Seeing her tense muxcles made him frown. "Relax Harmony...theres..got to be something more bothering you?"?"

Lucky nodded and trotted forward, nearer Inferno. He stopped behind Cloud, so not to stress the other stallion too much. His nostrils started to flare as he recognised the illness. Collic! When Lucky still lived at the stables, sometimes the horses got collic. Then the humans gave stuff to them and stayed all night long with the sick horse. Unfortunately, he did not know anything that could help.

Rosie galloped on after Strong Wind, knowing her eagle brother always helps her out. Unusually, the eagle called for Rose to follow, then swooped down to a group of horses (Inferno, Cloud, Feather, Lucky, some other horses). But Windy swooped over one particular stallion... Rosie took a miniture step forward, narrowing her eyes and stretching her neck to see. Then the image hit her. It was the stallion who had rescued her, now in trouble. Maybe the mare wouldn't join his herd, although she might help him, returning the favour. The eagle perched onto a tree branch when it was satisfied his horse sister got the picture. Rose galloped to the bay stallion. She immediately knew it was collic, as she had got it before. Although, in the past, she had many illnesses, so she had to flick through the booklet of illnesses and cures in her head. Before she found it, the mare gently nipped on his neck and nibbled his ear, hoping the pain might keep him... awake.

Inferno turned at a nip, recognizing Rose. Turning fom her to Wonder he wondered why these mares would trouble themselves with trying to help. All he knew was that he needed help and soon. But first he had to find Iris. It took him exactly twenty-seven gradually slowing steps hefore he had to lie down. Just for a bit. It was a half tumble as he let himself lower, nighing to his lost Iris again.

{i know that a vet would administer a pain med and or lubricant...methinks. }

The eagle called for Rosie. When she turned around, as if by magic, the cure popped into her head. A plant. A special plant could cure, or help, colic. Although it was near impossible to find... When she got colic herself, she simply got lucky. {WB, its nearly 3 in the morning}

"Rose...I will be fine. I need her back." It was surprising just how determined he was to protect his mares. He would have been torn in two if Dancer had not been around to check on Night. Inferno soon got himself back up, heading back along in the direction the humans had gone. Speeding up to a canter, he could begin to smell the scents of a human establshment. She had to be there. There. On the horizon was the silhoutte of a building, the scent of horses coming with it. The bay snorted at a sting from his abdomen and rose to a quicker gait, leaving behind the ones that wanted to help. Another neigh escaped him.

Iris's head shot out of her stall as she heard Inferno. She gave a small panicked whinny and started rearing at the door. Scott came forwards and tried to calm her down. He put on a halter and lead rope and took Iris out of her stall. She instantly shot for the exit barn. Scott yelled something and started chasing after her. Stable hands started trying to block her off. Panicking and worried about Inferno she reared and almost hit a stable hand. The blue roan mare snorted loudly keeping her ears up and perked towards the woods. The ranch was surrounded by a fence a low fence. But little did Iris know that the fence was electric to keep out rampaging animals. She almost ran over a stable hand to get to the fence. She raced towards the fence. With her hock still wrapped up, she had no rhythm which made her running uneasy. She whinnied again and charged towards the fence getting closer and closer. Time seemed to stop as she pushed off her slender back legs. Her heart lurched as a giant shock went up her back leg as she smacked it against the electric wire. It sent her off balance. Down Iris went, onto her chest. Scott was there in a flash on his saddled mare with Duke. She was wrapped to Duke in the blink of an eye. As Scott saw Inferno's figure he screamed. "Stallion!"

Inferno forgot about his pain. Seng Iris go down further enraged him. They had the right to see him as a threat. Giving a snort he sped up to a gallop, head lowered as he charged for the man on the horse. The large stallion grunted as the momentum gathered from the gallop was transferred to the man as he rammed the human. Trying to avoid hitting the saddled mare he backed up, wincing and looking toward his flank in a moment of pain from his colic. Inferno nipped at it a few times and moved towards Iris. Sniffing her to ensure the humans here did not try anything with their horses or hurt her, he nickered to her in reassurance. He would not leave here alive without her. Standing in front of her with a merciless and grim gaze, Every breath brought back the dull soreness of his body but he tried to focus on this.
