Smoke | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Thessadowes | Location: Camp
"Got up not long ago. Was kinda hoping one of the senior Warriors would call for some sort of patrol, but so far nothing's happened. I may have to take that initiative myself." For all her playful, childlike attitude, Smoke wasn’t COMPLETELY useless. Shadow had trained her herself, she may as well put what she had been taught and trusted with to good use. Unlike some did, she noted to herself, gaze sliding briefly towards Fish, standing not too far away.
"Yeah, sure! Sounds like a plan. You got any big plans for the day? I know a few of the Hunters were chattering about going out. Is there plans for some big hunting party?" She asked. Smoke hadn’t seen a big hunting party go out for a while. Sometimes they did in order to catch a lot of small game, but mostly it was for when the herds had returned to the forest and game such as elk and deer could be brought down.
Fish | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: River | Location: Camp
Fish blinked, unsure for the first time in a while of how to respond to the commentary. She would say it was impossible, but then, she sat in rivers for fun and slept in a tree. Of her own choice. She claimed it was to help build up muscles, climbing, although most wolves didn’t have the required muscle structure for it, and it was more flopping over the branches and heaving herself up than anything. It took a lot of time.
"Uhhh…you can hunt?" Fish blanked out. Was that something Warriors were supposed to be able to do? Never once in her life had she seen a Warrior hunt. That was only for the All-Arounds and Hunters. If she remembered right, she had seen the Alpha STOP Warriors from going out hunting due to lack of knowledge and capability. A Warrior CERTAINLY wasn’t trained in hunting tactics by any means. Sure, Fish herself sometimes fished out trout from the lake once in a blue moon, but nobody wanted to eat trout. Did that REALLY count? "You mean Shadow hasn’t managed to catch you yet?"
Fish had to admit that had been the most astonishing part, what with Shadow having a close watch on every wolf in the Pack, it seemed. At the very least, she had more than once shown up almost immediately to haul Fish out of the river or stop Smoke from quite literally sticking her nose where it didn’t belong. "This probably comes as no surprise to anyone, but aquatic things! Trout! And frogs! Sometimes, anyway. Land food though…squirrels? I’ll eat anything."
Toby | Hunter | L-Pack | Tagging: Roque | Location: Camp
"I’m always good to go." That was the sad truth. Toby very rarely needed what one would consider required down-time. If he was called on for a job, he was there in a heartbeat, ready to work. Or in this case, teach to the best of his abilities. It would get easier overtime, he had told himself. He refused to let Roque down when her training had been entrusted to him, and clearly she placed her training in him personally as well. So he rose to his paws and shook out his thick fur, straightening it and freeing it of the moss scraps.
"Come on. Today we'll go through generic training, running the basics, and if we can find some open space, I’ll teach you some of the more advanced tactics. How does that sound?" He’d been nervous about the more advanced stuff, but ultimately, he knew he had to teach it eventually. One day, Roque was going to be a great Hunter, but only if he could teach her all he had come to know in his time before.
Blizzard | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Louve, Mick | Location: Camp
"It might be worth it to go check in with the Healers if you’re having trouble sleeping," Blizzard noted. His shoulders hunched with worry. For his usually effortless way of carrying himself, sometimes his worry still became visible when it weighed on his mind too heavily, and when it came to Louve, her worries were his as well. He had been both her brother and guardian after the passing of their parents, and all he wanted in the whole world was for her to live a happy life, to enjoy herself while she was young and full of that bright spirit a wolf had in their younger days.
Blizzard's gaze caught Mick from the corner of his eye, and he nodded towards the younger wolf. "Mick, friend of mine! Been a while since I’ve seen you lurking around instead of working. Staring at handsome wolves now, are we? Or attracted to my beautiful sister? Louve and I are headed for breakfast. You can come join us if you want, the more, the merrier, and company I think would wake all of us up a little more," he half joked.
Karter | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Aala, Axis | Location: Camp
"Then let’s go grab somethin' while there’s still food on the pile. Don’t think any of the Hunters or All-Arounds've gone out yet this mornin', it’s a bit early for that." Karter was about to say more when he heard the familiar voice of one of the few wolves he actually called a friend calling out to themfrom behind them. The Warrior Axis, a bit harder to get a read on than Karter himself, but in a way, Karter had always liked that. His tail wagged. "Awesome over here! Aala and I were gonna grab some breakfast, you?" He asked.
Arian | Lead Warrior | F-Pack | Tagging: Erle, Canary | Location: Camp
Arian dipped her head towards Canary in acknowledgement to the Warrior's words. "Thank you, Canary. It won’t be long now. Just waiting for everyone to finish eating and then I’ll set up a couple patrols. Would you lead one going by the north border, while my group takes the south?" She requested. Really, while she had been on neutral— sometimes tense— terms with Canary most of the time, she had enough trust to entrust the Warrior with a leadership role. Canary was certainly an outstanding Warrior, and not one of the newly graduated either. They had the experience that was needed to lead, and knew how to do it, what to keep an eye out for.
The wind carried a sweetly familiar scent towards Arian, and while she remained mostly expressionless on the surface, and didn’t move a muscle, there was a warm sparkle in her eye. She didn’t even need to turn to know who was there, despite the fact that the newcomer had situated himself well and directly behind her. She knew that scent better than anything. "Erle," she greeted her friend. "What’s the matter?" She asked, noting that as he had approached and spoken her name, it almost sounded like some kind of…question.
Catania | Hunter | F-Pack | Tagging: Apollo | Location: Camp
Catania giggled with a half suppressed laugh. "Silly. EVERYTHING tastes great when you’re hungry," she pointed out. Then she made a face. "Except frogs, I wouldn’t touch a frog if I was STARVING." Most wolves wouldn’t, really. Too slimy or scaly, everyone had their reasons. She knew of a grand total of ONE wolf who would eat them, and that was Móraín, who would eat whatever food was available in the harsh seasons. Birds were much better!
Móraín | Warrior | F-Pack | Tagging: Blitz | Location: Camp
"I have no idea, but I’m pretty sure it didn’t come from the direction of your nest, don’t worry." Móraín smirked with vague, yet for once genuine, amusement. "Well…" she hesitated. She was friends with Blitz, yes, but could she take his company for extended periods of time? Debatable. "Why don’t we grab some breakfast since we're both up? Put some food in our bellies before the Lead sets us to work?" She suggested.
Kassandra | Hunter | F-Pack | Tagging: Serafina | Location: Camp
"Sera, hon, I’m sure you can find better things to do with your time than bed changing, leave that to someone else. I’ve seen you hung before, you’re simply marvellous at it too, I must say." A small smile formed on the she-wolf's face, and she gently nudged her shoulder against the All-Around's. Mostly the Hunters stuck to a Hunter group and sent the All-Arounds on smaller or solo assignments, but Kass herself had no qualms in working alongside them. They were a Pack, one huge family, they had to learn to work together.
"It's perfect timing, really," the black wolf admitted. "I was actually just thinking about heading out once things have warmed up a bit. Possibly gathering a small group and trying to track down medium sized game." With spring coming in, if they were lucky, maybe the herds would be back. It was a longshot, but Kass dared to hope. "I’d be more than glad to have you along, if you’re looking to get out of here for a while."
