miska // lead dog //female // tags - the whole team // setting - in the race
the race had been long and treacherous. incomparable to anything miska had ever experienced, and it wasn't even over yet.
but she was proud of the team this far, they had pushed and pulled until they had finally made it through that last storm. the loud blaring of wind and the blinding of snow had concluded, at least for the moment, and miska could start to make out the yells of her sled mates. her pace didn't slow, even though a couple things concerned her; the lightness of the sled, the silence from her musher,
and the cries of the dogs behind her. in a situation like this, you don't think anything at all. miska hadn't put the pieces together until the sight of the empty sled behind her did it for her. ROME, EVERYONE, STOP! miska yelled as loudly as her lungs could manage. she slowed her steps giving the team time to slow as well before padding into a stop. this doesn't make any sense. she thought to herself. oh my god... she allowed herself a moment of panic before remembering her position. a scared leader doesn't do a pack any good. she wiped any signs of what panic and confusion out of her face and looked towards her lead, rome.
yukon // wheel dog // male // tags - the whole team // setting - in the race
the last storm had been the worst yukon had ever seen in his short life, let alone pulled through. he thanked the heavens for such a strong team. him and his clumsiness nearly stumbled right onto his muzzle multiple times but the husky managed to always catch his footing with only a mere sideways glance from lobo. but as soon as the storm had subsided, much bigger problems appeared. holy sh... he skidded to a stop after lobos first cry. he turned around only to confirm the yells of thirteen and laika. what where they going to do? how were they going to survive? sheer panic overthrew yukon as he glanced toward aisha, looking for some sort of comfort.
