City of Light

Brief
Fate. Whether you believe in it or not, it's still there. Some things just happen and there's not another explanation. For some, strange reason, everybody in this RP has ended up in Paris, whether they meant to or not, whether they are from abroad or grew up here. Now, Paris is known for being a romantic city; that may be the reason some travelled here. People that don't believe in love at first sight can still experience it, can't they? Can they? It's unclear whether these stories will have happy endings...You make that happen. Sure, fate lends a hand, but at the end of the day, it's an individual that decides their 'happily ever after'.

Rules
1 - All TESS’s Rules Apply, you know the drill
2 - posts should have a decent amount of writing, at least a few sentences if possible
3 - when you make a character, please assign a colour to your character that you'll use when they speak (e.g. "no way!" He cried.)
4 - If you have multiple characters, please try to avoid long spaces of dialogue between your characters so others can add.
5 - I understand there are some people that are naturally talented in many areas, but please give characters a few weaknesses!

Darcy has lived in Norway her whole life, and she never really got out much. She doesn't know a lot
about the world outside Elverum, the city she lived in for so long, so when she was offered a place
on the IFA Paris fashion school course, she jumped at the opportunity. It was hard to be away from
home at first but she's getting used to being in France. Darcy is a very promising designer at the
fashion school, and her textiles method is uncommon, yet beautiful. She is a romantic; she's
always hoping she'll run into prince charming. That's another reason she chose to go to Paris - all the
beautiful scenery, an amazing place to fall in love... she just has to find someone to fall in love with first.

Cedric was not planning on leaving Norway. Unlike his sisters, Darcy and Emilie, who both seemed to hate being trapped in one place, Cedric wanted to stay in Elverum for as long as he could, and it was only because of the great history of architecture there that he moved to France. In the unlikely turn of events that followed, he found himself living in the same city as Darcy, his younger sister. The two get along well, despite being different in pretty much every way; Cedric looks to the future, grateful for all that there is today and always thinking of ways to improve what is around him, while his sister's mind wanders into the past, old books and songs, even the way she speaks is that of older language, romanticising about love at first sight and slow dances at dusk... frankly, they are opposites. Still, Cedric meets with her regularly, in between his meetings at the architecture firm and his hours of sitting alone, never admitting to himself that he does not feel content in his situation.

After publishing their first book at the age of 20 - named Clash at Sunset, a spy novel - which gathered a decent audience and received a lot of praise from critics, Kendall started writing out a sequel. They were born and grew up in England, but has temporarily moved to Paris, to do some research for their new book, as it will be the main setting for it. They also look forward to finding some hidden gems in the city, and stray away from the tourist hotspots. They're also looking forward to meeting new people and hopefully other writers to eventually work with.

Merrick is a dancer, mostly of ballet, though he's also had plenty of classes in contemporary and tap. Though his parents never really approved of it, particularly after he came out as trans, they still supported and paid for all his classes anyway, but were concerned that he'd be teased or picked on. Not that Merrick particularly cared about this anyway, and he continued his classes, focusing on ballet - eventually en pointe as well - and becoming incredibly disciplined and skilled.
Eventually, he applied to a prestigious ballet school in Paris, which was very difficult to get into, but Merrick managed to make it in. He's attended it for a year so far, and has two more years to go. He often rehearses in his own time, though does occasionally take a break for his other interests or to explore the city.
