Matthew had surprisingly woken up early for the first day of school this morning. Though it probably would never happen again for the rest of the year. It was a surprise to himself even. Shaking his head, he walked through the front doors of his high school. Ah. The last year. And guess what? It would be absolutely interesting. Why? Oh...just 'cuz he got chosen to participate in a little TV show that would be recording he and four others the whole school year. It would be easy. Matthew Nicholas Jones didn't fall in love and that was exactly why he had agreed to take part of the game. 

As he walked down the hallway and he grew closer and closer towards his locker, he could hear the sounds of an argument. Undeniably, they were males. Once he was there, he had arrived at the time Lidia had commented on the two boys little fight and then witnessed another girl literally attacking Jace from outta no where. He couldn't help but laugh. A fight? On the first day of school? Wonderful! Perfect start to the school year. 

Now hearing what Nathan and Jace said to Lidia, his dearest childhood friend, Matthew scowled and moved forward, toward Essence's side. "Is that any way to speak to a lady?" he asked cooly, glaring at them briefly. "I think it would be best to take this fight after school. By then, everyone would've talked about it and nearly the whole school will know there's a fight after school as they'll all come to watch. Sound good? Now, if you don't mind, I would like to get to my locker," he said, tilting his head towards the direction they were standing. He's only just realized that they were standing in front of his locker. "Liddy, you need to keep your tongue in check. Though it is amusing to see you irritated." Matthew told the blonde girl, smiling down at her. Then, he looked towards Skye, "Nice job," he told her, before wincing when a blow to the back of his head was made. He looked away from Skye and to Lidia, who had been the source of the blow. "What the hell was that for?!" he exclaimed.

"Don't call me Liddy," she grumbled.  It was obvious that she hated the old childhood nickname. Well, when she was called it in public in front of the whole student body? Yea. She wanted to be known as just Essence or Lidia.

Rose watched with a bored expression, shoving the people behid her back with a glare. "Stop shoving," she snapped, giving them a glare enough to prove she meant it. "There's nothing to see here anyway, so shove off." She shook her head as the people slowly dispersed, realizing the fight was breaking up too. Of course, a few would probably wait out in the parking lot after school too, just waiting for a fight. She sighed, but then her eyes fell upon Mathew, and a faint smile crossed her lips. She folded her arms across her chest, waiting for him to be done. She smirked slightly when Liddia just smacked him across the head, and chuckled lightly.
She was dressed in quite short shorts, that looked faded and were tattered at the ends, stray ends hanging at her legs, signaling they were jeans that had been cut and never sewed at the bottom to prevent the strings. She had a Pink camisole on, that was tight and lacy at the tops and bottom, with a light gray sweatshirt over the top, that had the word PINK on the back in bead like things.
"Mathew!" she called as he turned to leave. She took a few quick steps to catch up with him, coming on on his right side to look up and over at him. He was taller, not hard to be than Rose. "Can I ask a favor?" she aske sweetly, her long dark lashes framing her bright green eyes in a perfect way. She brushed her hair back, not trying to charm her way into getting him to say yes or anything.
That was definitely not how she was.

It definitely took all of Jace's willpower to take a swing at the boy, the anger very clear in his eyes. Instead, he fixed him with a glare and turned on heel to stalk away, brushing last them all without uttering another word. His pride had just taken a big hit, and at this rate, he would have none left at l by the time today was over. He was not happy with Mathew for butting in either, but kelt the rest of his thoughts to himself. Hopefully, he would be calm enough by the end of the day so he wouldn't have to take a swing at someone... Maybe that wouldn't be the right impression... He pushed past people into the gym, finding a seat alone at the top of the bleachers.

Matthew Nicholas Jones

Matthew was just about to head to the gym for the official back to school speech when he heard his name being called. He stopped and turned around, seeing Rose. Flashing a smile to her, he nodded as she asked if she could ask him a favor. "Sure. What is it you would like me to do?" he asked her.

Lidia Essence Vanderbilt

Lidia jabbed Matthew in the side as she walked past him and Rose, "I'm going to the gym," she said over her shoulder. "See ya there...or later." With that, she left the two of them alone and headed towards the gym, not saying anything, acknowledging anybody. She wasn't much of a talker anyways. Liddy was known as some tough girl who probably didn't have a heart, though the fact that she held a friendship with Matthew, sort of proved that wrong. Rough. Yes. That was a good adjective to use to describe her. Essence here was definitely a bit rough if not at all. She had a sharp tongue and was quick to strike someone if it struck her fancy. 

Arriving in the gym, she took a set on the bleachers that was farthest from the floor and the other students that were already there, near the wall, where she set her bag next to her and leaned back against the wall, propping her feet up on the bleachers in front of her. Eh. She might save Matthew a seat. Sighing, she looked around her at everyone, seeing new faces and old ones. It would be an interesting school year.

Rose glanced over to Liddia when she breezed by, sparing her a nod. She looked back over to Mathew, hiking her bag higher on her shoulder. "Well, my mom is out of town fo the next three weeks, and she was wondering if you could come mow the lawn for us, like you were so nice to do a few summers ago... She will pay you," she said, looking over and biting her lip. It was the job she hated the worse, and the barn chores were all to herself while her mother was away, so she didn't really have time for it either. "You don't need to feel like you have to at all, but I have all the barn chores and I am holding a party this weekend so... It would be really nice if you could," she explained.

Matthew listened as Rose explained what she needed him to do for her. He nodded, remembering the time he had volunteered to mow her family's lawn, simply because he had nothing to do and he was just bored. That was back when he wasn't too lazy. He supposed he could do it for three weeks though. It wasn't too long anyways and it wouldn't hurt, right? Nodding at Rose, he smiled. "I remember. I'll help with that and anything else. Your mom doesn't have to pay me," he told her.
