Patric put his arm around Ella's shoulders almost unconsciously, for misery loves company and they were going to be in here for a while. Since he was a bit taller than the girl, he leaned his head to the side so it was resting comfortingly alongside Ella's.

Ella breathed deeply. She tried forgetting Milo to get out of her misery. But with nothing in here but a dresser, a bed, a fire, and Patric, this was hard. She smiled at Patric's warmth. The fire wasnt enough at the moment.

Patric figured she was thinking about Milo, but he hoped she would forget about him. Alexa wasn't about to let him come back, and, well... he liked Ella. A lot. Maybe she liked him, too.

Ella scooted closer to Patric. She nudged her head a little farther into his shoulder and kept her eyes closed. She brought her knees up for more warmth and wrapped her arms them.

Patric squeezed Ella reassuringly with his arm and closed his eyes, content. Even though he was locked in a cabin, at least he was locked in with the person he liked best. He wouldn't call it love, not yet, not while Milo was still so fresh on Ella's mind. But maybe someday, maybe someday soon.

"I'm sorry I got you stuck in this." Ella said. She leaned farther into him. He was nice and he cared. Maybe she could care for him too.

"It's not your fault," murmured Patric, keeping his eyes closed. "In fact, if this is anyone's fault, it's mine. Still, I couldn't have just let you be all alone in here." He took one of her hands in his large ones and realized that it was scratched and bloody from pounding on the doors. "Ella," he gasped, "Why didn't you say something?" He got up and rummaged around in the room, coming across a clean drying cloth that he had been carrying when Alexa threw him in here. "Hold still," he said to Ella, ripping it into long shreds and tying them around her hands.

"I didnt notice." Ella mumbled. "It's not your fault. How could it possibly be yours?" She asked. She opened her eyes and smiled. "I'm glad I have someone." She said. She kept her knees up, she wasnt as warm. Patric had left her side, getting rid of the extra heat.

"Yeah, me too," said Patric with a slight grin. He sat back down next to Ella and put his arms around her shoulders again, saying with a chuckle, "When we get out of here, I say we have a bit of a mutiny."

[Also, how is Ingo going to get back on the ship? Should Alexa dock somewhere and get her back? That would give Milo time to get to Tortuga. Also, I have a bit of a twist to their romance. It doesn't change the story that we planned, really, but it adds a bit of complications.]

"I agree." Ella said. She leaned her head on his shoulder again. She grabbed one of the hands that were dangling over her shoulder. She held onto it.
