Colton had been up all night watching Misty move around in her cage, tending to the small lives that moved around in a box at the back. The small silver rabbit ha given birth to three little rabbits almost two weeks ago as the curly haired brunette had been waiting patiently for the day he could finally hold them. He could have probably handled them that day, but he didn't want to risk the possibility of Misty flying off the handle once she got her offspring back. Instead, he decided to wait a handful of days past the two week mark so he was absolutely certain there was no chance of the chinchilla fur killing one or all of the tiny creatures. That would be a terrible experience that would drive him wild with the knowledge that he caused it. The boy would go mad with guilty and would probably never touch a baby rabbit again in fear of repeating history. That was simply how he worked. He would make a mistake and to ensure it wouldn't happen again, he wouldn't repeat the action. He would loose all confidence and would throw his hands up in surrender. A shame really, since he had so much potential that went unused due to his fears and insecurities.
At about 6:00, Colton's alarm went off. It wasn't to wake him up, since the sleeping ship had sailed long ago for the nineteen year old. That alarm was for Titan, so the brunette knew when to walk him. Six always seemed to be the perfect time. No one was out to bother him, his parents wouldn't have any chore for him to do since they were never awake, and his brother wouldn't invite himself along. It meant peace and quite for Colton, which after a Lon night in a loud house, was exactly what he needed. The honey-like boy quietly opened his door and snuck downstairs to where the large German Shepherd slept. He took the green leash off the hook and opened the crate door, hooking the lead to an eager dog's collar. In mere minutes after his alarm went off, Colton was out of the house and heading to the walk up window of the near by Dutch Bro's. He ordered an ice coffee and received it a short couple of minutes after paying for it.
Colton's walk from the small coffee shack to the park was a short one. Around 6:25, he had Titan off leash and chasing sticks in the open field of green grass. The shepherd was absolutely giddy with the freedom he was receiving, happy to be out of the house. The absence of a retrained didn't seem to register, since he didn't run. Maybe that was because the dog's sole focus was on the stick that flew through the air and the boy who threw it. At least, that was the case, until a young blonde gal sat on a bench not far off. At the sight of her, the dainty canine was trotting towards her with as much confidence as a dog could contain within its body. The dog's main goal? To receive attention by charming the girl with charismatic brown eyes and to keep the stick away from Colton. Every canine's favorite thing.
