Ella stood and went to go find Milo. She had to talk to him.

Milo stepped out of his cabin and closed the door behind him, watching Alexa leave the ship. He had to explain everything to Ella- he hoped she wasn't angry with him.

Ingo heard someone moving around in the cabins and went to talk to them, once she saw it was Milo she retreated to her cabin. She didn't want to distract from his task, he looked quite serious and caring at that moment.

((I think the way Milo and Ella's relationship is going is so cute, they are even sneaking to talk to each other... how sweet! Lol))

Ella found Milo. "Milo. Could I talk to you?" She asked, walking up to him. "Now?" she said urgently.

Milo looked over his shoulder at the port to make sure that Alexa was still in town, then took Ella's hand and pulled her into a small recess behind the galley. He took her other hand and looked into her eyes, then down at his bare feet. "Ella," he began sadly, "Alexa... she says we can't be together. I'm sorry." He pulled Ella into a hug.

"What?" Ella said shocked. She hadn't expected this answer. "Why?" she asked. She didn't know why Alexa would do this. She had always seemed so nice. She felt a few tears stream down her cheek.

Milo let go of Ella and clenched his fists, saying angrily, "I don't know." He took a step away from her and turned, saying quietly, "I just don't want you to get hurt. So... goodbye." He walked out from behind the galley, over into his cabin. He emerged a few seconds later with his dagger belt, a bandanna, and a rucksack. He tied the bandanna over his head, put on his belt, and removed his hoop earring from his left ear. He jammed it into his pocket and left the ship, not once looking back at Ella. A few tears ran down his cheeks, but Alexa was right. Ella would get hurt, maybe even die. He couldn't let that happen.

Ella let a few more tears slip from her eyes. She saw him walking away with the rucksack. She ran up to him. She pulled him around and kissed him. She wouldn't let him leave without a proper good-bye.

Milo put his arms around Ella's neck and kissed her back, but after a few moments let go and pulled away. His green eyes were wavering behind held-back tears, and he said, "I love you, Ella. This is for you- remember that." He stepped away from her and onto the docks, calling, "Goodbye," before walking down the cobbled street and turning right, out of view of the harbor.

Ella sank to the deck and let the tears fall down her cheeks. She couldn't stand losing Milo. She sat there for almost an hour. Then it started raining. She didn't care though. The rain could cut at her, stinging her neck and back, but it could never compete with the pain she felt in her heart. Her eyes had run dry by now, but that didn't stop the choked noises she was making.
