"Gah." Spencer complained. "It's chilly out." He said to himself. He pulled his jacket around his body. Tying it in a knot. He looked over to his side to find a small coffee shop. "Mmm coffee." He didn't lick his lips, knowing they would only get chapped. He walked into the cafe. It was warm, & smelt like fresh bakery goods. He walked up to the counter. "I'll have a coffee, & a crescent sounds good." He smiled at the lady. She looked tired. He can't blame her. This place looks pretty popular. She must've been working all day..

"Oh gosh." Mariah said to herself. She was already starting to get sick. "Achooo!" She sneezed in her arm. She didn't care right now, but she would later.. She was coming down with a cold, & exploring the town of Smurfville. She kept her hands in the pockets of her jacket. She had a yellow scarf on. Mariah was always like that.. Bright colors were her thing. The scarf was covering almost all of her face. She never liked the look of it going up to a person's eyes. It made them look like a creeper.. She kept it up to her chin. She tried to stay as friendly-looking as possible. Hoping someone would come up to meet her..

Chris stood on the steps of his beat up apartment, where screaming and arguing hummed in the trash-littered streets. He took a deep breath, absorbing his everyday surroundings. Stray mutts barked madly at eachother across the street, bums sat at every corner. This was home. Chris threw a grey and black scarf around his shoulders, a beanine tightly secured to his creamy hair. He started down the stairs and sauntered down the sidewalk, his eyes taking everything in.

Anna downed another shot, her eyes roaming the empty bar. Sunlight streaked through the filthy windows while the bartender whistled a jazzy tune as he wiped the counters lazily. Life had been so meaningless, everything slipping through Anna's gloved fingers. She was still a bit hung over from last night's party down the block.

Mariah looked around. She had been walking for about 10 minutes. Of course, she was a little scared.. You always hear a mix of good & bad things in New York. She had 911 on speed dial; just in case. She kept her eyes to herself. And whenever someone stared at her, she looked away. A few guys yelled at her "Hey sexy!" She ignored it, & kept walking. But they kept running their mouth. Anger started to build up.. When Mariah was upset, she got really upset.. No one liked that side of her.

Spencer took his coffee & crescent. After paying the woman, & tipping her, he said thank you. He walked over to a seat by the window. He sipped his coffee. It burnt his lip. But in a way, it kinda felt good. He was frozen.. It warmed up his body like hot choclate would with a little kid. He bit into his crescent. He could tell they were home made. His mother used to make them for him when he was a kid. It tasted almost just like it. He looked outside the window, watching everyone.

Anna sighed and slipped from the dead bar. She looked considerably decent considering how drunk she had been last night. Her milky skin glowed lightly as the sunlight hit it. She covered and eyes and staggered into the shadows. She couldn't do it anymore, drinking all night and trying to erase the pain her 'true love' had caused her. Anna spotted a near by coffe shop. It looked so warm and comforting. She enetered and paced up to the counter. "I'll have some hot chocolate and a dounut,"She said politely, placing the money on the counter. The woman smiled and nodded. Anna sighed quietly and gazed around the shop. Her pale eyes glazed over a guy sitting alone near the window...

Spencer saw a girl walk in. He studied her. She had a deep redish hair.. It was basically all he could see, sense she was turned to the coffee counter. He sipped his coffee again; & bit into his crescent. He got up & walked over to the counter. He pulled out his wallet, & handed the girl a 20$ bill. "I'll pay for her." He grinned.

The guys had finally shut up. Gosh, Mariah thought to herself. She decided to walk back to her apartment. She turned around. There were people sitting on their steps.. She didn't bother to say hello. Not wanting to get herself into any trouble, she kept her eyes to herself. Her phone was vibrating in her pocket. She ignored it, walking home as fast as she could. She could never text & walk at the same time. It confused her too much. Especially when there was so much going on around her.

Anna, shocked, smirked and cocked her head. She had to admit, that was a pretty good move."Thanks."She brushed a tuft crismon hair from her eyes and reached out for her hot chocolate. She retrieved the change, a few dollars, and shoved a dollar bill into the tip jar. She held out the rest for him to take back. Anna hated being super nice to strangers. it wasn't her thing. For all she knew, this guy could be a serial killer."I really apprecitate it."Her cheeks were painted a pale pink before she knew it. He was pretty cute...'No,' She mentally chastised herself. 'Not this again!

There was a guy sitting on his step.. He waved... Mariah didn't know who he waved to, so she kept walking. She kept her head down, trying to keep the cold out of her face. Every once in a while, she'd look up to see where she was going.
Spencer took the money back. "No problem." He paused as he put the money back in his wallet. "I'm Spencer." He held out his hand for her to shake. He could now see her face. She was beautiful. He felt like her eyes went right through him..
