Outlawed (Version 3)

Emerald giggled at Frank's reaction and patted him on the head as she walked past. "I was just kidding." she said, smirking. "And it better not be you." she teased again, poking him lightly in his stomach. "I know with who. That mysterious Huntsman of hers." She glanced at Arrowin, a teasing gleam in her eye. She turned back around and set the bundle on the table to put the new food and blankets with the rest of their reserves. She tied up the bag and then sat down next to Frank, yawning and leaning her head on his shoulder. "Ok, but if he's tired he should come back inside and rest. We're going to be here for at least another day."

Jack chuckled as he overheard Emerald's comment, though he wouldn't have been surprised if that strange huntsman had fallen in love with Arrowin. Yawning, he began to fiddle with a fallen branch, trying not to fall asleep. He had a strange feeling, as if something was going to attack them. Well, the king had sent soldiers after them, but after all, they were well hidden. Shivering, he covered himself more with his old cloak, hoping they wouldn't get caught.

Arowin froze when they mentioned pregnancy. She didn't even hear any of their comments after that. It was easily possible and a lot of the signs where there, she was always sick in the mornings and dead tired and pale. She sat down on a chair thinking hard over everything. It wouldn't be good if she was expecting, that meant no heavy riding, who then would keep away the hunting party from the others and how on earth was she meant to ride everyday if she kept getting bigger with each passing day. She could visit a doctor in the nearest village, she had to know for sure. "I'm going out Em." she said pulling on her cloak and tightening it at her neck with her eyes a little wide. She grabbed her bridle and saddle and went outside to go catch her horse half hopping that Emerald would come with. She didn't want to find out on her own.

Frank watched as Arowin quickly walked outside and frowned lightly, but did not question her answers, instead he out Diads bridle back together and rested it over the stallions heavy saddle, looking down at Emeald "Does she seem a little off to you?" he questioned with confusion, yawning loudly afterwards, he was still tired from the ride to wherever they were.

Emerald saw the look in Arrowin's eyes and suddenly realized that maybe this was possible. Maybe she was pregnant. When she said she was going out she knew immediately where to. "I'm going to go with her, Frank. Just in case...just in case. You should get some rest, you seem tired." she said, kissing him on the cheek before she jumped up and followed her outside. "I'll come too." she said, wanting to support Arrowin. And what if she was expecting? They would need to start moving faster before she got too far along. And she couldn't be doing any of the wild goose chases anymore. Emerald decided that even if Arrowin wasn't expecting, she would take over the goose chases from now on. Arrowin needed to rest.

Arowin heard footsteps coming up behind her and gave Emerald a small smile while she finished tacking up Ace and climbed up on his back. "Thanks Emerald." she said and started riding out towards the village slowly with her thought engulfing her. It wasn't that she wouldn't be really happy if she was expecting, she would be over the moon but they really couldn't have picked a worse time. Not while riding hard day in and day out. What if she felt or got caught? That would mean a very good chance of loosing the baby... Arowin shook her head hard, she didn't even know if she really was pregnant yet, best to not stress about it, she might even not be. Maybe it was just the fabric. As they reached the village Arowin asked a women where the doctor's house was and started down the path dismounting just before the door. She turned to Emerald and gave her the reins. "Could you wait outside with the horses Em, we don't need them getting stolen." she explained and went in on her own.

Emerald smiled back at Arrowin and rode along with her, keeping silent with her own thoughts. She knew Arrowin might be a little shocked right now and might not be very chatty. She slowed Envy when they were at the village and dismounted as well in front of the doctor's house. She took Ace's reins and smiled. "Good luck." she said to Arrowin as she walked inside. She knew Arrowin wanted to go in alone, and Emerald understood. She was perfectly fine waiting with the horses. She stood there, talking to them as if they understood everything. Some of the villagers gave her strange looks as they saw her talking to the horses.

Frank watched Emerald leaved and smiled nervously, he had no idea what was going on but it worried him, he decided to dwell on it later and leant back on the saddle behind him, drifting off to sleep and beginng to snore quite loudly, limbs out at all angles and his breath raspy and uneven.
Meanwhile Diad stood quietly as the other two horses were ridden away, he grew slightly more wary as he lowered his head to graze and walked closer to the barn where Frank was, he didn't like being on his own and his old wounds had stiffened his front legs again, two large, white, horizontal lines ran across the top of his knees where years back he had been cut down from underneath Frank by an old hood member.

Jack turned around as he saw Arrowin and Emerald coming out of the farmhouse. He was about to ask them where they were going, but they were already making their way towards the village on their horses, and he hoped they would be alright. Arrowin looked ill, and he couldn't help thinking something was terribly wrong with her. He then turned to Frank.
"Where are they going?" he asked with a frown, only to realize that the man was completely asleep. He chuckled and patted Diad "I guess I'm on my own now" he said to himself softly.

Arowin walked out the house and took her reins back getting into the saddle a lot slower than she usually did. She then finally looked at Emerald and nodded her head before turning Ace around back down the path. The villagers parted way before them and their horses but Arowin hardly noticed. "I need to go see him now Em." she said looking at Emerald. "I have to tell him but I can't go alone." she said. She didn't want anyone else there when she hid tell The Huntsman but she couldn't risk going alone anymore, there was more at stake now that just a few hours spent ditching the hunting party. The village disappeared behind them and opened into plain lands. Arowin wasn't sure how she would be able to reach the Huntsman without being seen by the others but on the way she finally came up with a plan to turn Ace loose and send him towards the camp. That would let him know she was near and hopefully he would be allowed to go try catch Ace on his own.
