The shrill pitch of Ace's distressed neigh snapped her from her thoughts. "You hear that?" she questioned. "That's Ace! Come on we can't be too far." she said eagerly. She kicked Envy ahead of the other's, eager to find Arrowin. But if Ace was crying out like he was hurt, what had happened to Arrowin?

Frank rolled his eyes and spurred Diad forward after Emerald, the horses shrill scream from up ahead sent a shiver down his spine "don't get too far ahead!!!" he called after her, not wanting to know what lay up ahead.

For a moment, Emerald was slightly irritated that Frank told her to hang back. Her family and trusty gang was in danger and he wanted her to slow down!? After the initial moment of annoyance she realized he only wanted her to be safe, but still. She needed to get up there. "Keep up, Frank!" was all she replied. She kicked Envy a little faster but the stallion refused. He was tiring out, his mouth open and foaming even though it held no bit. His shoulders were foamy with sweat, even in the cool weather. Emerald's baby wasn't what he used to be.

Frank frowned as Emerald shouted back but tried his hardest to ride faster,but his and Diads stamina was draining slowly and so seemed that envys was too. Finally Diads age got the better of him and the stallion stopped, tripping forward slightly and panting heavily, sweat foamed on his flanks and the white of his eyes showed.

Arowin could hear Emerald and Frank just a few meters away but she didn't care. Still Ace screamed on and she longed to turn to him and help him but first she would murder the scum in front of her.

Within a matter of minutes Emerald came upon the scene. Her eyes first swept upon Ace; shock, confusion, and worry washing over her. She then saw Arrowin and she felt relieved. Arrowin looked unhurt. With wide eyes and pounding heart she dismounted Envy even though he hadn't yet fully stopped. She quickly ran over to Arrowin, dagger in hand. "What happened?" she questioned, panting slightly. She looked around, trying to see if there were any enemies around.

It took Frank an extra minute or two to arrive but when he did he suffered confuse net and shock. He proceeded to dismount Diad and landed heavily on the floor,grabbing his weapon and walking to the pair without a word.

"Look after Ace!" Arowin shouted not taking her eyes off of Sam who lay before her with the arrows in the back of his legs. She raised her hand ready to bring the dagger plunging down into his heart.

Emerald finally caught sight of Sam and she growled. She nodded and walked towards Ace, backwards though in case she needed to help Arrowin, though she doubt she would need the help. She made it Ace finally and worked to calm the frightened stallion. She took hold of his bridle to keep his head as still as possible. She relaxed a little and spoke soothingly to the horse as she stroked his neck. Once he was calm enough she went over to his shoulder and looked at the wound. The blade was sunk in pretty deep. With a frown Emerald picked up a bit of moss hanging from a nearby tree. She cleaned up the blood around the wound but did not remove the dagger. They needed to get back to the hideout before anything could be done safely.

Brander reached out to Emerald and his his big head in her arms. He was confused and hurt. He squealed in pain and closed his eyes.

Arowin made the mistake of looking back at Ace when he squealed, leaving her back exposed. It ripped her apart inside he hear his pain. He was her most prized treasure and she loved that horse wih all her heart, maybe even a little more than she did Chris.
