He checked his phone again and sent her a text. [Aww, Im honored to take.you to your first dance. I promise I wont laugh. Also, Im headed to the mall as well. My sister and I have to get clothes, so meet you at Macy's in a half hour?]
He sent the text and hopped into the red sedan and drove to the mall, Jessica in the passenger seat.

"Now I know you could dobetter then that." Effie said behind Daniel

Mavis hummed to the music the played on the radio. When her phone went off she waited till she hit a stop light to read it. 'thank you and sounds good to me! Meet you there!' she sent and then drove with the light turned green. Once she got to the mall she had spare time so she went to a few other stores and then went to Macy's. When she got there she looked at the pretty dresses with a smile on her face.

He pulled up to the mall and hopped out of the car. He turned to Jess and said, "Dont forget to meet me back here in a couple of hour unless I text you, got it?" When she nodded, henturned and headed to Macy's, looking for Mavis.

Daniel.
He jumped when he heard his step mothers voice. "Wh-what are you doing here??" He stammered, backing away from her.

"I came from Capitol to see you and possibly chaperone" she said smiling then hugging him

Mavis hummed softly as she turned a corner. Without seeing him she bumped into David "oh I'm sorry sir!" She said quickly and then saw it was David. Her face turn a Scarlett red and she looked down "oh s-sorry David." She said and then bit her lip nervously.

He blushed and said, "Dont worry, Im all right." He looked around. "Did you find anything you like?" He asked nervously.

Daniel.
He stepped back in surprise. "You didnt have to do that, Effie," he said and looked at her, puzzled. "Youre going to be a chaperone tonight?"

"Yes apperantly the Capitol appointed me to reap for the games here...hopefuly your name is not picked" She said happily

Mavis blinked and then frowned. "No...I'm not very good at picking dresses...their not my thing so I don't wear them." She said and rubbed the back of her neck "stupid right? A girl who doesn't wear dresses...haha" she was nervous and didn't know what to do.

He put a hand on her shoulder. "No worries. We can find something youll like. What do you feel the most comfortable in?" He smiled warmly at her, wanting to help her feel comfortable.

Daniel.
"Okay then." He looked at Shezza who had a confused look on her face. "Effie, this is my date, Shezza. Shezza, this is my step mother, Effie." He introduced them briefly.
