Jane spotted the Captain, Indigo, and Jack going towards the farm not far ahead of her. She decided to go join them and quickly started to walk, catching up to them easily. "I can't believe that Sonja has died, she murmured, matching their pace as they headed up to where the funeral was going to take place. She glanced around their surroundings as a little wind began to pick up, looking for any of the other crewmen to see if they were there already.
Soooo darn cute!

((No ideas for my other characters at the moment, my mind is completely blank, making a new dude, hopefully that'll get me back into the swing of things))

.:Form:.
Username: Magique
Character Name: Terence D Hemingway (Go's by Rennie)
Gender: Male
Age: 30
Rank on The Maiden: Rigger
Personality:Rennie's just your average rigger, he blends in to ship life, gets on with his job and shouts obscenities from the top of the rigging simply because he can. He enjoys showing off, liking the danger of his position on board the ship, often dangling from the rigging one handed, or occasionally upside down, despite this and his awful flirting he is actually a decent bloke, slightly rude and often treading on arrogant territory, he still manages to be polite when required, be brave when needed and just generally be alright to be around.
Description [detailed] or picture: Rennie's got ash black black the flops down over his right eye only to flick up again and enable him vision. He would usually wear some kind of beanie hat, only his flick of ash black hair jutting round the edge. His eyes are a smoky grey, a dark grey rim getting lighter as it gets closer to the middle. His face, like the rest of him, is slim and angular, but not unpleasant to look at. He just has the agile, edgy frame that makes him perfect for climbing, Rodney, on occasion, has been known to call him 'the ash monkey', referring not only to his position as rigger but his hair, eyes and general grey scale clothing style.
History: Rennie's not got much to tell, he hasn't got a sop story to pull at the heart strings, nor was he brought up well. His mother left him with his father at birth, and so he grew up learning how to do things 'the man's way', he grew sick of his father constantly telling him right and wrong and frequently climbed higher and higher trees to get away. His father tried to recruit him into the navy, like his own profession, but he was too reckless. Whilst his father was away on Naval Duty, Rennie joined the pirates, they haven't seen each other since and Rennie has no desire to re-acquaint himself with his father.
Family: Father - Peter
Crush: None
Strengths: Climbing for starters, Sword Combat and being a prize dolt. Well, the last one probably doesn't count, but he's good at being heard, his voice carries well through the ship and he's good at communicating, his eyesight's very good too.
Weaknesses: Gunfire, he's awful, Hand to hand combat, he's also awful and cooking. he'll cook if you want him to, but hey, why would you want him to?
Likes and dislikes: Rennie likes to flirt, he's awful at it, but that doesn't stop him doing it. He also likes life on board the ship and climbing, so being a rigger combines two of his favourite things. He dislikes disrespect, he may be a dirty rude pirate at times, but that doesn't mean you should show him, or anyone else for that matter, no respect. He also dislikes extremely posh people, and he doesn't like the cold much either, he'd prefer to be wandering in a shirt or no shirt rather than layering it up with coats and jumpers.

Rodney still did not look pleased, he decided that, until he got a straight answer, he would not speak, he would not utter another word at all. He looked defiant yet led the way, he hoped Indigo was still in the ifirmary or else he'd have no idea where she was...

Betty trailed behind Indigo and jack, she still felt that she could not join their conversation, or any conversation of the crew for that matter. She had not been in position long enough, she's barely been on board for five minutes and she was already forgetting people's names. She felt surplus, unneeded, but at least she had something to do nowadays.

Coming up on the farm, Indigo spotted Rodney standing outside the farmhouse, staring forlornly at the closed door. For a moment she reflected on how he was similar to a lost puppy, or, better yet, a duckling that has for some odd reason imprinted on a flock of crows. A murder of crows, wasn't that the word for it? Perfect. Coming up on the boy she placed her remaining hand on his shoulder and said softly, "Sonja's dead, lad. We're cleaning' her up, but there's naught else to say. Stand aside if ye would- Jack? Come inside with me. Betty, please stay out here wi' the boy. I need to have a... word... with th' crew."

Jack nodded and took the lead into the little house, stepping through the threshold. His breath caught in his throat at the sight of Sonja's body cleaned up but still donning the filthy clothes she had died in. Chewing on his lip, he placed the heavy bag on the table beside her and looked behind him for Indigo - she would want to speak first.

Rodney's mouth made a shape that, in other cirumstances, would have been a comical O, but now just seemed distraught. He swallowed his fear, "Will - Will I be able to see her? Later, I mean," he asked. For all his helplessness and often stupidity, he could still feel attachment, and despite his immatuity about many things, death was not one.

Betty nodded and placed a hand on Rodney's shoulder, he curled into her an she supsected that he was going to cry. She decided she'd leave him to it, and put her arms round him in a gentle hug.

Rennie had been sat on one of the old wicker chairs in the house, he did not feel as great an attachment to Sonja as many of the other crew mebers, but he still cared for her, as any man cares for a crewmate. He was not crying, nor wringing his hands, merely thinking. A strong, confidnet, capable woman murdered? It didn't seem to add up in his mind.

Ryder glanced down at Rodney, then nodded to the captain. She was looking better. Well, better than the last time he saw her, that is. He grimaced slightly as she talked about "talking" to them, though. The man turned to Jack and cocked his head slightly, hoping it wasn't anything about Sonja... But that was a stupid thought. Of course it would have something to do with Sonja, wasn't that why Indigo had come?

Propping her right fist on her hip, Indigo glared at her crew with anger in her fiery eyes. "First off," she said, voice sharp, "I am disappointed in every one of you. I had thought that my crew would be able to handle themselves in an emergency, but obviously this was not the case. One little thing knocks me down, and you turn into a load of blubbering buffoons! Emerald-" she turned to the woman. "Riding a horse? I'm surprised you can even walk! Master that before making a fool of yourself and cracking your head. And the rest of you!" Now she was glaring at the crew as a whole. "How can you be so stupid? The ship runs aground in a strange place, and you let one of our most important members go wandering around where who the hell knows could be hiding? I know that the townspeople here despise pirates, I saw them glaring. Tessa-Rose is slashed up and Sonja is dead. Our navigator. Is dead." She shook her head sadly and walked over to where the woman was laid out. "Jack," she said, "Leave her clothing with me, please. Then leave. All of you. I think-" She looked up as a door opened, and her mouth fell open in horror. "You!" she choked, pointing at the man who had just entered the room. "What are you-" She froze, fumbling for the cross that hung around her neck. Then, after a few long moments in which the Irishman stared at her and she stared back, Indigo screeched "Damn you! This is your doing, isn't it, you bastard?" The man stumbled backwards as she launched herself at him, grabbing the front of his shirt and slamming him against the wall with her shoulder. She would have whaled on him, then, but she didn't have a left arm. He grabbed her shoulders and held her back, but she did manage to land a stinging punch on his left eye. "What the hell?!" he shouted, recoiling. "Why can't you just stay dead?!" Indigo shrieked, trying to punch him again. "You were shot, damn you. Stop haunting me! It wasn't my fault!"

[I've been waiting SO LONG to reveal this surprise! Months and months!]

Jack was about to move away from his captain, leave her to change the body of Sonja, when she became enraged and leapt at the man. The cook's eyes widened and, if he had had something in his hands, he would have dropped it. Luckily, the bag with Sonja's clothes and possessions was sitting next to the dead body of the navigator, so Jack ended up staring for a few moments.
That was, before he came to his senses and rushed towards Indigo. Going around the table would take too long - he used one of the wooden chair to get up on the table then jumped down, not pausing in his run. He just continued on until he wrapped his arms around Indigo's waist.

"dammit, Jack, let me go!" cursed Indigo, thrashing against his grip. The Irishman was still pressed up against the wall, looking terrified. "Captain," said Melody, meekly. "Captain, this is Gannet. He's letting us stay in his house." Indigo whipped her head around to glare at the quartermaster, who shrank away. This was saying something; Melody was no coward. When faced with the captain's wrath, though, she'd rather be meek than dead or worse. Breathing hard, Indigo wrenched herself free of Jack and pulled herself up to her full height, not quite able to meet the Irishman's eyes. She didn't apologize; in fact, the only thing she said to him was "Take off your shirt." "What?" the man replied, obviously confused. "Just do it!" snapped Indigo, clenching her fists. "Alright!" he snapped back, undoing the buttons and pulling it over his head. He twisted it between his big hands, and Indigo took a step back. "It is you," she breathed, laying eyes on the scars that ran from his left shoulder to just over his heart. They were flaring and dark, like old bullet wounds. But nobody survived something like that. "We pulled you out of the water," Indigo blubbered helplessly. "You died. We wrapped you up in sailcloth and tossed you back into the ocean with a chain... how can you still be alive?" Now the man's mouth fell open and he gasped, "You know me! Please, I beg of you, tell me who I was. I washed up on the beach here a year and a half back, memory completely gone. I named myself after the birds, but apart from a few nightmares, I couldn't..." He trailed off, pulling his shirt back over his head and not continuing from where he had stopped. Stepping forwards carefully, Indigo murmured, "Patrick O'Hara, quartermaster and cook on the Maiden. You're a pirate, boy. You're one of us. And you're dead."

Jack let her go, but stayed behind her, his face one of puzzlement when she told Gannet to take off his shirt. At the sight of the old wound, Jack felt a little sick. Again. No one should survive something like that. No one.
Breaking his thoughts, he focused on Indigo's words. At the sound of Gannet's real name, his eyes grew all the wider; he had heard stories about him from other crewmates, and knew he was the former cook. If Patrick, or Gannet, returned to the ship, what would happen to him?
