Emerald shrugged it off, waving one hand in dismissal before returning it to her hair to finish braiding. "Eh it's alright. You'll learn again. Once you learn how to master the sword it's something you can't forget. It's like riding a horse. I haven't ridden in almost a year but if I could find one right now I bet I could ride it all over without fallin off."

Jack lowered his eyebrows over his eyes, which were narrowing. Not in anger, but in playfullness. He stood tall, so he was towering over her, and smirked widely, pointing his finger at her.
"Go on then. I dare ye ta find a 'orse an' ride it." He told her, winking.

Emerald giggled and looked up at him. "Dare accepted." she replied with a smirk. As they walked through the village she kept her eyes open for a horse. She frowned. Did nobody in this tiny village own a horse? She was just about to give up when she spotted one. She grinned. "That one!" she said, pointing to it. It was a large bay horse that was pulling a cart. The owner was busy buying something from a nearby market stall. "Help me unhitch it."

Jack clenched his jaw. "I think it would be better ta ask, don't ye? After all, they are 'elpin' our cap'n. Wouldn't be fair ta jus' steal it, would it?" he questioned, inclining his head forwards. It was a wonderful specimen for a horse, but it wasn't like they could have one on The Maiden. He'd only seen horses a few times, when they made port.

Emerald laughed, as if his idea of asking was the funniest thing ever. "Jack it's not like we're going to take it aboard with us! We're just borrowing it for a lil' bit and then returning it." she said, still trying to catch her breath. She sighed as he still didn't agree. "If you must ask, go ahead." she grumbled. "But make it quick." she said, rocking back and forth on her feet. Heel to toe, then back. She was itching to ride a horse again. She could just feel the wind blowing in her face, the horse moving gracefully underneath her.

Jack sighed and walked forwards, tapping the man on the shoulder lightly. He the proceeded to explain who he was and if he could borrow the horse for a friend, for only a few minutes. The man agreed, and the cook made his way over to the carriage, starting to unhitch it.
"Come on Emerald! Get 'ere!" He called, jerking his head.

Emerald grinned and ran over. "Thanks Jack." she said, unhooking the cart from the horse and then starting to undo the buckles and straps. Once it was all off, all that was left was the horse's bridle. She smiled up at the horse then looked over at Jack. "Be prepared to see a miracle." she joked.

Jack sent her a crooked grin, standing back from the hose, a lump forming in his throat due to nerves. Alright, so he wasn't such a big fan of horses. So he lifted his am, resting his forearm on the side of the carriage and shifting his weight so he was leaning on said carriage.
"Good luck then."

Emerald just smiled and grabbed ahold of the horse's reigns. She mounted the large gelding and adjusted her seat on it's bareback. She grinned and took in a deep breath to calm herself. She nudged the horse with her heels and he started walking. "Come on now I can't ride a horse in the middle of a market." she called down to Jack. She smirked. "Look who's taller now."

Pushing himself roughly off the side of the carriage, Jack strolled after her, perfectly content to look around at the market stalls. Ever since they had arrived in port, he had stayed aboard the ship, determained to make the best meal he could for when the captain awoke. Now he could have a look around, see what ingredients he could buy. It as a rare chance to get something fresh.
"Ye're sat on a horse. If I was too, I'd still be taller than ye."
