Tessa rolled her eyes, shaking her head a little. Inside, of course, she knew that was true. They would all be hung, just like......
"Jus' like me parents." She mumbled, and turned her head away from the navigator, breathing deeply to try and calm herself. The image was there again, of her parents hanging by their necks, arms limp by their sides, not breathing, but mouths wide open...

Sonja had the good sense not to say anything, but she clapped her crewmate lightly on the shoulder and turned back towards the gangly young Irishman. He was standing a few few feet away from the crew, trying to watch all of them at once. "Gannet," said the navigator, striding towards him. The young man flinched and turned to her. "Yes'm?" Then he cleared his throat and tried to sound older than he was. "I mean, what?" Sonja waved a hand behind her at the crew and said, "We be ready to set out. Ye said yer farm was close by, not far out o' town, yeah? Lead the way, laddie." Gannet swung away from her and started walking, seeming terrified at having pirates behind him where he couldn't see them. Sonja glanced around for Liam and Ingo, but didn't see them. She's have to send someone back to fetch them later; in fact, she would come herself. She didn't want any of the crew to think that their first mate and blacksmith were avoiding work.

Tessa felt the hand on her back and clenched her jaw, blinking away the salty tears that were pricking her eyes, having to wipe said eyes with the back of her hand roughly before turning around, pretending that there was nothing wrong. She turned around in time to see the Irish man- Gannet, had Sonja said?- leading the way to the farm. Stupid farm. Stupid Irish. I'd rather be sailing on the open ocean, 'avin' tha' broth tha' Jack's been makin'.
Walking after them, she made sure to keep her distance, guessing the man was obviously terrified of them. How often did a pirate ship appear here? Not very often, probably, by the looks of things.

[Everybody is following Gannet, who is leading the crew to his farm. In return for not reporting the crew to the Navy, they have to work on the farm for as long as they stay in town.]
Sonja turned back and pointed at Emerald, saying, "Get t' the ship an' tell Jack the goin's-on. Then find our first mate an' th' blacksmith, an' get 'em all back wi' the crew afore suppertime. I won't have any o' ye slackin' about an' not doin' yer equal shares o' the work."

Jack himself had stopped stirring the stew and was now trying to tidy up the galley, although he knew that there was no point. It would just become messy again once the crew returned and he served out their supper. Careful not to knock the large pewter bowl, he grabbed the empty bottles of rum and put them in the corner, where he had begun a small collection of the bottles, waiting to get rid of them.

Emerald sped up once she was outside of town to a flat out run. She smiled, all thought of what had been distracting her earlier being blown away by the wind that blew back her brown curls. Her long legs ate up the earth and she was a blur against the scenery. She ran down the little hill to the docks and then up the ladder onto the boat. She was happy to have her blood pumping again. "Jack!" she called out with a grin, her emerald eyes scanning the deck to try and find him. "Oh Jack?" she called out again in a singsong voice.

Rolling his eyes, the cook moved to the door, sticking his head out of the galley door. As soon as he did so, a breeze kicked up and blew his hair about; something he was used to. It took Jack a few moments to scan the deck before he found the form of Emerald. Stepping out, he kicked the door closed behind him, arching an eyebrow at the women.
"Wha'? I be cookin'."

Liam finished eating and wiped his mouth on a napkin, doing his best to be polite. He glanced at Ingo and asked, "Are you done?" He pulled out his beltpurse and fished out a few coins, setting them on the table between his plate and Ingo's. "We should be gettin' back to th' crew, yeah? They'll be lookin' for us, I'm sure."
