tessa's face nearly split in half smiling as she watched rome return to her table from his interaction with archer. she raised her brows, as he sat waiting to hear rome's opinion of him. she liked to know her best friends' opinions of her other friends. "he is pretty cool," she said, feeling a buzz in her pocket. she pulled out her phone and her smile grew so wide it reached her eyes. "and he's asking about you. well, he said 'who's your friend' but i'm still counting that." she rolled her eyes a little. romantic politics annoyed her sometimes.

if people just said so when they liked someone, things would be much less complicated, she thought as she read over archer's text again. at the same time, she didn't want to assume. she didn't really know anything about archer or his love life, so she couldn't really concretely say, but at the very least, rome might get another friend out of the deal. who rome? that would be one of my best friends and cook extraordinaire xo she replied to archer's text finally happy with her response.

she laughed again when rome mentioned elliot's mystery date and wiggled his eyebrows. "i have to admit, he's got me very intrigued," she said honestly, resting her chin on the heel of her palm, her elbow against the tabletop again as she set her phone down next to her. "who on earth could he have found to keep up with his limitless energy?" she laughed a little at her own joke, but the laugh died fairly quickly as she remembered how little she had seen elliot lately. "i haven't been a very good friend lately, i've not been to one of his shows all week," she said, picking up her phone and tapping the corner of the little rectangle against the table. "this new job is sort of killing my social life."
