Ingo had been watching Emerald. "Emerald, where I come from we would have eaten that rat," she said, mainly to see Emerald's reaction, but also because it was partly true. Then her head flicked round to Indigo's command. "Aye Cap'n," with a nod, then got up from the floor, brush strewn somewhere and began to hoist the flag.

Emerald shuddered. "People on the streets don't even eat rats where I'm from. They have diesieses in them."

"Aye, too right, but they're a fair meal if you're dying of starvation," she said. Ingo had hoisted the sail now and it was up in all it's glory. The skull and crossbones billowing in the wind. She looke dup for a moment, then got back to scrubbing. "As I was saying, it's a hard deal is the streets. If you don't have a talent, you dion't have a penny," said Ingo. Thankfully she was a dab hand at stealing so she could usually steal a meal. Also she was good at woodcarving, but unless people were looking for something specific, this barely came in useful.

Indigo felt the hairs at the back of her neck prickle suddenly, and the pirate captain turned. On the horizon and coming closer loomed a huge ship with white sails. Their flag, though, was familiar- Calico Jack, terror of the high seas. "All hands on deck!" she bellowed. "Pirates to starboard! Ready the cannons! Hoist the mainsails! Prepare for battle, buckoes!"

"Melody, open your eyes now!" yelled Rodney, scrambling from his hiding place at the somewhat faint sound of Indigo's voice. He could hear the scuffle of busy feet up on deck also, and he was worried to say the least.

Ingo nodded, only just noticing what Indigo had alerted them about. She knew there had been something. Something on the horizon earleir. the ship was far too fast, this was going to a be a battle, and some might not get out of it. Ingo got to the sails, trying to get them up as quickly as possible, thankfully not panicking as she may have done otherwise. they were fairly quickly, but she was fumbling. The cannons were next.

Betty was alarmed. Should she help? Should she go up there and risk her life? What she should she do? She could hear voices nearby, it was either admit herself now or get caught. She took a deep breath and stood up, coming out from behing the barrels. Her slight frame and brown hair grubby, only her eyes seemed bright. She got up on deck quickly before anyone could see her, her trench coat swirling around her as she quickly got up the ladder. what could she do now? he had no skills on a pirate ship.
