(( Siiiighhhh ))
Chris was tugged violently around and he heard Arowin's voice, but instead of happiness he felt a confusing tingle of anger. What was she trying to pull off this time? He couldn't see or barely breath with his gags but then they were cut and the light blinded him and suddenly Arowin pulled him and he stumbled. He was extremely heavy, so when Arowin took off with him he tripped, still confused from the sudden light and the jerky movements and the kiss and he tripped she accidentally ended up dragging him across the ground. He tried to speak but ended up coughing instead, trying to pick himself up and keep running.
Sam was anticipating a sly trick. He dodged the arrow enough so that it only caught the sleeve of his perfectly clean cloak. He barreled forward, ripping the fabric carelessly. Sam was trained, fit, fast, well-fed, and angry, and now he was already closing the distance between him and his victim quite quickly, going after Arowin and Chris instead of the Prince due to his fury. Arowin had disappeared into the shadows and Sam followed. He heard heavy footsteps ahead of him, twigs snapping, voices muffled, a cough. Sam had a moment of smugness- his steps were light and quick, carefully avoiding all causes of sound. He was an animal, adapted to the forest. He made a grabbing leap for a tree branch and swung himself high, letting go halfway and sailing through the air to land precariously beside Chris. He made a wild grab, eyes burning crazily, and caught Arowin's arm. He twisted in back harshly, hearing a snap but continuing to put all his strength into it.
Chris spun around, reaching for his sword to defend Arowin, only to remember Sam had taken all his weapons away up at the tree platform. Desperate, he punched at the man and his fist connected with Sam's collarbone. It wouldn't kill him but Sam dropped his hand. The only problem was that now he was going for Chris.
Sam growled, shocked, when Chris knocked the breath out of him with a punch to his collar. He staggered, letting go of Arowin's wrist, and lumbered towards Chris, drawing the dagger back out of his belt. Chris turned and ran, with nothing to defend him against the blade. He ran towards to sunlight, calling out for Arowin to follow. Sam rushed after him, determined to get his side of the deal or kill if he had to.
Chris emerged into the sun, blinking, racing towards Rebecca and the Prince, waving wildly for them to stop. He was regaining his senses and glanced behind him to see if the man was following. He wiped his face and saw blood on his hands.
Prince Stephan saw Chris charging the horse, and squirmed over Rebecca's shoulder to reach the reins. He yanked on them hard, not only stopping but rearing the horse. He cursed and tumbled off it's back, nearly falling to be crushed by it's hooves, and grabbed it's mane for dear life, legs swinging. If he let go, he would land on his back and end up pulling Rebecca with him. He might spook the horse and then none of them would escape.
Sam detoured, swerving and heading for the horse and the Prince.
Who are you to claim you're misunderstood?
