Sinbad caught her arm by her elbow. "Sonja, piracy is a lifestyle and a curse. And it isn't below murder, nor above it. Because murder is in everyone. From the time we are born to the time we choose what life we want. I already know I will burn in hell for the stuff I've done. I'm going to be in that little place for piracy. But at least for now, I'm living the life I was dealt."

Sonja turned when Sinbad caught her elbow, finding that her face was just an inch or so from his now. She had so many things to say, a store of angry words t throw at him, to score deep and wound. But it evaporated now, with a painful shiver in the hole where her heart used to be. "Just let me go," she whispered, her eyes searching his.

Sinbad looked in her eyes and brushed the hair from her face. Just small strands from her hair being pulled back. "I'm sorry." He leaned forward slightly and kissed her. He pulled back and looked at her. He released her elbow and started to walk off.

For a moment Sonja was frozen, standing where she had been when Sinbad kissed her. "Go to the docks," she called after him. "Our ship is hard to miss. Wait there." The young woman turned, reaching up to brush the cat sign with one hand as she went through the door. She spotted Liam and Ingo almost immediately, sitting at a table nearby.

Sinbad went to the docks and waited. He wasn't going on a ship when no one was probably not on it. He shook his head. He rubbed the spot of where he was branded and sighed.

Rodney got up, "Thank you Hattie," he said as well and set to work, he wished he was swordfighting, but tried to think of being allowed to even do something like this as a great responsability. Rodney rubbed the plates and cutlery as they were passed from Hatiie, thinking about other things.

Ingo looked up hearing the door, her smile soon faded as she Sonja and the blank lost expression her face held. Ingo placed it almost immediately, she felt like that when she had seen William becoming a heartless man, it was as if Sonja had lost touch with anyhting in he rlife that she loved. "Sonja?" Ingo called, not too loudly, but of a fair volume for her to hear.

Sonja's icy blue-gray eyes shifted slightly so they were on Ingo, and she took a few steps closer until she had a hand on the back of Liam's chair. "Liam," she said, looking down on the blacksmith. "Your brother... Darius..." She closed her eyes, gathering the strength to say the words. "He's... he's dead."

Melody smiled at Rodney, seeing in his face that he was thinking of something else. When the dishes were all washed and stacked away, Hattie smiled at the two of them and said, "Thank you both, you've been a great help. On your ways now, you two." She smiled, hugged them again, then shooed the two children towards the door that led back into the main room. Melody spotted Sonja talking to Ingo and Liam, and pointed. "I wonder what they're talking about," she mused to Rodney.

Sinbad sat at the dock, feeling horrible. He had let him die. It was his fault in the first place. One getting close to caught. He he almost did at the moment he was thinking about it. He backed into the shadows and waited.

"Prob'ly somethin' exciting," Rodney said, he also wondered, he looked at their faces though they were a way away. They seemed to convey an emotion that wasn't excitement at all. Rondey looked at them, his face dropped slightly, he couldn't hear the words, he only saw the faces.

Ingo looked from Sonja to Liam, she couldn't say anything, she couldn't find the words to say, there was nothing.

Liam's skin turned from chocolate brown to white in an instant, as if all the blood had drained right out of him. "He's..." the blacksmith couldn't finish. Sonja hung her head, then pulled up a chair next to their table and sat down, head in her hands. "I don't know what to do anymore," she said in a whisper. "The only family I've got left is dear little Marcus, and he's only three."
