Kade stared out a window in the library at the beautiful day. Birds sang in the trees, their songs harmonizing to make a beautiful melody. The grass was a soft spring green. People were outside, talking, playing, and reading. A soft breeze stirred the tree branches, as well as the hair of those outside. Smiles were etched on the faces of everyone. He looked away from the cheerful scene and to the book in his hand. It was a hardcover book with a green cover and yellowed pages that told of its age. It was also a brilliant book full of tales that he could spend all day reading. Sure, he was an adult, and probably too old to be reading such things, but he aspired to become a writer and a florist, if he ever managed to get out of here first. Maybe he could find others who wanted to escape with him and they could devise a plan. Hopefully, he would gain control of his strange power and be able to live like any normal human. But that would never happen, not in a million years. Even if it did, it would take years of practice and lots of discipline in order to be able to control his power consciously and keep it in check. If he ever did escape, he'd have to live far away where no one could find him. Then he'd never reach his goals, his hopes and dreams. He would be stuck in the middle of nowhere for all eternity. I guess that's just my lot in life, he thought, as he walked out of the library, bumping into a girl with violet eyes. He caught a glimpse of silver hanging down her back out of the corner of his eye, but paid no attention. He just walked to his room, where he could read in silence and solitude.

[Erica hasn't posted in awhile, so I'm just gonna post Chris doing something else.]
Chris glared at the ceiling of her cell, or, at least, into the darkness that would have been her ceiling. All of the lights were turned off, as usual, so she was staring into seemingly complete nothingness, a black void that could not be penetrated except by an outside light source. The only real reason her lights were off is because she had destroyed them, so the only possible way for light to enter is if someone opened the door, but if they did, she would probably strangle them. She hated this place. She hated everything about it. She hated the people, she hated the lodgings, she hated the idiot that came in here every once in awhile to talk to her. Sometimes, she could swear she even hated herself. Everyone else seemed to hate her, but at least that meant they would leave her alone. She sat there in her grouchiness and misery, glaring into the darkness.

Anna walked silently through the halls to the library, a book in hand. When she reached the door, a man walked out, bumping into her and not saying a word, not even "Excuse me." He left a blood red mark on her arm that quickly faded away. She returned the book to the librarian, without saying a word, careful not to touch her. After this, she went to the shelves to pick out a new one. Her violet eyes scanned the shelves, looking for a title that caught her eye. She pulled her silver ponytail over her shoulder, and began yanking it, as she often did when she was searching for something or she was confused or nervous. She finally found a purplish-white book, its title reading, DragonQuest. This was the sequel to the book she had just returned, so she picked it up and checked it out, wanting to continue Kale's adventures with dragons, grawligs, mordakleeps, and pesky doneels. She then walked out of the library, hurriedly making her way back to her room, so as to not be found by anyone. The ball of light floating over her shoulder pulsed a hazy gold, as if her happiness was somehow disturbed. She ignored this, and closed the door to her room, preferring the solitude of her books to the company of others, whom she did not want to give her moon mark to.

Ryder blinked, and the girl disappeared. He could sense that there was something terribly wrong with this, as he saw guards fall into pools of their own blood, and the girl not being surrounded looking greenish, as if she were about to throw up. His eyes widened, and he stepped back a few feet, so as not to be in the way of the invisible girl and whatever weapon she might be using.
