My jaw dropped and I glanced at Alex. I didn't think any of us had even close to 5 grand. Quickly, I stuck my hand in my pocket and fished around. A few moments later, I pulled something out and held it out to the lady in my palm. "I have..." I quickly counted the money. "Fourteen dollars and eleven cents."

(I asked a friend how much an average car would cost, and that's about $1,000 LESS than he suggested! I'm thinking of changing the price to around...$900. still realistic (enough) without going up into the thousands.)

"I've got...$34 bucks. Even." Alex suggested, pulling a $20, a $10, and 4 $1's out of his pocket.

"I got...zip." Rusty said after digging around in his pockets.

"I got a few dollars...but I don't think it's gonna help much." Nick suggested, pulling $3 out of his pocket. "I'm gonna go ask Phill and Marcas, because I've only got $12." Audrey said, flashing her money before dashing off.

"I have..." I pulled off my shoe, and money fell out in a tight wad. I quickly counted the cash and groaned. "Not enough, but I have $120." I'd secretly saved some in my other shoe for food and whatnot.

"Phill has $92 and Marcas has $111" Audrey said, holding up the money.

I set out all the money on the counter in front of the lady. "Will this cover it?"

"umm...*does math in head* not quite...it's only $386.11..." Janet said reluctantly.

I looked at the others desperately. "Well is there a cheaper one?" I begged the lady.

"yes..but..." Janet tried to hide her hand slipping a coupon onto the floor. "they're not as good. Most of the cheaper ones are only cheaper because they either have technical problems ore were not very well made."

(BLEH...sorry this part sucks so much...it's kinda unplanned...and I really wanna get through this part ABD get them on the road again. *starts singing 'on the road again'* X3)

Audrey picked up the coupon. "45% off any non-clearance car..." she read aloud. She dug in her other pocket for her calculator and did the math. "that makes it $495...close, but still too much." Audrey said, putting her calculator back in her pocket. "let's re-check pockets! Maybe I did leave that ten in this jacket..." Alex suggested, shoving his hand into his pockets.
