Outlawed (Version 3)

Emerald frowned, hugging her back and holding back tears. "You best visit me." she said, joking and smiling with tears in her eyes. "Good luck. And tell the baby I said hi." When Arrowin walked off to go get Ace Emerald took took a few steps closer to the Huntsman. "You take care of her. If I ever find out you've done anything to her I will hunt you down and...." She sighed. "I know you won't do anything. Just take care of her. Okay?"

Alstwin frowned slightly. Arrowin was really going to leave with him. He took a step back when Emerald started to threaten him, but then she stopped and he could tell she was just worried for Arrowin. "I'll take care of her." he said, putting a hand on her shoulder. "I promise."

"Of course I will visit Emerald! Every day, you won't even notice I'm gone." Arowin said and swung up onto Ace's back. She glanced at the wagon watching everyone pile in. She then turned away determined not to show any weakness. She stroked her gelding's neck and turned to Alstwin and gave him a smile. "At least you don't have to put up with Finnick anymore. Just me." she said teasing him lightly.

Emerald smiled. "Okay good. Be careful." she said, watching her and Alstwin. She waved to them and then and sighed, letting all her emotions wipe off her face. "Alright, people. We got to get to France. Let's get back in the wagon." she said, jumping up into the driver's seat again and picking up the reins.

Alstwin smiled up at Arrowin and started walking along the dirt road with her. "Good. I'm just about done with him. But speaking of Finnick, I need to get back to him. Get my horse and axe, possibly kill him." He chuckled at the thought. "I could break his next with a flick of my wrist." he mused.

Frank watched as Arowin and the huntsman went away with each other, he nodded in a farewell although it was barely visible even to him. He watchd up until the point Emerald had rejoined the cart and was sat in the drivers seat, him joining next to her, leaning forwards on his knees, jaw tight as he stared out ahead, not really wanting to speak as he knew he'd get a mouthful back if he did.
As Arowin rode away on Ace, Diad turned his head and whinnied loudly in a farewell way, tossing his head about and snorting, following the cart away with envy.

Emerald sighed and was silent for a long time. The only noises were those of the forest surrounding the road and the creaking of the wooden cart. "We'll make do." she said finally, glancing over at Frank. She flicked the reins hard--but not brutally- over the cart horses rears and they picked up a fast canter, the cart going much faster and surprisingly, not as bumpy as it was before. Emerald smiled, small at first and then she grinned. "I've never driven a cart before." she told Frank as the horses picked up a little more speed. She giggled and pulled back slightly on the reins, keeping a constant pressure on them so the horses didn't take off and get out of control.

Frank signed heavily and nodded "I know" he said tiredly, right hand quickly grabbing hold of the side of the seat as the horses cantered forward, his eyes widening as they picked up speed "So I guess I should be worried then" he called over to Emerald as she explained how she had never driven a cart, truth be told he had only driven one once or twice but that news was alarming. His cape flapped wildly to the side as he tried to stare through the darkness, the sound of snorting horses and heavy hooves filled the air.

Arowin smiled as she rode next to Alstwin who walked alongside her. "Kill him sounds good and might keep the rest of those knights off our trail but I think it will be best if you just dumped him out in the middle of nowhere and let him cry himself to death. That would be fun to watch." she said picturing it which was pretty easy. Finnick seemed like the weak kind who would do such a thing as stupid and pointless as that. In the distance Arowin could hear the cart rattle off quickly and sighed shaking her head. "Emerald is going to run all those horses into the ground if she isn't careful, not even the horses trailing behind will rest with that pace." she said to herself softly.

Emerald laughed again but it was carried away by the wind. "This is so much fun!" she called into the wind, grinning. But after a few more seconds she slowed down the horses back to a walk. "See, there was no need to be worried. I have everything under control. We didn't die or anything, and neither did the horses. I just wanted to make sure they could run with the cart, in case we get chased or anything." she explained.

Alstwin chuckled and shook his head. "Yes, that would be fun to watch." He could just imagine it. First, he would get enraged and stomp around shouting curses into the air, ranting on like a child. And then he would get worried. And then he'd be outright crying. He looked over his shoulder at the mention of the cart, but couldn't see it anymore. "She's a wild one, alright." he said, shaking his head.

Arowin shrugged with a smile. "She is, I don't think she will ever really settle down but then again there was a time when the same could have been said about me." Arowin said with a chuckle. For some reason she didn't feel as empty as she thought she would if she ever left the Hood. She was really looking forward to her quieter life with her family. Ace swung his head around while Arowin was thinking happily and started nudging Alstwin and searching him for treats which he new was bound to have, after all what human didn't carry treats?

Alstwin smiled. "Were you really as bad as all the legends and folk songs make you out to be? Was any of the Hood ever that bad?" he asked. He honestly was curious. He hadn't seen them kill anybody, and none of the Hood--even their leader--was murderous and blood thirsty. And certainly not Arrowin, at least not the one he knew. He scowled slightly when Ace started nudging him and sniffing at his pockets. "What do you want?" he snapped at the horse, moving away from him. But nope, that couldn't stop him. He looked up at Arrowin. "Make him stop, he's nibbling at my clothes!"
