Gavin's eyes flicked towards Lindsey when she started talking about her horse. As far as he knew, dutch warmbloods were beautiful and talented. When she asked what discipline they do, he let out a sigh. "I try to dabble in them all, but I was raised with a hunter/jumper background. Walt really likes showjumping though," he added with a chuckle. "What about you?" Gavin asked, running a hand through his hair. His eyes danced around to the other people talking but landed back on Lindsey in wait for her response.

Portia's eyes widened when the boy took her hand and shook it. A smile crossed her lips obviously now, and she let out a little giggle when he started asking questions. Portia was in love with him already, he seemed like so much fun! "Well, I am a beginner, so I don't have a defined discipline yet but I really like cross country! It's like an adrenaline rush," she said, green eyes dancing around the boys face. She was trying to remember details of his face because everyone looked the same with riding clothes and a helmet on. "And I don't have a horse so I'm just riding lesson horses I guess," she said, with a smile. "Now it's your turn to answer all those questions," she said with a little laugh.

"I'm a beginner too, hey!" Will said, his voice showing his excitement. "Cross country... I never considered it. Tug and I are racers to the bone. He's good at tricking people-he doesn't seem like he's nearly as good as he is. He's also really well trained-and he throws anyone other than me off him. He's very loyal, and he loves apples." He grinned, looking Portia over. She was pretty, he noticed, prettier than some, and she looked like a nice person. Maybe they could be friends-Will always loved making new friends. He tried to think of more questions to ask her. "So what lesson horse do you think you'll be riding? Do you have one picked out yet or are you just going with what they give you?" He ended up asking, curious to learn more about this new girl.

Portia's smile grew even wider when the boy said he was a beginner too. She felt lucky that she picked the one boy in this sea of people that was the same riding level. She wondered if she would be in the same lesson as him. When Will mentioned his horse Tug, she tried to envision what he looked like just by his description. She thought that the horse sounded nice, especially because he was loyal to his owner. She would be sure to meet him and give him an apple soon. "I would love to meet him," she said enthusiastically. Portia then mulled over his next question before giving a response. "I don't know what one I'm assigned to yet, but the paint mare looks super nice so I'd love to have her. I'm sure that any horse they give me will be a challenge one way or another." she added, eyes flicking to the growing crowd for a moment. "Where are you from?" she asked, getting to more personal questions now. "I was actually born in Venice, but I moved to Seattle Washington when I was eight months old and lived there ever since." Portia was excited that she was getting to know someone so quickly. She hoped that her and Will could be good friends.
