"That's really special with a horse, having him trust you so much!" she said. Wow. She would hope to one day have a horse that seemed as special as his. She could see a hint of a smile on his face. *He's so cute* she thought. "I have actually been riding for quite a while already." she felt embarrassed, but had no clue why. "I was never really searching for a horse before, so that's why I don't have one. The matter of the fact is that I really had no clue I was to come here since about a month ago. My family could have never afforded it, or a horse for that matter. I have always leased horses, but never owned one. It's embarrassing for me to say, but I am more of a scholarship kid here, as someone else is paying for me to come here and become as professional as possible. By the time I leave, I do hope I will have a horse of my own though!"

Halt nodded. "He's been with me a long time. He was trained to respond specifically to one person, and I guess I fit the requirements for that person." He smiled slightly more remembering the first time he had ridden Abelard, the moment he knew he loved these gentle yet dangerous horses. "It's better to have a horse of your own to ride, in my opinion. It gives you a stronger bond if you are the only one who can ride it. I'm sure you'll be happy when you find your own horse that you love." He told her, somewhat reassuringly.

Gavin followed behind the excited girl as she showed him her horse. He peered into stall four and he saw a beautiful buckskin gelding. He moved his hand up to the bars of the stall and let the horse sniff him before he went to pet him. Gavin's eyes moved to Marie as she spoke about her horse. He smiled at the girls enthusiasm about her horse, but he noticed a bit of sadness that crept into her eyes once she mentioned her dad. He decided that she shouldn't press the issue now, since he had just met the girl. "How old is he? He sure is beautiful," Gavin added, eyes trailing back to the horse. "What kind of riding do you do? My favorite is showjumping," he added, trying to get to know Marie. She was a nice girl and he could feel a friendship forming.

Marie keeping her eyes focused on her horse as she replies " He is 6 years old. Thank you, he is pretty handsome isn't he?" She added with a smile. "Yes I agree jumping is fun, he loves it, but Eventing is his game. It is just the way he was trained I guess, or the fact that he has a huge heart for the sport." The patted dream and the turned to face Gavin. "Your probably wondering what a 15 year old girl is doing here at such a competitive riding stable, I assume?" She asked him curiously.

When Marie mentioned eventing, Gavin's blue eyes flicked back to the gelding in the stall. He could see the horse being good at eventing, especially cross country. His hind end was good for jumping large obstacles, and his neck was muscular, obviously built up for dressage. He smiled at the thought of Walt doing dressage, the large clunk would hate it. Maybe dressage would be something the two would work on together this year.
When the girl mentioned she was fifteen, Gavin's eyes widened for a second. She was five years younger than him, but he assumed that she was a good rider. He thought she could be seventeen at the youngest, but she conducted herself much more mature than her actual age. "Yeah, I guess you're that good, huh?" he asked, a smile tugging at his lips again. He rested his arm against the stall wall, taking a bit of weight off his feet for a moment.
