Riley looked up, her eyes a harsh brown. She looked down at her hands. The dangerous possibility of her being able to wrap her bony hands around her neck. She could cut off her breathing now, put a stop to all the panic attacks and hyperventilation it brings. But, instead she walked solemnly towards the courtyard. She glanced towards the others, she knew she was most likely to die here. But, she always had a feeling that she'd die young and alone, now she knows why and how, just not when. She looked around as she sat on the ground against the corner of the wall.
"You're safe. Safe, safe, safe. The boys don't miss you, they didn't want you around, you had problems. Too many for them to handle."
Riley murmured repeatedly to herself as she tried to remember the days of haze she had gone through before she arrived here. She never wanted to die like this. She would have preferred anything over rotting in a cell and walking around friendless, having no communication for months but seeing people every single day of her life in this asylum.

As Coraline's hand stretched out for him to hand it to her, her delicates fingers brushed the weapon in a longing way. But the guard stepped away, glaring at Coraline, eyes only equal to a fiery cauldron. Coraline's gaze hardened, now she was commanding him, "Give me that knife, idiot," of course in her mind she was screaming other words, more colorful then idiot. Suddenly her body was lunging for it, waiting for that cool steel to slice into her skin, waiting to be lathered in blood. But it never came. The guard had took off running, and soon Coraline tripped over something, a leg? Rock? She didn't know, but then her face slammed into the hard coarse ground, not mud or grass, pavement. The word seared itself into her mind, and her face cracked into a grin laying there blood spilling into her hair. Maybe this was it, Coraline thought with glee, all the suffering over, all the pain and life itself would be over. But as she laid there, all Coraline could feel was her fading smile.

Erica flushed a bit at his answer looking embarrassed at the thought of that, unsure what exactly to say. Her low self esteem insisted, in the voice of her father, that he was lying and it wasn't possible for anyone to possibly like her. She looked down at her hands attempting to force the blush on her cheeks away. It was silly to act like she was, for all she knew he could just be joking anyways. They had just met after all. But maybe it was possible a tiny part insisted.
"I've never had anything close to a friend much less anything else." She murmured quietly, embarrassment continuing a bit, not meeting his silvery eyes.
When he changed the topic she blinked in relief feeling a little less embarrassed now. She lifted her eyes again but glanced out at everyone else realizing she hadn't been paying them any attention. For a moment she had almost forgotten they were in an insane asylum. Shaking her head, Erica answered turning her attention back to him, "No, I've never tried video logs I mean I never got a chance, my life before here was...different." She bit her lip and rubbed her arm, tracing something on top of her sleeve, the timid scared look coming back.
Coming back to the present she shook her head again. "And no we can't really communicate much, I don't know much about her at all except that she isn't anything like me." She shrugged a bit.

The way Darwin was listening to Erica was strange for him. Usually he was rather unattentive, but now he was genuinely intrigued. She never gotten the chance to meet her other personality. That was a foreign idea to him... but only partially. After all, he'd never met Sylar before. It was an odd concept to him that two people could share a body, share a life, and yet never be able to communicate. Darwin looked at the scar on his arm yet again and rolled his eyes mentally. "He definitely did leave his message, though..." he thought, snapping back to attention and looking back to Erica again.
She'd made him curious. "Different? How so?" He asked, listening to her continue on. He made a small "hmm" noise, looking down at his hands. "Maybe the four of us should go on a date sometime," he teased, motioning weakly towards his head. "Hopefully not the five of us..." His thoughts murmured and he nearly cringed. Then he looked to her and winked playfully. "You get to know Cam, I get to know her, and the two of you get to know each other... Cam and I are definitely not alike, either," he chuckled, shaking his head. He absentmindedly ran his hand through his hair, a habit of his that was sometimes a little annoying when he realized how often he did it.

Erica cringed inwardly as he asked her how her life was different. Perhaps she should have expected him to ask, and it probably would have come up eventually. She tugged her sleeves down about her wrists a little self consciously wondering how exactly to evade the question without seeming rude. She couldn't just ignore it and she had never been good at being assertive in situations like these.
"I- I don't like to talk about it." Her voice came out in a quiet stutter, making her flush unhappily. She tugged her hair over her shoulder and hid behind it a bit.
Thankfully he seemed good at mixing okay topics with uncomfortable ones, and she couldn't help but smile at the idea of going on a date. Not even in her wildest dreams had she imagined such a thing possible. Going on a date with someone like her did make sense though. Not that they could do that here, and honestly she wasn't totally sure about the idea.
"I'm not sure how a date would work here, but it would be nice to talk some more." She offered, not exactly accepting the idea nor denying it. A date felt like too much, but she could talk to him, and the idea of being friends appealed to her. How that would work in the insane asylum exactly she didn't know, but the idea certainly sounded nice. Very nice.
