She shook her head and set down Mist pulling out a small notepad writing tree simple but hard words. 'I am mute.' she wrote on the pad and looked at them

Tristen nodded. "I see." He smiled a bit at her. "Well, that's no reason you can't hang out with us."

Dyna wagged her tail happily and walked up to Pearl, sniffing her. The little terrier seemed happy to meet someone new. She doggy-smiled at Pearl, trying to be friendly.

Pearl jumped a little bit seeing the terrier. She looked up at them and nodded setting her arm down. The bite mark scars and just plain scars covered her arm left and right

Tristen looked at his dog. "Dyna! Come here." He picked her up and held her in his arms so she wouldn't cause any more trouble. "Sorry, she gets a bit excited..." He looked at Pearl's arm, thinking quietly. "I take it... that's the reason you're afraid of dogs?"

Pearl nodded pulling her sleeve down. she looked at Mist and closed her eyes having the awful flashback. She slowly opened her eyes and looked at the ground

Hayden sat on his bed and looked up at Pearl. "I've never met a mute before." He smiled. "None of us will hurt you here. Cali and I will make sure of that." He told her reassuringly.

Hayden smiled over at Tristen then looked back at Pearl. He remembered taking a class a while back in sign language and tried to test out his knowledge. Do you know sign language? He signed to her.
