↣ alexis listened to the teacher’s instructions quietly, with a blank expression laid on her face. she was lazily holding her bag in her hands, and her guitar on her back, which she obviously had to take with her.

the girl was about to go up front to get a list of the dorms, when she could hear luciana’s screaming. automatically a deep sigh escaped her lips. listening to the exchange of words between luciana and miss, made a small smile appear on alexis’ face, though. ”then you must be with... kyleigh... reagan... alexis, ariella and grayson?” were the words that caused it exactly.

alexis nodded to herself, she got a great dorm! of course if she could, she’d throw luciana right out of there, but the others in her dorm were great! she got her list from miss, with the smile still plastered on her face, resulting in miss giving her a weird look.

alexis followed luciana into the mansion, looking around as she did so. obviously the place wasn’t exactly what you’d hope for, but hey, with great company it could turn out just fine. maybe if she got really lucky, luciana would get lost in the woods or something!

↣ kian was in the back of the group, trying to hear everything over all the noise. he also had to tiptoe to see what was happening in front. the boy flinched slightly when he heard luciana’s screaming, but it wasn’t anything out of the ordinary really.

kian pushed past all the others, saying an ”excuse me” or ”sorry” softly now and then. he grabbed a list and thanked miss before stepping out of the way to examine the paper.

his eyes scanned the list for his own name. he was in a dorm with zane, chase, jackson and fawn. kian was happy with his dorm, it wasn’t anything too bad, right? he then checked his valentine’s pairing. ”chase? oh no...” he mumbled to himself. he didn’t hold anything against her, he felt more like chase was the one who wasn’t too fond of him. maybe that was how she always was, but kian wasn’t sure.

moving on from the list, time for kian’s next problem. staying over night in a haunted mansion. it sounded like a nightmare to him. kian watched as some of the others started to make their way inside, but he really didn’t feel like it. he just stood there, staring at the building in front of him, with literal horror in his eyes. he was really considering staying out and sleeping with the raccoons, but it would get dark outside as well.

kian bit the inside of his cheek, trying to see if any of his dorm-mates would go inside, so that he could join them. even if it wasn’t dark yet, he was not about to explore the mansion alone.

Alex took out one earbud so he could hear Sir's directions, then he took his lists after quietly thanking Miss and plugged his earbud back in. Alex was almost always listening to music, partially because he loved music and it helped him concentrate, but also partially because it gave him an excuse to not talk to people. He could hear Luciana complaining over the peaceful piano piece playing in his earbuds, but didn't pay much attention to her.

Apparently, for the Valentine event, he was paired up with Kyleigh. That wasn't too bad. Kyleigh was nice, and she wasn't annoying either. Maybe they could become acquaintances, or even something like friends. He didn't want to make her mad or give her a bad impression of himself, since they had to go to the event together anyway. Alex wasn't very interested in making friends here, but if somebody wanted to befriend him, and Alex liked that person enough, then sure, but he wouldn't go out of his way for that person or to make a friend. He had signed up because he heard they were going on a trip.

As he examined the mansion, he decided that it wasn't a bad place to stay for a bit. It was large enough to fit all of them. When he looked over his dorm mates, Alex sighed softly. He was put with all girls. How would his homosexual self survive there? No matter. It wasn't like he was looking for a crush here, and the people he was put with were pretty nice. But he would definitely try to keep to himself and be alone as much as possible, or as much as he could in his dorm. Or, even better, he could hang out at a different dorm or just outside. He was a bit bummed that there probably wasn't a place for him to practice his dancing though, or maybe work with someone else, because there were a lot of good dancers here.

He picked up his duffel bag and let his hoodie's sleeves hang over his hands, trying to warm up his hands, which got cold from the February morning. He hoped he wouldn't get lost inside the place, or inside the forest. Then he proceeded to make his way to the building, regretting his choice of pants, because these ripped jeans in particular were pretty damaged and didn't keep him warm whatsoever.

Maybe it was a mistake to take part in all of this. Her older sister, Quinn, had been very adamant about getting her little sister to sign up however. 'It'll be fun,' she said. 'You need to get out of your comfort zone,' she said. "Oh, Quinn, what've you done to me this time...?" the blonde murmured to herself, glancing around at all the other students with her. The bus ride wasn't so bad, but she'd spent a large majority of the time watching their surroundings move past them through the windows, idly listening to everyone else's conversations. She didn't pay much attention to the other students as she nervously fidgeted with the straps of her bag.

The mention of the Valentine lists caused a pit of anxiety to form inside her gut. Going to the dance with someone being chosen for her... Why did she listen to her sister? What if she was assigned to someone she didn't know or didn't like? Alyssa paid little attention to Sir, as she didn't like him. Why would she care about anything he had to say besides the event lists and rules? Right now she could've been at home, sitting on her bed with Ollie and Layla curled up next to her. They probably thought she'd betrayed them by leaving.

Alyssa was quick to take her lists and go, giving the teacher small 'thank you' as she left. She hesitantly stepped to the side and took a peek at the dorm list first, deciding that this was the lesser evil of the lists. Hmm. Being in dorm 5 wasn't so bad, although she noted that Alex was the only male there. Poor guy. And then came the Valentine list. It took three rereadings of the list to make sure she was reading it right. Daniel? Alyssa bit the inside of her cheek, feeling her cheeks heat up. Fate must have really liked her when the lists were being made. Or maybe hated her? She didn't know. The outcast brushed a bit of her hair out of her face, folding her lists up as she turned to walk towards the building.

jesse stood amongst many other teenagers, awaiting to hear which dorm they be in and which valentine they be paired with. and of course, jesse just couldn't contain her large amount of excitement. she squealed with excitement. then just as one of the people in charge spoke, jesse made sure to listen. as they finished saying the rules, jesse raced to see the valentines list and the dorms list.

jesse first looked at the valentines list, after all, this was her chance to find love. she looked at the list, anxious but excited. she saw her name, just beside shiros. shiro huh? this should be interesting! she thought. and she was indeed happy with whom she was paired with. jesse then quickly moved on to the dorm list. she then exchanged her glance to the fourth dorm, as she saw her name. jesse smiled happily, again, satisfied with whom she was put with. she took her lists and quickly ran off to grab her bags. jesse grabbed her two bags and headed off to her dorm.

Kyleigh proceeded along with the other kids to get her list, immediately reading it to get it over with. Her eyes widened at what she was looking at and she let out a scoff, her brown gaze scanning around for that particular female. Of course they’d make the one girl who I try to avoid every second of my life, my roommate... but at least Alexis is there, she thought to herself, then gazed at the words that read who her partner for the valentines dance was. It read Alexander but lucky for her she didn’t have any problems with him. He wasn’t like those rude people, or at least to her he wasn’t. Kyleigh stuffed the papers somewhere in her jacket pockets and headed up to her dorm, her suitcase trailing behind her.

Kyleigh caught sight of one of her best friends, Alexis and squeal escaped her lips as she picked up her pace, attacking her in a hug with a huge smile plastered on her face. “Hey what’s up?”, she asked Alexis, flattening down her shirt and walking beside the other girl. Not too far up ahead was Luciana who was probably headed in the same direction as them but she ignored the girl, facing Alexis once again.

↣ alexis realized that she’d forgotten to check who her valentine was. she scanned the list in her hand and tilted her head slightly after finding what she was looking for. ”pierce, huh? not bad.” she spoke to herself. pierce was cool but both alexis and him had their own love interests, so maybe they’d just go to the dance as friends.

alexis was still following luciana, she tried to stay lowkey though, because luciana wasn’t in the mood to play right now. soon she heard a squeal from behind her, that she could already recognize, with a hug following.

”kyleeeigh!” alexis smiled back at her friend. hearing her question, alex shrugged. ”the sky’s up.” she simply answered, knowing that it was the most annoying answer ever. alex then nudged kyleigh with a smirk. ”sooo... who’s your valentine?” she asked cheerfully.

xxxxhalf the time that the two older people were talking, lucas was leaning against indigo's shoulder as he dozed off. he heard what they were saying, something about complaining or else they'd be sleeping in the garbage with the raccoons, and not bothering 'sir' because he didn't get paid enough to be bothered by a bunch of teenagers. which, lucas didn't completely understand, because he was the one who had volunteered-- or had been voluntold to do so, he really didn't know --to go along with them on this trip. he was, however, going to do just as he was told-- and leave him alone. he didn't want to sleep outside, even as much as he liked camping. though, he had to be honest, if he got stuck in the same room as a couple of certain people, then he would voluntarily sleep outside. other than that, he would be more than happy to leave the guy alone. he wasn't of any importance, so there wasn't a point in bothering him unless 'miss' wasn't around, anyway.
xxxxindigo's giggling caused him to lift his head, and he turned and glared at her. she was obviously amused by something, but it wasn't anything that he was able to pinpoint. he could see the amused glint in her eyes, and tried to follow her gaze, but failed to locate where her eyes fell. arching an eyebrow, lucas turned to look at indy once again, shaking his head at her as she gave him a questioning look. shaking his head, he turned towards the other two, head tilted to the side as he listened to the two of them speak about the rules. of course, sir had to bring up the fact that he shouldn't be bothered, only to go on about the fact that no violence was permitted, but things that could entertain him were perfectly alright.
xxxxlucas looked at indigo as she returned to him, carrying another sheet of paper with her as she read her own. he wasn't even able to say a simply thank you before indy squealed and crushed the paper in her hands with a wide smile on her face. he winced, closing his eyes as he released a sigh. when he looked at the list himself, he couldn't help but roll his eyes at the result. the excitement that was on her face, as well as the loud squeal that she had emitted, was proof enough that she was happy about who she was stuck with. he was happy for her, as well-- it was hard not to be, when she talked about zane quite a bit compared to anyone else she ever talked about. though, when he looked for his own name, his hands squeezed the paper in sheer anger before he looked at the room arrangements before he crumbled the paper up and irritably shoved it in his bag. they could have paired him with anyone else, and he would have been content with it. but luciana? he would much rather jump into the school's garbage. he didn't have a valid reason to dislike her, other than the fact that she wasn't as tolerable as she seemed. if her reaction to being paired with lucas wasn't enough proof as to her level of brattiness, then there really wasn't any other way to prove it.
xxxxturning his head at pierce's exclamation, he chuckled. his friend's childish nature was amusing, and it would be a lie if he were to say that he didn't actually love the guy. shaking his head, he neared him with an amused smile on his face. he turned and looked at the latter's bags, nodding his head before he came closer to pierce, tilting his head to the side as he chuckled softly, "squeeze me to death, instead-- i don't think anyone has anything soft that you can particularly hug to calm your anger after seeing the list," he offered pierce a smile, "at least you're rooming with the more tolerable people of the school." he crouched down, elbows rested on his knees as he sat on his heels. he was genuinely surprised that his friend had managed to come within such a close proximity to wildlife, especially a fawn. he pulled up a small hand-full of the green grass, and opened his palm towards the fawn as he extended his hand. lucas watched as the fawn cautiously ate the little grass from his hand, and carefully drew it back before he stood up straight once more, "as much as i know you're enjoying time with your new best friend, we should probably get inside and figure out where our room is, yeah?"

xxxxunlike lucas, who had his head resting on her shoulder (how, she really had no idea) and was pressing most of his weight into her, indigo was paying attention to what they were saying. if anything, she didn't want to be like some people and have things go in one ear, and out the other. of course, once they get down tot he rules that would probably happen (because what fun would it be if no one broke the rules? that was one of the things that indy was good at, and actually enjoyed) and she'd be entirely at fault-- but, for the time being, she was listening well. sir was obviously not going to have any of their crap, even though he kind of agreed to this, and that was definitely something that she wouldn't ignore. not so she can abide by the thing he said about bothering him, just so she could go against it at some point and bother him about something just to test his nerves. indy knew that lucas, or someone else, would tell her to stop-- and then, she would, but until then? it was all an open field.
xxxxhearing zane's words, indigo giggled. zane was amusing to her, even if he weren't amusing to others, and it was hard for her not to find his words amusing-- mainly because what he said would actually be rather nice. she doubted, however, that anything would happen if they got paired with someone that they despised. turning her eyes away from zane, she looked at her friend, and tilted her head questioningly, eyebrows furrowed before she turned her head towards the teacher once again, folding her arms over her chest as she listened to them continue. once the rules came along, a smirk inched its way onto her lips, and she shifted her weight onto her other foot as she 'listened' to them. there was one she was going to abide by, and that was staying in the mansion at any time past eleven at night. it wasn't the fact that she was scared to get lost, it was the fact that there was a huge chance she would be out like a light before ten thirty.
xxxxwithout saying a word, indigo skipped towards the woman handing out the papers, and once she was handed on, she held out her other hand for a second one and left as soon as it was in her hand. carefully, she began to walk back towards lucas, her eyes scanning over the words on the paper as she searched for both her name, as well as going over the dorm arrangements. coming closer to lucas, she slowed down slightly and held out the other paper, her eyes lighting up and a wide grin taking place on her lips as she interrupted lucas-- who hadn't even got to start saying anything --with a squeal of pure delight. she was happy about her pairing, of course she was-- why wouldn't she be? she didn't know exactly if zane felt the same about her that she did him-- mainly because they barely talked --but she was happy nonetheless. if her schoolgirl crush on him, and being paired with him didn't get anywhere, then even being his friend would be something she would be happy about.
xxxxoffering lucas an apologetic smile as she lowered the paper, she glanced around and looked at everyone. she hoped that no one heard her squeal. the main reason being that they'd be able to figure out why she was squealing to begin with. and, if zane had heard her squeal, it would more than likely be far more embarrassing than if someone else had heard her. lucas wasn't the problem, it was other people. after a few seconds, she shook her head at herself and turned towards the mansion, swinging her bag over her shoulder as she watched the others near the large building.

→ emily waited patiently for her turn to pick up the dorm assignment and valentine lists. once she had them in hand, she walked over to the corner where she'd set her bag to look over them. dorm four, with shiro, jesse, niall, and cassius. that seemed fine. she didn't have issues with any of them. she switched over to the valentine's list. emily cleary and cassius kingston it said. emily couldn't help the small smile that grew on her face. he was a sweet boy. he had the cutest fluffy hair and seemed like a good soul. even though she didn't care much for this valentine program, she wasn't going to be anything but kind towards this boy. even if they couldn't match romantically, at least they could be good friends.

emily folded the papers and slid them into her hoodie pocket. she picked up her bag, easily slinging it over her shoulder, and headed to her dorm. she set it down on the rightmost corner bed, and began to unpack her sleeping bag and a few decorations she'd brought to make it feel more homey.

Ariella stood in the grass, her eyes glued on Sir as he began reading off the rules and what they were to be doing today. The teacher was very nonchalant about the trip, and she felt a slight flutter of annoyance as he sarcastically walked away, not even showing them their dorms. That left Miss standing in the open, with the papers for the dorms and their pairs. To be completely honest, Ari was not at all excited for this year's dance. They were pairing them up, and honestly, she didn't really care who she was paired up with. It would be a guy and, who cares about guys? The cheerleader sighed before walking up to Miss and standing in line. There were only 26 people here, most of which she didn't mind being in the same room with. Her heart began to pound as she got closer, now she was worrying. Who would she be with? It was only for one night, why was she so nervous? Her eyes flitted to Miss's face as she reached the front, giving her a quick smile before snatching the papers and walking away quickly. Her blue eyes scanned the page for her name on the dorm page, and she sucked in a breath as she saw who she was with. The first name that came up, Luciana. She let out a groan and closed her eyes, she took a deep breath before tucking a strand of loose hair behind her ear and continuing on. Dealing with the others would be fine, but it was the other cheerleader that would make her lose her mind. She quickly folded that paper and turned her attention to the other one. Her eyes found themselves at her name, paired with Jackson. She could handle him, she wasn't fond of him necessarily, but the night wouldn't be so horrible. Ella let out a long awaited breath and picked up her bag. As she walked towards the mansion, she heard a loud feminine screech. Luciana. Today was going to be a nightmare.

Daniel was one of the first in line to get his papers, honestly excited to see who he was with. As he began to read them, his eyes landed on his dorm. Pierce, Rosaleigh, Lucas, and Henry. Daniel smiled, these were people he could get along with. Speaking of Pierce, the male was nowhere to be found in the crowd of people waiting to see who their pairs were. He looked around, squinting in the sunlight, until he found Pierce. The young male shook his head, smiling, Pierce and his animals. Daniel forgot about the second paper in his hand, until he spotted Alyssa in the crowd. Daniel felt his cheeks flush just at the sight of her, and he quickly looked down, now eager to see who he had. His finger flew down the page until he saw his name, and his heart did a small flip in his chest when he also saw Alyssa's. His fingers tightened on the paper and he gave a wide smile, his eyes turning to Alyssa for a moment.

Daniel glanced back over to Pierce, who was now accompanied with Lucas. The teenager walked over there happily, shoving the papers in his small backpack he brought. The male neared Pierce and smiled, greeting the three with a small wave. Pierce hadn't had his own list yet, but he wasn't sure if Pierce even wanted to see the list right now. "'ello Pierce, Lucas." The teenager's accent rolled off his tongue smoothly, and he watched as Pierce interacted with the fawn. Lucas spoke and Daniel's eyes flew to him, and he nodded quickly. "It'll give us enough time to settle in, maybe even have enough time for some tea afterwards." He bribed, his eyes travelling back to Pierce's and wiggling his eyebrows slightly at the mention of tea.

jesse walked into one of the doorways of the mansion. she smiled with confidence and walked up the shiny stairs and up to her dorm. she let her bags drop to the ground, making a small thud. jesse opened up the door, only to see a rather large room with five medium sized beds. "oooh, this looks nice and comfy!" she said with an impressed voice.

she picked up her two bags and walked inside the large room. since she was the first one there, she quickly picked the bed of her interest, the top bunk of the bunk bed in the far left. she also saw emily at the far right, she looked over with a glance "oh hello emily! didn't see you there" she chuckled as she settled down her bags in the corner.
